Love your enthusiasm! Looks like you're sharing your Christmas loot when your explain each item! Appreciate the vid and hope to see you and Thomas in the refuges this season.
I literally have a similar set this year for the first time. I am using goose floater and wind socks only different. Making me feel better about trying it.
Best mobile set up I ever use for refuge/public land hunts would be very basic. Benelli shotgun, blind bag, motion Ducks jerk cord (7 decoys), 3x Higdon XS Pulsators, and a marsh seat. Tons and tons of motion and water movement is what I use. If I am with buddies we bring usually another jerk string or two.
I love those Dakota packable mallards. I've never thought about using a big dry bag backpack style before, that's a great idea. I bet a 40L would fit 3 Dakota packables plus a couple green wing drakes for color pop plus the basics from the blind bag.
You have helped me so much though my duck hunting experience. Check out the closer of the shasta wild life refuge closer. It changed Northern California duck hunting for ever.
I have one spot that’s 1.5 mile walk in. I use a gun case with sling, decoy bag backpack with 6 decoys max and a 5 gallon bucket to hold my shells license gloves headlamp food etc its my blind bag and also doubles as a seat. I wear as much stuff as I can too and it makes it not so bad.
I bought a surplus army rucksack with sustainment pouches and have that loaded plus gun in soft case. It would prolly be better than carrying a bucket.
@@Brenbolone I either stand the whole time or you can use a marsh seat and just use nite ize gear ties to secure the seat to the rucksack when hiking in. I carry no more than 8 decoys in the sack plus ammo, call lanyard, snack, water, and duck tote. If I kill ducks I fasten the duck tote to the rucksack with nite ize for the hike out.
Well done guys! We just take the freaking house with us most of the time because we have to boat to most of our holes. It looks like you guys are in Californistan ............... If so, I hear there's lots of pintails, which is awesome!
Have you used the Mojo Butt Up Rippler decoy? It's similar to the Pulsator but probably half the size and a fraction of the price which might be nice for your minimalist set up. I have 2 of them I use in my full decoy set and I love them!
@@MidValleyMercenaries look up “the real decoy” brand. They make ripplers that produce more ripples, have long battery lives and they’re built to last, they’ve definitely been a difference maker for me on no wind days

Thanks! Say hello if you see us!
I bought the rig em right refuge runner decoy bag. Excellent quality and well thought out.

I like your setup but I only hunt from a boat . Haven`t found the land to hunt from shore or swamp to many big Gators around . Enjoyed it
Do you have a video showing how to setup as a beginner? Like where to stand sit. Where to setup decoys etc
No I don’t
That rig em right big backpack looks awesome for what i do. The Dakota packables definitely got my vote as well.
It has a hangar for hunting in the timber too. Packables are 💵

Getting a refuge runner before this season.

I’ve had a few but they don’t last long.

I’ve seen them just haven’t used one.
@@MidValleyMercenaries They’re definitely worth the investment!
What do you do with your bag when sitting in a pond? The sled is super nice to have in that instance
The decoy bag or the dry bag?
The rigem right bag
@@MidValleyMercenaries the big bag because you can't just throw it in the water
I just roll it up and tuck it into the tullies or flatten it and put my dry stuff on top
What size do you rock your core lightweight hoodie? Im considering an xl or maybe a 2xl

What about Rocky's blind, how do you carry that out?
I’ll strap it to the backpack with bungees or the buckle
How many ounces is the weight on your Dakota packable decoys?
3
