  • English is a cool language to learn. As you learn it, you'll soon realize that sometimes the noun, or the name of something, is the same word as the verb to describe the action you would do with it. In this English lesson I'll help you learn over 30 of these types of words. It's great because once you learn the noun, you already know the verb! It's a two-for-one deal!
    In this free English class you'll learn: a hammer, to hammer, a pump, to pump, a drink, to drink, a hoe, to hoe, a shovel, to shovel, a phone, to phone, a vote, to vote, paint, to paint, and many more words where the noun and verb are the same.
    I hope you enjoy this English lesson about when nouns and verbs are the same!
    ⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

    I like that stance a lot : "It's like a two for one deal. You learn one word and you get two." So true, so motivating and so helpful! Thank you for this tip, Bob. It's a good one.

    I guess that almost every noun in English can be used as a verb. For instance a stone and to stone, a cage and to cage, a chain and to chain and many others. However, there are the exceptions as well.

    • @cuiperindy2120
      @cuiperindy2120 Год назад

      Nouns, verbs, adjectives and advebrs are the same or similar for an obvious reason: they talk about the same idea from a different perspective, i.e. action the verb, substance or idea the noun, quality the adjective, specifier of the verb the adverb. In English a verb can be the same or similar to a noun or an adjective. In other languages they are similar. Take the Spanish verb "limpiar" for example: limpio is the adjective, limpieza is the noun. In Italian is "pulire" (verb'), pulito (adjective), pulizia (noun). In English is clean (verb), clean (adjective), cleanliness (noun). Anyone who speaks more than one language won't find anything unusual or surprising here.
