Laura, what a beautiful choice of words you chose for this exercise. ❤️. It's been a long time since I have turned my mind to poetry, more than 20 years since I've read this. Kicked up memories of the year, wardrobes, people, in my life of the discovery of Sonett # 43. This is a great way to practice Quilting. Choosing personal favorites to quote- does make the work more, personal & gives the reader some insight to the Maker of the Quilt.
I love the quilt and the writing idea. Brilliant! I had not seen this before but I'm definitely going to try it. Hopefully, my quilting writing looks better than my handwriting! LOL! Great tutorial, Laura, as usual.
Thank you for this video. I am planning to copy a poem on the back of a quilt, and I was wondering how it could be done. Your lettering is really very nice. I will do some practicing to see if I can do it too.
Loved this technique! Going to ask the question that always seems to come up. What did you use for marking? I would be nervous marking on white fabric. Also I have a small machine and have not tried free motion quilting on it. Will it work? Love watching your videos. You always have something fun and different. I have learned a lot. Thank you!
As a former high school English teacher, your reading of this famous poem made me cry. Your reading was beautiful!!

I have done writing as quilting using Bible verses. I used to hand stitch my name on the back before I discovered labels.
Yay! Me too! 😊❤😊
