Do you have any historical costumes that don't fit? That never fit? This Italian gown had so many fit issues when I first made it and I only wore it once. I love the IKEA fabric it is made out of, though, so I was determined to fix it! This video details how I raised the waistline, put in new side seams, sewed in underarm gussets, modified the shoulder straps, and finally set in the sleeves so that they fit and I have full range of motion in my arms when I wear it! It is no longer a UFO (unfinished object) and I can now move on to other projects!

The problem with Frixion pens is that the marks don't leave with heat. They just turn invisible. They are still there and can come back. I've heard stories of people leaving garments in the cold and finding the marks next time they wear them.

Yes! You can bring them back by putting the garment in the freezer! 😬

Today must be UFO video day, this is the third one on the same theme. Well, it certainly got me looking at my UFOs and mending... time for some sewing. Thank you for the jump start. Cheers from Vancouver. Great job, btw. :)

I've had to walk my dad through being a costuming assistant haha.

My husband helped me with my other Italian gown but I wanted to see if I could do it on my own :)

I love this little video! I think I have about the same number of UFOs and USOs. I found that when I do get into UFO panic, making a fun little sewing project tends to help me get back the mojo for a UFO.

Thank you for watching and I'm so glad you liked it!! I try to do the same thing with little projects--I made the pocket I wear in this video because I needed a break from sleeve frustration, lol!

Did you style it yourself? It looks so good! Hair is always a problem. Another tutorial? :-)

You worked so hard to get this to fit and it ended up so beautiful! I have a bunch of UFOs - I have one drawer of the dresser in my sewing area that is dedicated to UFOs. But yeah, I have WAY more USO (I like that term!) but without events it's hard to motivate myself to get to the UFOs OR the USOs!!

The lack of the events is really sapping my sewing mojo, too. But I keep buying fabric...LOL
