Make small room at top a "box" room. That saves the big room for a bed. Servants slept in attic rooms.Beautiful house.. I will watch to see if you take care .

I am just beginning to get into it myself. Mostly what l do is build small miniatures. Currently l am working on a small greenhouse l have made from rolling up old magazine pages.
Oh it's a really nice hobby to be interested in. There is so much you can create from many items and materials! The world really is your oyster! Enjoy making the lovely greenhouse 😊

Like I say, I never think we are right, like some of the pompous folks lol. I like to know, so I can choose the way I name things, if I prefer the American term better, then that's the way it is for me! 😁 And by the way, the bay windows you mentioned, which I love too. I bought my partner two dollhouses for Christmas, and one of them has bay windows and he is making it into a tearoom! I may do a quick video showing them so you can see what he's up to, to help give you some inspiration perhaps 😁
@@RichMiniatures Aren't miniatures magical! I did an inventory the other day and was shocked at how much I have. I've been collecting all my life and now that the kids are grown and gone I am working like there's no tomorrow to finish my projects and sell them. I put my miniatures on the back burner simply because life got in the way. We hope to retire in about five years and move to a tropical location so I'll have to sell or donate my houses. I have plans to approach our local art museum and see if they're interested in displaying some of them. I'm relearning forgotten skills and learning new ones. RUclips is a great way to see what other miniaturists are doing and get inspired. I plan to post a video of the house I'm working on now. Sending good vibes to you!

@@RichMiniatures I definitely will let you know. Not an island, but boat access only ocean front property in a tiny fishing village on the Corozal Bay. Got it for a song compared to US prices. Property taxes are around $22 per year. We'll be off-grid in an 800 Sq ft cabana with two tiny guest houses (hotel room sized) for family and friends. That's the plan, anyway. If I had a bottomless bank account, I'd move to Italy and take my minis with me. It's like selling my children! 😢

Yes, I absolutely still have the boho family house! It's waiting for me to do work on the upstairs sections, but will be waiting a bit longer 😁 I've done a lot since back then, and now I work full time working on commissions for private customers! I'm hoping to carry on with my own projects, in-between the "paid" work. So I'm working on dollhouses more or less every day at the moment, which suits me just fine considering I'm thinking in "dollhouse" mode every second of my waking hours.... actually I've had dreams with miniatures and houses in too come to think of it! 😂

Hello Teija, the journey has been fun with this house so far. But then I bought another house...and another 😂 just like an addiction! So I am gradually filming videos on all my projects. Which means none of them are completely finished yet, but it does show a nice variation of styles for people to watch me work on! So nice to hear that you are creating your own miniature world now too! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been too! 🙏😁
I can honestly see a lot of similarities to my own journey into the modern dollhouse world here. Ha ha. However, me and my brothers used to make models when we where kids, and i play with my modeltrains and my collection of larger dolls.
In my opinion dolls houses are for everyone at all ages! If one are like me and does not hawe any small children to make up as an excuse, it just has to be started regardless, othervise one will newer ever get there and they has given me both headace but many houers of fun!

I recently started on a 1:12 Gotic Victorian Kit from the US (i got the chance to buy it and i could not resist, i forgot about the shipping when i bought it, but i still not regretting it, i newer realized how big it realy was, but luckily it could at least be shipped flatpacked so i could get it home... ha ha ha I had to buy a dedicated vintage parlour table on a local charity market to hawe it on.).

It's a great journey when you get started. There are so many types of houses you can do. And if you're stuck for space, the single room boxes are great too

Hi . Can i ask how you removed the stairs please ? I have got to remove the stairs in dolls house because grandaughter cannot get her hand in to play , they take too much of the room away . Thank you x
Hi Angela. You should find that most staircases are only glued where they touch the floor and the top stair that meets the next floor. So if you either put a flat screwdriver under the edge of the stair and tap it with a small hammer, or in many cases just get hold of the staircase and slowly push it back and forth, and you be surprised how easy it comes loose! I hope this helps and hope your granddaughter has some really lovely times playing in this wonderful miniature world! Xx

I've made several videos now, and when I watched this video back (to type in the usual remarks) the video was as normal. After it was uploaded onto RUclips, it then looked out of sync, but sadly there is nothing I can do about that. Obviously something technical to do with the movie program and RUclips not sync ing with each other. But hopefully it wasn't completely spoilt, as all the main part of showing the work done, didn't have my face showing, so no one would know my voice wasn't in sync 😉

popcicle sticks or coffee stirrer sticks make perfect floor boards. You can do parquet or lots of different ways

In the US, we do call it siding, but also shiplap. Although, I’ve only heard shiplap used for the interior of houses. Who knows! 🤷🏼♀️ Everyone calls it something different lol!

Hello Teija, the journey has been fun with this house so far. But then I bought another house...and another 😂 just like an addiction! So I am gradually filming videos on all my projects. Which means none of them are completely finished yet, but it does show a nice variation of styles for people to watch me work on! So nice to hear that you are creating your own miniature world now too! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been too! 🙏😁

I can honestly see a lot of similarities to my own journey into the modern dollhouse world here. Ha ha. However, me and my brothers used to make models when we where kids, and i play with my modeltrains and my collection of larger dolls.
In my opinion dolls houses are for everyone at all ages!
If one are like me and does not hawe any small children to make up as an excuse, it just has to be started regardless, othervise one will newer ever get there and they has given me both headace but many houers of fun!
Yes it is so much fun working in the world of the dollhouse, even when we are older! 😁

I recently started on a 1:12 Gotic Victorian Kit from the US (i got the chance to buy it and i could not resist, i forgot about the shipping when i bought it, but i still not regretting it, i newer realized how big it realy was, but luckily it could at least be shipped flatpacked so i could get it home... ha ha ha I had to buy a dedicated vintage parlour table on a local charity market to hawe it on.).

I design my own ceramic vases for 1:12 and I sell many to the USA, but maybe one day it will be exciting to sell to Sweden! 😁🙏 X

Perhaps when i got some more money to spend... Ha ha, i think there is a market here to be honest, i seen many people like me discover the 1:12 and 1:24 scales here.
Especialy things like British Cottage style i think would sell.

It was just a complete passion to begin with, but now I do other folks houses as a living also, on top of my own houses in between! So now I work more or less seven days a week (only taking the odd day off when needed). Hopefully you'll pick up lots of tips on the way, as I love showing everything I learn, to hopefully help others along the way! 😊

Hi . Can i ask how you removed the stairs please ? I have got to remove the stairs in dolls house because grandaughter cannot get her hand in to play , they take too much of the room away . Thank you x
Hi Angela. You should find that most staircases are only glued where they touch the floor and the top stair that meets the next floor. So if you either put a flat screwdriver under the edge of the stair and tap it with a small hammer, or in many cases just get hold of the staircase and slowly push it back and forth, and you be surprised how easy it comes loose! I hope this helps and hope your granddaughter has some really lovely times playing in this wonderful miniature world! Xx
@@RichMiniatures thank you so so much for your reply . I have tried pushing them about and tried a screw driver under to loosen them but they not budgeing . Theres no room to get a junior hacksaw in neither , they are sure glued in to stay put . X

Sound and vision are not in-sync :(
I've made several videos now, and when I watched this video back (to type in the usual remarks) the video was as normal. After it was uploaded onto RUclips, it then looked out of sync, but sadly there is nothing I can do about that. Obviously something technical to do with the movie program and RUclips not sync ing with each other. But hopefully it wasn't completely spoilt, as all the main part of showing the work done, didn't have my face showing, so no one would know my voice wasn't in sync 😉
