Currently the BEST vlog on youtube in terms of defined goal, hand analysis & minimal theatrics...I don't care to hear about your road trip or social activities- show me the HANDS!
I just discovered these vlogs a few weeks ago and they have quickly become my favorite poker content on RUclips. Great camera set up, great analysis, and a cool dude. Keep up the good work!
Yeah I prefer the lower stakes since that's what I play. I used to watch Lex-O but he moved up in stakes and sadly is over his head and doesn't realize he is the fish at the table.
You're now my favorite poker vloger, your analysis, your calm, your thinking process, all very clear! I can feel a "neeme vibe" in your intonation sometimes, love it 😁
Probably the best live session I seen from a vlogger. Your aggression and timing is playing at a very high level. I think you will make it. Far. Keep going bro
Again bro. Been here since the beginning it’s like we’re part of the journey. I wish you continued success. You’ve grown tremendously as far as understanding your place and skill in poker. You can hang with the big boys once your bank roll allows. Hard work pays off. 🙏
I’ve been watching your channel for a while now, and I have to say I’ve really come to enjoy it as well as looking forward to new vlogs. During this time, I’ve also watched your subscriber numbers continue going up, and it seems as though you are picking up quite a bit of momentum of late. Congratulations on that success! Very well deserved for all the hard-working effort you’ve put into this. Anybody tell you you may want to considera side hustle/revenue stream of narrating or e-books. Great voice. Looking forward to future videos. A wide variety of poker rooms around the country. Continued success and safe travels. Thank you again for the good content! Keep up the great work.
Can someone tell me more about 89 being a bad hand to defend 3/4-bets OOP? Is it because the nut low straight includes broadway cards? He talks about it at 13:15
Exactly what Britishbulldog said, QJT boards are cooler city. Same with why A2s isn't played often (runs into 67s, however not as often because AKo is played at 100% freq, 67o... not really.) 87s also does hurt a bit, because KQo is played from pretty much every position.
With the AA vs $420 raise hand, I think the merit for protection isn't there when he's put in 1/3rd of his stack. At SPR 1, his bluffs and value hands will almost never slow down, maybe on 3% of flops such as 89T mono. But folding out all his 72o or birthday hand or live poker goofiness is not great in NLH. I think if you want to get really nerdy you can dive into solver outputs for when the postflop SPR is high enough that Aces ALWAYS raises again and never traps preflop. I have no idea but I would guess if calling leaves and SPR over 2 we get so much more incentivized to ship it preflop. And then when stacks are super deep it changes back to a small raise.
is this a prove it bank roll challenge? It seems like your caliber of play is mid stakes to low high stakes, by how you articulate things and seem to have done heavy work with solvers?
No, previous to this I've only played 1/3. This is my first time venturing to stakes this high, and I don't even own a solver currently. Thanks though!
That was a fun one! MP is squeezed between us and can't do much without a monster, and the original 3bettor clearly doesn't like that K, and is trying to bet to get to showdown OTR. Really nice spot to pick up there!
Can you explain why we shouldn't play 89s in reraised pots (especially OOP)? Thinking about it the only issue is very rarely having ROI vs AK on a TJQ board, however much more frequently than that you'll cooler sets of TT, JJ or QQ for max on those same boards, the rare times you have those runouts. 78s has the highest equity in the deck vs AA, KK etc (4b ranges) and 89s is almost the same hand. Just looking to learn thank you 🙏
89s plays poorly vs AK. Your open ender on JT is mostly just a gutshot. 87s isn't too great either, as players will have KQo in their 3b range. 67s is the best SC for 3/4b pots, good board clearance, doesn't block opponent's A5/A4 bluffs, and coolers A2s on 345 boards
Sam, do you ever call with a hand that the solver doesn’t say to call just because you want to try and flop a monster? Not because it’s the theoretically “correct” play?
I try not to, live 3b ranges are way tighter than what the preflop charts I study suggest. Meaning you need to be defending way tighter. If I'm taking an action outside of my charts, it's going to be an aggressive one.
You know your villains better than me, but against the average live 2/5 player, here’s what I would do differently: 1. In the 54s hand, just lead river. Typical players at these stakes don’t value bet river thin enough, especially in the multi bet pots. He might be checking back JJ or QQ which he might call with. 2. In the A8 hand, bet river for value and fold to a raise. You might value own yourself sometimes but live players are so unpredictable that they’re gonna defy the assumptions you have often enough to make it profitable value bet. Overall, love your content and your clear thought processes!
@@BluffaloSam any you still find a lot of rec players? I always assumed Day sessions would be very strong reg heavy so I've tried To stay away and then it forces Me to not be able To play as often
@skipbin Naw, strong regs start coming in around 3 or 4pm. There are plenty of regs during the day, but none of them really put the pressure on, just straight forward play.
I called turn to protect my call range, lead on that complete brick river makes no sense, and doesn't give our opponent a chance to bluff.Villian should still be going for value with his overpairs there.
Do you have an Instagram? Would love to get info about your sessions more quickly. Love your analysis and love that you show the hands you misplay. Makes it all more relatable. Hoping you can make it to the lodge and crush it

My only complaint with these vlogs is….I WANT MORE OF THEM!!! ❤❤

Keep on going bro, your thought process has evolved so much. Hit that Lodge stream on the upswing
That AJ call was awesome

Exactly what you said. You will almost always be in bad shape when you connect with this hand against 3/4 bet ranges.
Exactly what Britishbulldog said, QJT boards are cooler city. Same with why A2s isn't played often (runs into 67s, however not as often because AKo is played at 100% freq, 67o... not really.) 87s also does hurt a bit, because KQo is played from pretty much every position.

I honestly thought he wasn't folding, did not think about protecting my equity etc, I would've loved to take it to the streets.

love that bluff with pocket 9s

I like your analysis. How long have you been playing poker?
2 years when I was young, took a break, now back at it for 8 months.

Looks like you've been crushing that Wynn 2/5! Finding it pretty soft overall? I've heard mixed reviews
A shitreg at 1/2 once told me that the Wynn 2/5 is juicy so I can only imagine how good it is.
Toughest 2/5 game I've ever played, but EVERYONE buys in 200-300bb deep, and there's always action at every table!
I know it's good etiquette to roll over the 54ss first, but definitely wouldn't mind waiting to see villain's cards if he's a reg
Gotta be missed diamonds I reckon.
Where are you playing in Phoenix? Lone Butte? W
Trying out Lone Butte today, as Talking Stick doesn't allow filming.
How often do you play? And how many hours do you play per session?
4-7x a week, 4-6 hour sessions.

11am-6pm around there.

Damn you don't believe anybody has shit. The 4-5 hand was dirty. Keep up the good work
It's hard to make a hand, yeah that one was a sneaky sneaky
first two hands were from our session!
There it is!
Seeing your profit per hand would be nice imo. Example : QQ the pot was 985 but your profit was $560
I already struggle with basic math, that's a lot to ask 😂
I like leading river w the 4s5s. Looks weak

12:22 why not raise on this turn?
he literally explained his reasoning in that timestamp
The timestamp landing on my reasoning hahaha
Hey Sam, what's your story? Maybe devote a few minutes of a vlog to what yoiresoing, are you a full time professional , etc.
Just a casual poker player, who is playing more right now. Road tripping around America, and enjoying myself :)
First ❤
Rapid
Second!
yeah it's a mistake to not trap in that spot, especially you are in position
unbelievable how bad these players are in vegas...
wtf are these ppl hero calling 3/4 pot on the river vs. your top pair? Lol
