    5:00 I thought CGT was 10% for basic rate and 20% higher rate whilst residential CGT 18/28%

    Oh Ranjan! I thought you would know the correct cgt on shares. 28% is for property, shares are 10 or 20% depending on your tax band.

    If you clamp down on Air BnB it will not increase the supply of rental but maybe increase sale supply. The small small accidental Landlords with one or two properties are getting out of the market.

    Video on transferring FHL into corp structure would be great please.. I have x2 that do really well but this change has completely destroyed future growth plans and so now trying to piece together options and new plan or just sell up completely, put all money into ISAs where they will get nothing from me.

    What about PRS Landlords renting to families and own the properties in their own name with BTL mortgage, does this apply to them? Or is it just the holiday let side that will be affected?

    Karl Scwabh said this in his book "The 4th indudtrial revolution" with play on words " you own nothing and be happy " meaning also, but not exclusively, that you will not own but rent goods and services and be happy!! ( also included in meaning is what you own, will be taken away from you by various methods and means, and you will be happy !! 😢😢😮😮😊😊

    Well fairly obviously, the Tories are the party of large landlords. So making life harder for small landlords, so they can be squeezed out and forced to sell up to large landlords has been Tory party policy since the Tory party was created in the 1700's

    Is it not better to hold up to £50,000 in personal name as it’s 20% tax. Then hold the rest in limited company for standard vanilla buy to let rental business.

    My heart bleeds those poor dentists and doctors making less profit on their second homes. Buy to let has ruined the aspirations of the younger generation of getting on the property ladder by small landlords outbidding 1st time buyers on what is the more affordable end of the market. The quicker taxation is increased on this sector the better to swing the pendulum back in favour of ownership rather than the private rented sector

      Housing and rents are both going up and that is caused by the lack of housing being built. Don't blame the landlords, they are the supplier of rented accommodation. Blame the politicians that fail to promote the building of more homes.

I’m specifically blaming politicians that have created policies that support profiteering from housing when others can’t manage to secure their first home. Landlords are just taking advantage of the situation. My point was the balance needs to change; less rented more ownership.

      Don’t be soft, it’s not the small time UK landlords you should be worried about it’s the damn international corporations you should be protesting, they’re buying up family homes at an alarming rate, they’re the major cause of rent and service charge increases thanks to their mates in government, so no the small time landlords aren’t the problem.

      Worked extremely hard all my life renovating properties with several jobs to make it work? I now have 3 properties I own outright. Started with nothing. Don’t tar every person with the same brush!
