  • We recently relaunched Isotropic as a blog-first website and have got a few questions about how we structured/built our single post pages. In this video, we take a deep dive into creating a flexible custom single post template with Oxygen Builder - complete with ACF, conditional visibility, and more.
Any other questions? Feel free to reach out!

Brilliant! Use the conditionals in Oxygen Builder to set up a completely different Post type. Genius.
And the adaptive titles! Dude, this is pure gold. I watched this months ago, but didn't really understand how useful it would be until I wanted to implement the same kind of thing on my own blog.
Thanks so much for sharing with us!!!

    Thank you for this video!
It would be awesome to 1: Find out how did you build those shortcut anchor links that appear on the left side of the blog post content
2: To learn more about the advanced query and how did you set up the related posts. I actually would like to setup an advanced query for similar/related products for woocommerce but am struggling with that

I had not thought about conditions within the post post-template. Had you thought about another post post-template for a specific post category? Really good video, thanks. More Oxygen videos please :)

I don't know whether it is because I was watching this at 1.5x speed but my head is spinning. I think you should do a detailed tutorial on how to create a blog with ACF and Oxygen.

I would rather use 'title centered'/'title left' for hero sections so you can scale it when new type of posts will appear.
And set condition based on Custom Data Attributes(ruclips.net/video/hXzipp-Oe8M/видео.html)
    Overall really smart solution.

So, I guess you are moving away from the "agency" model and more into creating courses as many who are abandoning "web agency" ship are doing, right?

Yes, no, and kind of :) - still operating the agency model, but I have scaled the actual staff down immensely (over the course of 3-4 months) and moved further away from service-based work. It was a fun four years, but building (good) content is a much more scalable, passive activity - and with it you are creating a true asset that can be sold in the future, no strings attached.
The agency model is scalable, but requires a ton of work, and if you don't seriously systemize processes and have a load of recurring revenue, there's no chance you're going to sell it in the future (for a worthwhile sum IMO).
We're still doing some really custom, fun projects (me, dev, and one of my designers who is now part-time), and servicing existing accounts, but by focusing more on creating valuable content, I'm building an asset that has intrinsic long-term value.
I planned on investing a lot of time into making a couple really high quality, detailed courses that offer legit value to people - I enjoy teaching - But currently working on operating and growing a funded startup (another reason why Isotropic Agency needed to scale back volume), which may sidetrack from that plan.
One final note - the beauty about creating an agency is that once you have the experience and skills in scaling and landing clients (alongside a portfolio), it will only take a few months to build back to where you once were. So there 's always the option to get back to big clients and employees in the future :)
