  • "No dream is too big." That’s what Ruth Oudit, a Justice Studies graduate at the University of Guelph-Humber (UofGH) and a first-generation university student, believes.
Her parents are immigrants from Guyana, who left home for Canada with hopes of greater opportunities for their children. She and her sister (who’s also a UofGH alum) are the first in their family to attend university as daughters of immigrants - a story many students at UofGH share.
Oudit details how her family’s background as immigrants inspired her ambitions to pursue higher education because of the sacrifices they made for their children, and what she plans on doing next.
