If you are an international student here in Canada you need to get PR first ? Once eligible for Canadian Citizenship then you will apply and then they will send you invitation for Citizenship test

Can I ask you a question? When I applied for PR, it was granted quickly and before landing in Canada, I was in Europe on a student visa for a couple of months to find PhD positions. I was holding at that time, both my Canadian immigrant visa and also my European study visa.
When I couldn't find anything in Europe, I surrendered my student visa (that was valid for two years) and landed in Canada. In the eligibility period of four years, I never left Canada even for one day. Will me having a student visa in Europe before becoming a permanent resident be a problem for Canada? Do I have to worry about things like RQ, etc? Will really appreciate your two cents on this.

      Hey there,
Make sure you disclose any visas or citizenship status you had in another country like you mentioned about your student visas make sure you disclose this information under Immigration and citizenship status.
Secondly, for the physical presence rule, you must have been physically present in Canada for 1095 in the last five years, please read this information on this link.
      eservices.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/resCalcStartNew.do?&lang=en.
      www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/eligibility.html#time
I don't think having a student visa in Europe before becoming a PR be a problem for Canada but just make sure you disclose this information in your application and keep in mind if you landed as a PR and then left for studies that period won't be counted towards 1095 let's say you arrived Canada then left for 1 year then come back so that one year will be subtracted from 1095 also anywhere you stayed for 6 months or over you will require a police check from that country.
Just to let you know I am not a registered RCIC consultant, The above information was provided to you based on my own research and material public in Canada.ca

@@vlogcanada4478 Hey, thanks so much for your response. I actually never left Canada after I landed. Basically I had 9 months in my immigrant visa so instead of landing directly in Canada, I went to Europe on a 2 year study visa, I actually looked for a few doctoral positions there and since I didn't find any, I landed in Canada as a PR and never left. I think what I'm really worrying about is an RQ because I had a European study visa before landing in Canada. I hope it's not an issue though since I never even left for a single day in my eligibility period.

      Hey
I don’t see any problem in that like I mentioned just disclose that visa or citizenship status hopefully you will be fine, RQ usually gets triggered when you try to hide something in your application or when they suspect you don’t meet requirements.

@vlogcanada4478 I was checking up prices and it's very expensive. First for that English certificate cost over $500 plus other $500 for citizenship.

      Hello there,
You can but wouldn't recommend you because once the test started, you should be staying on the same tab. Clear instruction to close all other applications on your device see this link.

Since you have completed the test, tracker should be updated in next few days keep an eye on citizenship tracker portal, before you receive OATH ceremony notification there are few other checks to be completed like physical presence, language skills and prohibitions etc, so roughly would say it can take few months before you get invited for Oath or you can get it sooner as well it’s all depends.
But currently what I have seen on forums from the test completion it’s taking around 2-3 months for OATH invitation
