    Sir in books it is written to go for only gr when raising dipping is referred.

      If you cannot see the light, then how would you know that it is raised.
      For light to be visible both conditions need to be satisfied.
      If data is insufficient, then we go by the range that can be calculated - else lesser of two. If still in doubt, please revert. Best Wishes

      But in the morning luminous range does not matter right. We can see the lighthouse from GR range.

    Good day sir
    If question says to first sight a light and nothing is mentioned about meteorological visibility , how to calculate PLR or we will use GR in such a case?
    Thanks and regards

    • @MarineGurukul
      @MarineGurukul  Год назад +1

      Only for Exam - If information is not sufficient to calculate both GR & PLR, then calculate the one possible & use it - under assumption that what you have calculated is lesser of the two,
      Hope clear.

    Sir pls confirm that is this what to take PLR OR GR depends on time in the question

    Respected sir, can u please clearfy whether we have to Use PLR or GR in night hours for raising a light right ahead ?

    • @MarineGurukul
      @MarineGurukul  2 года назад +1

      Anirudh, technically it is the lesser of the two - if sufficient data is available to calculate both.
      If you can calculate only one - for want of data, please use the one you calculate. This is under the assumption that the other one is more than the one calculates - so again using lesser of the two.
      Hope clear. Best Wishes

      I think that was a clerical error. It should have been 6.7 NM.

    Sir if visibility given =10-15 miles.. Then which line we have to use for calculating luminous range

    • @MarineGurukul
      @MarineGurukul  2 года назад +2

      There is no explanation, but in such a you do visual interpolation between the curves. Else, you may find PLR for both visibilities and do linear interpolation. Thanks
