Seeing this phone proves why Nokia is still the number one phone company in the world. Even though they lost some market share but they are still the king. I used many many phones from Motorola's Sony Ericsson's Siemens to iPod touch, iPhone and none comes close to Nokia.

Great unboxing on the N97. I have a question regarding E-mail on the N97. I use a pop E-mail account on my E90 and the phone is set-up to retrieve my E-mail automatically every 30 minutes. I would prefer shorter intervals (every 5 minutes or so) but that is not possible on the E90. What are the automatic E-mail time retrival settings on the N97? Is the shortest time every 30 minutes like on the E90?
get mine on monday, the best phone out there. the i phone just cant compete, they have never had the featues of a nokia, and now nokia have the touch screen the i phone blown out of the water. The first i phone wasn't even 3g, nokia had the n70 3g about 2 years prior to the i phone. rock on nokia all the way, always will be the best.

in canada and america its like 250-500 depending on which version. for those considering buying it, you should update the firmware due to random reboots and touch screen lag. after about 7 months i had some serious os problems and had to rma... buy from reputable dealers and never get the chinese versions
N97 is great! But by looking at the internal hardware specs, it's very similar to iPhone 3GS with a slower 424MHz ARM11 in N97 and Cortex-A8 600 MHz in iPhone 3GS. The Cortex-A8 is equivalent to 1.2GHz of ARM11. I would say, the iPhone 3GS would be snappier than N97. Both phones have digital compass. So if you must need a QWERTY keyboard, go for the N97.
@RestLessIP ehum it doesnt disconnect msn if you do something else but be aware when you log in on msn on your pc it will disconenct on your phone you cant send pics and not copy and paste,you can run apps on the background and i dont know more but i hope you got alot further with this, I'm happy with the Nokia N97 the way it is and also wich is great is swype =] if you dont have to time to slide the keyboard open, swype is an app
I already ordered this phone and expect to get it early in July. The sliding feature is also an extra option to make me buy the phone. I want to use it sliding up and down as often as I text and browse websites. If what you heard is true, I kind of throw away my money for nothing.

i say the iphone because it has more apps for it out now and its on top of its game..N97/PRE/HTC ect...are great phones but they dont have much apps for it at the moment because there still new..its up to you on what you need it for..
i will give iphone my vote it wins n97 over by its large and increase number of application and 3rd party programmes not to mention the continous software updates which usually carries the larger amount of upgrades for the phone. tons of accessories and a large market for it helps alot too.

i just got this phone today its better than iphone. slim and i like the keyboard the touchscreen is cool too, there lots of new feature in this phone than recent n96 i had.
i got it today from phones 4 u at £489 it came with £20 voucher for downloading music. same phone from carphone warehouse is £40 more expensive, really like the looks of the phone, hopefully it shall last a long time.. :)
i got my n97 for $720 shipping handling phone was original price was 659.99 plus expedite shipping. so yeah man worth the money, specially if u like to mess with phones feature this phone is great for you :)
its an awesome lookin phone n only nokia can come up with something that can match the iPhone... but they need to improve on their software n more apps to give real competition to the iPhone
dont rush to the n97 =P I bought one few weeks ago and its bug a lot =( i think u should w8 till the new firmware update. if it goes ok then take it =P or just go for the iPhone =D
The only thing with the IPHONE is its still way to big & bulky to be carried around and used as a phone so im waiting for an IPHONE mini which i reckon we will see soon enough be it next summer or earlier.

No, it is a GSM/UMTS phone. Would work on AT&T perfectly, but only at EDGE speeds on T-Mobile.

seems to be one of the older n97s, I didn't get the touch pen, though I got a carholder that allowes me to plug the phone to the cars windshield ;)
the charher and the headphones still working for me , i still keep the touch pen as well. i have very good memories with this phone
