Most importantly after you have selected which US box to make your 1k point Bolt Action Army, all you need to do is decide what Konflikt 47 units you want to add for a good 1250pt K47 army. For the USMC I recommend the M8 Grizzly Medium Walker. For the US Army, id say a squad of Paragon or heavy Infantry, maybe upgrade the Sherman with a tesla cannon. For the US Airbone, id add the M2 Mudskipper Jump Walker.
It should be noted that the US Army Infantry Sprue is the same as the new Rangers sprue except for a few special accessories and heads, so you can use “Rangers” to build regular troops and also get a sniper rifle in the kit. Also, the US Paratroopers kit has them wearing M1943 uniforms and boots, which is actually correct for any US Army troops in the late war period. (The uniform was trialed at Anzio in 1943 but saw more service as the war went on.) This means the “best” starter army is the Paratrooper army, but build them as regular US troops and get a box of Rangers to mix and match parts with. Then you’re free to buy whatever tank you want later on. Tanks are usually $20-30 on Amazon and the US Paratrooper starter army is sometimes as cheap as $56 on Amazon. Throw in a box of Rangers once they’re on Amazon and you’ll have an awesome US army for about $100.
Three inexperienced american mmg teams have served me well for years, I'm a little worried we might well lose access to those mulitple weapon slots in certain factions. 15 shots firing away at 48 inch range is pretty good even at -1. Snipers dream though!
5:05 That seems the Way to go! 6:49 BUT THEY ARE NOW!!!! 3MMG TEAMS... A howitzer...mortar, Tank....this Box keeps on GIVIN'! 12:00 You might want those 3mmgs now^^ Great Video!
One set that i don't see much talk about is the Armored Fist set. 3x M3 Halftrack and 30 Infantry. For the gear-heads out there, its a great kit. Hopefully Armored Transport s get some love in the new edition.
Great review, and I think this is the right ranking; I think the standard US Army starter army has the highest chance of rising stock going into V3, but if you like Shermans and half-tracks in the future you can always pick them up easily if you have the Airborne starter army. Great work as always - keep it up!
Just to have the models I'm thinking of picking up the paratroopers box and a Sherman for this and other games. Honestly want to try this out but it would be a matter of getting my friends into the game.
I play US, specifically Marines. I get why you ordered them that way, but one thing I feel isn't being taken into account is if the force is themed to be Regulars or Veteran, such as Airborne squads; that will affect what winds up on the table. I also feel that a more balanced set, such as the Army starter set, should be given more weight.
If I ever get sold on Bolt-Action, I’ll be rocking the army no question… but Pacific style. …God I hate my desire to be contrarian with my minis sometimes.
Thurs 7th of November i just ordered the us starter set 2nd one reviewed got it for 74 pounds ive not read the rules yet but ive already ordered a jeep with machine gun and flamer unit and bazooka and sniper unit hope i haven't gone wrong just wanted lots of options also bought battle of the bulg to start up
If I want to start with the US Airborne starter set... do I need to add anything? Would love to see a video with what should be added if you pick up the starter set. :)
The "Chicago Dice" blog has an article about making a very good 1000 point 3rd Edition list out of this set. Honestly, you could do just fine with just the contents of the box set for a long time, but the article also suggests what you could add. For mine, I picked up a second blister of bazooka/light mortars, and when the opportunity arises, I'll be adding the 75mm Pack Howitzer. This is one army that doesn't _need_ tanks, and they really don't fit the theme anyway.

Great points. I started with no starter kit, and built what I wanted. Seems like the starter boxes are a good deal .
Banzai !! I got the US airborne starter army and just got a Sherman with it. Seemed a pretty good fit to me.
Airborne as Glider infantry is my favorite way to play them. Banzai has nothing on a .50 cal jeep exploding out of a splintered Flying Coffin.
Got the US Airborne starter army and haven’t looked back, great kit, very flexible and didn’t hurt the back pocket
"The back pocket" lol 😂🤪

Love that you used the OG medal of honor theme music!! My guy
I picked up the us starter army set with the artillery and sherman for $105 on Amazon yesterday so i reckon it was a pretty good deal lol

Two Warlord Wednesday videos, it must be my birthday

Now I'm painting the Shermans from the Achtung Panzer! Starter Set. 🖌

How about the 168th combat assault? 25 infantry, 1 mmg, 1 medium mortar, HQ, and M10 tank destroyer...plus terrain models

Another amazing video ❤🔥
Gonna Soak this Up Later!
I'm hoping there will be a US Winter starter army in 3rd edition.

Best US starter Army is clearly the Japanese one because Banzai
So the 442?
Tenno Heika! BANZAI!
BANZAAAAAIIII
Banzai rule is kind of meh.
The tank recommendations are no bueno
I like the airborne
background music is too loud
So the US Marine box wasn't that good because no tank yet the Airborne one doesn't have a tank either but is top.....
