Great video! I somehow missed this one and am just seeing it now. Yes I definitely agree that the pivot is one of the most versatile and important skills you can have. Angled sidestep as well, but when you're in the pocket, you need to be able to change positions quickly with minimal movement. Just yesterday, i was sparring with a guy taller than me. About 6 foot 1. He punches hard, but tends to stay on one line and commits a bit too much. I used the pivot a lot against him.
I was just thinking about this exact thing yesterday. Excellent lesson. I need to learn more about "Cutting the Ring off" I suppose you've probably already got a Video on that but if you don't. I'd like more in depth training on that. Thank You Coach.
I sparred 5 rounds against a guy , first 45sec my lip got busted so we put in our mouthpieces then and after 60 seconds i took a left hook with my mouth open and was in pain for the remainder. Last 2 rounds i had to watch out not to ko my man , i was in my rythm and able to time him , step outside with the jab , step back with the right hand and then the left hook with a pivot , inbetween the guard. Switch to southpaw and land 3 jabs .Feint left feint right , left hook . Tap left hook , followed by a cracking palm strike left hook , it all worked. I train a lot and for many years , but it was by training on my own and watch You tube i got better and the basics of my footwork i learned on this channel , listen to this man..... Also do yoga like balancing excercices , train your legs hard , squats without weights and do some dancing....
Thanks Luis. I have no idea, I could only coach them for boxing really. I did this for MMA, maybe this is similar - ruclips.net/video/tsVKwqVF6hY/видео.html

Frank, you know what your talking about! A fan from Colombia South America!
Nicely structured video on how to approach the footwork and combine it with punches. Thanks, also for the e-book! Subbed!
Exactly what I am looking for hah. Great timing, keep it up!
Glad I could help👍
