Bro. Really. It has a lot of regret for me. I'm 32 now, have a decent amount of money and have lived in 6 countries and am still living a great life. But I've let a sweetheart pass me by several years ago and it torments me to this day.
Even three years later, the ending chorus still makes me teary eyed. Tango for ever!

I genuinely feel like no American band has stepped up in the area of melodeath epics like you guys. Grand job as always, and I can't wait to hear this tune on vinyl as soon as it arrives from distant lands.
Destroy Destroy Destroy and Dagon are both incredible as well. Together with Aether Realm, they're IMO three examples of next to flawless American melodeath.

To be fair, I don't know that much of really good american metal band, not only in melodeath. Agalloch, Kaamelott, Aether Realm...
This song is truly a masterpiece and a roller coaster of beautiful emotions for me. I'm currently taking medication for depression and it makes me feel a bit numb to emotions sometimes. But this song is one of the only things that makes tears roll down my face. Tears both of joy and of sadness. The melodies, the vocals, the lyrics strike deep inside me and make me remember happy times, loss, anger, hope. It's hard to put into words how this song makes me feel, but I wanted to say thank you for making it. It means a lot to me. Thank you Aether bois.
That’s what anti-depressants do, they make your peaks less high en and your depths less low. That’s fine for a while but when you get used to them you are gonna miss the feeling of being alive. Wish you all the best, and alongside the meds, seek help en search for a therapy that works for you. Medication can help in the process, but will not “cure” you from your depression.
Good luck. I was near depression a few years ago for very personal reason but managed to not fall in it. Beside being a father, music really helped me to see that beauty exists and life is worth it.

Shoutout to my friend Michael Rumple, he popped by the studio in 2016 and recorded that part and the long black metal scream at 10:33 and some other backing vocals. Makes the studio version sick, but means I gotta do the best I can live without him.

This might actually remain one of the most emotional songs I know. I've listened to this so many times and this live version totally does it justice. I can't wait to see these lads on stage again!
Love the drumming in this band, it's super clean and his blasts don't distract you from the rest of the song, it flows.

My son & I met these fella's after a show in Pontiac Mi. They spent time talking, & listening to us & were a huge inspiration to my son who is just starting his first band!! I had 2 guitars recently stolen, neither super valuable but older - 1 was a mid 80sVester multi-color crackle finish (if you can find these on ebay they are workhorses) /my first main guitar and a 1991 Ibanez 430s II (only made for 2 years but kind of a coveted guitar because it has a Wizard II neck on it)!
I feel for you bro. I also have a 1989 Charvel Eliminator Bass. You can get them for about $300-500 on ebay. Active EQ on it and as you can set neck or bridge volume levels seperately you can get almost any sound out of it! I think I paid $1200 new in 1990.

And yea, totally sucks to have your hard earned gear ripped off by some asshole.. stings a bit more when that/those assholes are your so called friends and/or bandmates.. but to an addict, a fix is more important than music, friends, equipment, and anything else.. so i blame myself thinking they were my friends.. and not realizing they were addicted that bad.. hell maybe they werent, and were just true chicken shits deep down.. either way.. trying to bounce back.. i went ahead and got a little 7-string guitar and did some work on it.. slowly but surely i just want to record my own tracks, since i can scream and do vocals better than anything, im going to try and just layer it all out by myself, and go from there.. where i live, finding musicians that are into the same music we’re into is damn near impossible to find..
