@@Kube_Dog there are millions of people happy enough to trot after an enticing dangling carrot, which is all the Cowboys' Superbowl promises are. As long as they keep on paying their hard-earned $$$$$$$$ to JJ, actual winning isn't that important.
@tejanoj3017 - That is 100% consistent with the NFL. They don't care how bad the refs are. They don't care how many people are at the games. They have one measuring metric and that is $$$$. The Sporting part is incidental and sometimes an inconvenience.
As a pre-Jerry era Cowboys fan, the thing that has frustrated me the most about Jerry since 95 is him saying that everyone is accountable for the losses, including himself. That is the biggest load of BS ever. Jerry has no accountability as Team President/GM/Head Cheerleader. Who does he answer to? Certainly not the fans that helped him build his dream stadium and help make the franchise the most valuable in any sport, not just football. If the product on the field screws up, he's not holding himself accountable in any meaningful way. He talks a good game, but he doesn't really mean half of what he says. His goal is not winning Super Bowls anymore. If it were, a guy that knows how to make money hand over fist could figure out a way to win a ring during the salary cap era. He gets stuff done when it's important to him. Winning isn't even close to a top goal for him anymore, and he doesn't have the football people around him to win despite his actions. Jerry puts butts in seats and sells merch, and makes a ton of money for the entire league as a byproduct. He barely knew football when he bought the team, and that really hasn't changed in almost 40 years of ownership. Football as a business? Yeah, he knows all about that. Football as a game meant to be won? Not so much. He got lucky that Jimmy was his college roommate at Arkansas. He wouldn't have hired him otherwise. He got lucky that he bought in when he could still outspend everyone else on free agents. If he ever hired a real football guy to run the team, the Cowboys wouldn't stop winning with the resources Jerry can provide. He won't though. Even after 30 years of coming up short, the ego won't let him pin the problem on himself.
Problem is that these wins and points Rich is talking about are coming from their NFC East competition. So realistically they have a guaranteed 4 wins with the Giants and Commanders and more than likely a split with the Eagles. They have inflated stats by the end of the year and then when push comes to shove they flop out.
That's pretty disingenuous, to say the least. There are no free wins in the NFL and they haven't gone undefeated against the division during McCarthy's tenure, but they have had their best 3 season stretch since the 90s going by W-L. They're just notorious chokers come playoff time. And they were before he got there. I think their #1 issue is Jerruh, but he's there til his last breath.
The cowboys are 13-15 against WINNING teams over the last 3 seasons. We know they can beat crappy teams, then suddenly the sports media is like OMG!!! Look how good they are!! Then they play a team at their skill level or better and it's a "shock" lol.
Dak's field of vision in a regualr season game against an average opponent: 150 degrees. Dak's field of vision against a top team or a playoff game: 30 degrees. that's what stress/anxiety does to some people
@@jamespanagopoulos5083 I agree. You can see the deer in the headlights look when he plays in the must win games. I don’t know if anyone has addressed this with him but it’s obvious to everyone watching he can’t handle the pressure.
@@socalgolf9978true but Dallas hasn’t won a Superbowl in 28 yrs. Who’s he person that’s been around this team that whole time: Jerry Jones. He’s the head of this organization. He’s the problem overall.
His handling of Johnson has not made me think that he pulls the trigger fast, quite the contrary, I think most Cowboys fans think he doesn't make quick changes because he can't admit something may have been a wrong fit. Jerry's ego preventing him from admitting that it may not have been the best hiring, just like with Garrett. The problem is it has been head coaching type issues. Tons of penalties, especially at the wrong times, bad play calls in end of game situations, and regular end of game management that makes it seem like they don't know what they are doing. The discipline with the team is horrible and it is quite frustrating. They haven't won against good teams. Their best wins were the Eagles, who they beat when they were in the process of flaming out, and Tampa in the playoffs, when the Bucs were a shell of themselves. They're frontrunners who can't win tough games, and as a Cowboys fan, I blame the coaching on that. It's so frustrating and has been going on for 25 years.
It's very simple. The one thing Jerry Jones absolutely hates, is being told what to do. If you have a bunch of reporters, football analysts, and fans telling Jerry what to do, he's not going to do it.
If Jerry wins a SB he wants to have most of the credit for it. To be recognized as the architect on that win. If BB or Harbaugh came and won they would be credited with it.
Underrated point. Rich trying to argue that Jerry doesn't want his ego from the past to cloud his personnel decisions when Jerry's ego puts him front and center every year
Thank you for correcting the record. Rich is becoming more addled by the week. Next year his show will be called "Grrr... you kids... get off the grass!"
Dallas - "We're were within an inch of winning the superbowl, (they weren't) we'll run it back with the same coach and QB and next time it'll be so different." It won't be any different.
It is so ironic that one coach he has a quick trigger on is Jimmy Johnson, and he has the patience of a Saint on the rest of the mid-coaches he had since.
In actuality, for himself big Jer made the right move in firing Jimmy Johnson, because since then he's been the undisputed voice of authority for them thar cowboys. His fragile ego simply couldn't stand someone else getting the credit . Really it's more moronic than ironic.
Cmon rich. I like the way you try to be unbiased and optimistic, but its clear that a super bowl is not the cowboys priority. The ownership is lazy and sits around just to make money. Call it out for what it is
Going as far as possible into the playoffs makes even more money: tickets, concessions, merch. Going home in early January cost Jerry money. Even if he hates football, a championship brings in money.
@@greeneyesms absolutely, and i used to think that as well. But you can never underestimate the power of incompetenece. As long as there is enough money flowing in, jerry doesn’t want to do the hard job of actually putting a good team together and swallowing his pride and hiring a new gm. They’re too comfortable with the way things are
I think the reason he kept McCarthy is more basic: Jerry Jones wants to prove his decision to hire McCarthy was the correct decision. In other words, it is all about Jerry Jones being right.
Unfortunately not a good take Rich. Staying in a relationship cause you’re unsure what’s out there but knowing your partner always comes up short with your expectations is a toxic dynamic.

@lucrative6477 thr jets haven't been to a superbowl, thier only one, in 55 years no one takes them seriously ever. Well maybe for about 4 snaps this year.
@@SunShine-xc6dh exactly my point. Jets often overperform because the expectations are low. Dallas always disappoints because they call themselves contenders and haven’t been since free agency existed.
The problem isn't this decision (although I would have taken a swing at Belichick). The problem is the week before the Packers game Jerry strongly implied McCarthy was coaching for his job. Put Mike right on the hot seat. Said it was a game by game decision. Those comments were NOT a vote of confidence and caused some unnecessary tension (and pressure) leading up to the game. Given this decision WHY didn't Jerry strongly back McCarthy leading up to the Packers game? Why not show confidence in your team and your coach? It really doesn't make sense.
It makes ALL the sense in the world >>> it's not about the cowboy players & their "sucker" fans [remember jerry is a trump associate] it's NOT about Championships, it's NOT about the Players or their calling >>> it's ALL ABOUT JERRY... Jerry & his BAG!
@MrAdamNTProtester It makes Jerry look weak. It makes it look like he was bluffing when he claimed McCarthy job security depended on how the playoffs went. Jerry has lost a lot of credibility and now most Cowboys fans are pissed that he kept McCarthy. It's just not a good look.
Feels like there's more to what was happening in the Cowboys Packers game on the sideline, and I haven't heard anythink more about it: the body language between Dak and CeeDee Lamb and McCarthy having to go and talk to Lamb and at another point had a talk with Dak... what was all that about? Was someone having a panic attack? Was somebody pissed off? Broke up w/their girlfriend during the week?
@@geordiejones5618Exactly! He wants a SB win but he also wants credit for the SB win. His problem is his ego. Let it go. Hire a GM. Let the GM and head coach make player decisions. Let them get you to a SB and be a proud owner.
The frustrating thing about Jerry is I think he has actually done a pretty good job at acquiring talent. They’ve generally done well in the draft, and they rarely have really bad contracts or trades (sure Dak is overpaid, but that is the market for QBs). However, he establishes a poor culture and refuses to hire head coaches that will set their own culture. That’s why I think if it would have worked out (which it may not have), hiring Bill Belichick could have worked perfect - Belichick would have had to give away control of drafting players (which honestly he was not very good at) and Jerry would have had to let him establish a serious culture, and I think it would have been better for both.
The part you are missing: you either have a HC that calls all the shots & therefore you MAY have a Championship Team OR you have a HC that is cucked by the gm/owner at every step & it is IMPOSSIBLE to build/win a championship TEAM... CANNOT HAVE A CONTRADICTION... CAN...NOT...DO...IT...!
I'm not a Cowboys fan, but from a football perspective I can kind of sympathize with the man. I feel like every year when there's a choice for him to make a change, he makes the wrong one. He probably agonizes over and overthinks every football decision, and always ends up coming down on the wrong side of it.
YES its too bad he couldn't just hire some dude he grew up with & has confidence in that won at every level & could build a SB winner from scratch & win/contend every year... OH WAIT- HE DID HAVE THAT in Jimmy Johnson... but he fired him & the LAST SB Title he ever won was the year after when the TEAM that Johnson BUILT was still running on the fumes of Jimmy Johnson after he had been sent away >>> bcuz you see it's NOT JIMMY'S TEAM... IT'S JERRY'S... so TAKE THAT... ahhhhhhhhnd embrace futility ever since bcuz you cannot have BOTH a HC that calls the shots [NECESSARY TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL] AND ALSO at the SAME TIME a HC who is cucked by the owner at every step... CANNOT DO IT >>> so jerry jones is literally conducting a 30 year master class in how HC MUST CALL ALL THE SHOTS to be able to make your team a championship team... by FAILING TO DO/ TO ALLOW- JUST THAT!
I am glad the Cowgirls are keeping McCarthy! Go Niners. I was disappointed when Green Bay got rid of Rodgers, as he was the 49ers gateway to move on in the playoffs. Rodgers was like 1-6 against SF. Dallas and McCarthy can't close out games in the playoffs, and in reality, they can't get a lead either.
🎯🎯💯 I just commented something similar!! Jerry keeping McCarthy is a big gift to the other NFC Playoff teams. If it wasn't Green Bay last week, I'd have bet the house on the Lions coming back into Jerry World this weekend & proving they were screwed a few weeks ago & that they're the better team
As a Packer fan, I’m happy we don’t have either McCarthy or Rodgers anymore. Except for that one lucky super bowl win the duo was so disappointing in the playoffs

What happened in Green Bay at the end of McCarthy's tenure is happening again in Dallas. Opposing defenses are calling out his play calls before they happen. Packer DB's were calling out Cowboy route combinations BEFORE the ball was snapped. The Darnell Savage pick 6 was really him jumping a route he wasn't even covering because the spacing on the play design was so bad TWO Cowboy receivers ended up in the same vicinity. The Jaire interception was him jumping a pivot route by Cooks because the play design was so obvious from their tape study that he wasn't threatened by the fake out (the first half of the pivot route). He just stayed inside Cooks and jumped the route to pick Dak off. McCarthy has not evolved. Nothing will change. Which is great for entertainment's sake, obviously.
He ran a triple slant combo on the wide side of the field on the pick 6. That was something that a player mentioned after the 9er game. McCarthy runs triple slants out of different formations and it is obvious when he likes to run it.
Do not discount how easy it is whenever a DCoord wants to confuse the f...hq out of dak- too easy & they know his reaction- he just ignores what he doesn't understand/hasn't processed in real time & stays with the play even if the DEF is overtly taking that away... GOD forbid the day ever arrive where a DEF taking something away from Dak has to be subtle- it will be like everyone is speaking chinese all of a sudden & he can;t order his supper... the problem is that Fangio began with the Steve Owens UMBRELLA [NYGiants] & began to tinker with it eventually settling on what was a cover6 split field with a cov2 split field... this has evolved into the Trapezoid & Triangle or TRAP-TRI which can be flipped from strong to weak side depending upon where the WR [WR/ TE] strength is on the field... and in these coverages you do NOT have man or zone- you have RULES & unless you process info fast you are properly confused & Dak simply cannot process info fast enough so it's like the DEF Stars get out a color spin wheel or something & spin it & whatever color/whatever it lands on they all agree ok that is a look we will hi jack & then they proceed to do so- it's like a 15- 20 min study to come up with like a 1/2 doz SET PCES that you KNOW- oh when we get that look here's what we do- & then they proceed to do it bcuz Dak continues to make mistakes in year like 8- 9 that QB's are supposed to stop making by year 2... so he is like the polar opposite of wilson- wilson NEVER runs a play as designed EVER- he abandons the pocket & hopes he can make stuff up as he goes along so he NEVER makes a DEF READ & he NEVER goes thru a PROGRESSION- you literally may as well burn the playbook- everyone was so pissed off at Payton's play calling but after 5 weeks he had no choice but to SIMPLIFY the playbook bcuz wilson just ignores everything... so Dak is the opposite he also ignores everything the DEF is showing but what he does is instead of abandoning the pocket & play going full tilt improv on EVERY PLAY- Dak steps up in the pocket & sticks with a play >>> having IGNORED what the DEF is doing >>> he just goes ahead & executes the play anyways... so they BOTH get the SAME RESULT & any time a DCoord & DEF wants to shut down Dak or wilson it's easy peasy & that is the reason this happens everytime Dak shows up in a playoff game & his team mates KNOW THIS which is the reason that they quit as soon as they see OH SAME OLD SH*T as usual might as well check out bcuz that clown will NEVER READ A DEF & ALWAYS EXECUTES THE PLAY AS CALLED regardless of the emergent elements that are supposed to key you off of that particular look & go elsewhere- in the NFL = YOU TAKE WHAT THE DEF GIVES YOU... you take EVERYTHING the DEF gives you but you CANNOT just ignore what they are taking away- those are all PRO BOWL caliber players over there this isn't college or the reg season 5 guaranteed W's EVERY SEASON from within the DIV! TRUTH & FACT!
Comparing the situations of Dallas and Philadelphia, you immediately see they are completely diffferent. Dallas fans have good reason to remain optimistic on their team's chances. There is NO such reason for fans of the Eagles. Something is really wrong in Philadelphia and no one is letting on what the true reason is, but it's bad enough for player's to seemingly phone in their playing in the Wildcard game against Tampa Bay. Even Troy Aikman noticed and mentioned it during on the game's broadcast.
I'm hoping someday we'll see an investigative journalist or something pick up that story and find out what the hell happened to the Eagles. Title of the story should be "Plucked: How The Eagles Lost Their Feathers" or something like that.
Jerry is the smartest man in the room dont you know. He will tank his own team proving he is right/wrong. The guy is single handedly the toughest opponent the Cowboys will ever face. Fire Jerry and solve the whole chitshow.
Steve Young said much the same thing. Essentially, Jerry exercises so much control over the team, the coach (regardless of who it is) is essentially emasculated. Young also pointed out that Jerry has focused so much on the team's BRAND that when a player becomes a Cowboy, he feels famous. Nothing is earned. All these pundits who are using stereotypical cures for a team's woes (fire the coach, draft a quarterback) completely ignore that the Cowboy's owner/coach/players/fans dynamic is unique in the league. Jerry is the problem, and he is only getting older.
Cowboys have gone from among the most prestigious organizations in the NFL to a joke. Now they are memes for futility. And it all goes back to one man - Jerrah.
I'm just over here laughing that the Cowboys moved on from Romo who was 2-4 in the playoffs but was a regular season monster. Romo gets hurt, Dak takes over, and here we are 7 years later but now Dak is a regular season beast and is 2-5 in the playoffs. Time truly is a flat circle.
I remember when the Panthers went 12-4 with delhomme, DeAngelo, smith, Stewart. To lose to Arizona in the first round. Arizona went to super bowl and I was sick. Sucks to be hyped for your team all season and it comes to a crashing haunt
That was heartbreaking. We ran the ball for a huge touchdown on the first drive and then stopped running the ball the rest of the game. Delhomme threw 5 ints. It was a disaster
If you are a TRUE fan, once the decision has been made, you back your team to the end of the earth. Too many fair-weather fans these days! If you can’t back them, take a hike. I will Ride or Die with the Dallas Cowboys ☆ ☆ ☆
I totally agree with that. Before the cowboys had their run in the 90s they had some very bad seasons. They are my team when they had 1 win and when they were winning Superbowls. There are a several teams that have long droughts. There are teams that have great teams but just loose that one game. We even have had bad teams in the NFL that just happen to win that one game and next thing they are in championship games. The Cowboys have been my team since I was a young girl watch with my dad to this day.
Who I am as a man , what does that pertain too coaching I believe all coaches reach a plateau he has reached his . He couldn’t get it done with Arron Rogers how can he die it with a lesser Quarterback in Dak prescott
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They wont change a thing and next year we will be right here again just like before. over and over. Jerry goes around. Love Stephen A!!!
I’ve been telling everyone MM isn’t going anywhere for at least one more year. Dak will be the same, but I am still expecting an extension and expect JJ to try and bring as many players back from this years team as possible. It will be more of the same strategy because they think it’s working and this is the best team they’ve had yet and they think that are still right in the cusp. They are not. But they will search for bargains, extend Dak to make cap space, pay Micah and Ceedee, use the draft as their main way to get talent and they will be in the EXACT SAME PLACE AS LAST YEAR. I don’t expect any improvement next year
It’s getting sadder and sadder listening to Rich caping for coaches that don’t get over the hump. Winning the division is not enough. Most points is not enough. The Eagles have 2 pennants in the last 6 years. Who cares who the coach is? Go get championships and if a guy can’t do it, look for another one.
The truth is that the general football community would be happy to see the Cowboys change their head coach every three years. That chaos is better for their teams. Is it just me, or do teams seem more likely to expect quick success from a coach than they used to? As a Cowboys fan, I'll take the disappointment of an early exit from the playoffs in exchange for a good regualr season winning twice as many games as they lose. That's months of great entertainment. As long as the team doesn't decline from year to year, why are we talking about changing the coach? They got better is so many categories other than playoff wins this season.
Truth!! Thats why he has to have a radio show cause nothing Jerry likes better then hearing himself talk....Great at making money but an idiot when it comes to football.
Here’s my take, in most years where there are mediocre or unproven coaching candidates, I understand this decision notwithstanding the embarrassments in the playoffs. However, this is one of the most loaded football coaching candidate pools I can ever remember. When you have the likes of Belichick and Harbaugh, and then even if you miss on them, Vrabel appears to be a solid option, then keeping Mike is a horrible decision (unless behind the scenes Jerry did contact Belichick and Harbaugh and they told him they are not interested).
Issue with this argument is this path JJ has now chosen will take longer! Current coaching in place won't take the Cowboys to the SB! They'll need to rebuild anyway! 😂 Harbaugh could've gotten them to a SB in 3 years i believe
Man I don't believe anything from this team and ain't expecting anything from this team and y'all are absolutely right a billion trillion 100% 1000% in million percent accurate and what you're saying about Dallas in Jerry Jones
First time I have ever agreed with Dan Eison...Holy Crap, You're absolutely correct and what I was telling everyone and they kept saying "Fire,Fire,Fire, Trade,Trade"...we have a huge foundation and there is the fact it took Mike 5 seasons...to straighten things out
Jerry never wants to admit he is wrong . He was wrong about Romo even if Romo had never been picked by any NFL team in the draft. All QB's after Aikman have never t led the team to a SB even if they have had homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Jerry Jones will still continue to coach the cowboys.
After 2010 season McCarthys Packers choked multiple times in the playoffs, including a 15-1 season where they were 1 and done. No reason to even pay attention to the regular season, just wait till January next year and see what happens.
I am not a cowboys fan in the slightest but if Jerry was worried about losing a coaching candidate to the falcons panthers or raider because they interviewed first then he needs to sell the team. The cowboys, with the roster they have and that brand, should be able to sell anyone on the job.
All they have to do is watch their own film and switch up tendencies and make plays that use their tendencies to catch teams off guard. The offense and defense is too simple and doesn’t give players any advantage. Shanahan doesn’t just roll his team out and run the same plays every week.
@@hightide7662 Ok? It’s on the coach to put the players in better positions instead of just relying on the talent. That’s why they lose to good coaches badly.

@@Kube_Dog there are millions of people happy enough to trot after an enticing dangling carrot, which is all the Cowboys' Superbowl promises are. As long as they keep on paying their hard-earned $$$$$$$$ to JJ, actual winning isn't that important.
@@robch4414You certainly are good at missing the point, aren't you?
Because friends and popularity is more important to jerry
Problem is that these wins and points Rich is talking about are coming from their NFC East competition. So realistically they have a guaranteed 4 wins with the Giants and Commanders and more than likely a split with the Eagles. They have inflated stats by the end of the year and then when push comes to shove they flop out.
That and half of their positive stats come in garbage time
That's pretty disingenuous, to say the least.
@@173jaSon371 They have a losing record against teams with a winning record since McCarthy has been there. They beat up on bad teams.
The cowboys are 13-15 against WINNING teams over the last 3 seasons.
We know they can beat crappy teams, then suddenly the sports media is like OMG!!! Look how good they are!!
Then they play a team at their skill level or better and it's a "shock" lol.
Last year the NFC East had three teams in the playoffs and this year they had two… The Cowboys have a good team… but ‘boys will be ‘boys.
Dak's field of vision in a regualr season game against an average opponent: 150 degrees. Dak's field of vision against a top team or a playoff game: 30 degrees. that's what stress/anxiety does to some people
You could see it in his eyes. 👀
Agreed 100 💯 it’s stress and anxiety. He needs a psychologist
@@jamespanagopoulos5083 I agree. You can see the deer in the headlights look when he plays in the must win games. I don’t know if anyone has addressed this with him but it’s obvious to everyone watching he can’t handle the pressure.
As usual, Rich is too kind. The truth is that JJ effed up again!
Jerry doesn’t play defense
@@socalgolf9978true but Dallas hasn’t won a Superbowl in 28 yrs. Who’s he person that’s been around this team that whole time: Jerry Jones. He’s the head of this organization. He’s the problem overall.
Nope, he tries to play GOD. No general manager. Good luck with that in the future. @@socalgolf9978
He's gonna end up cutting McFatty and Dik Mascot next year, but Belichick and Vrabel won't be available. Maybe he'll end up with Gruden and Garapolo.
Jerry likes head coaches who don't take the spotlight off him.
Sorry dawg. Texans bandwagon has a little room. Texans are Texas team.
28 yrs.....
After next season it will be 29.
Mike mccarthy had aaron rodgers and only been to 1 super bowl and people act like he’s won multiple championships
The same attitude for Rodgers. Wins one Superbowl and thinks he's entitled to winning 4 then sulks
Rodgers hasn’t won anything without McCarthy.
It's very simple. The one thing Jerry Jones absolutely hates, is being told what to do. If you have a bunch of reporters, football analysts, and fans telling Jerry what to do, he's not going to do it.
He also wants a coach that will be subservient to him. Belichick won't.....McCarthy will.
If Jerry wins a SB he wants to have most of the credit for it. To be recognized as the architect on that win. If BB or Harbaugh came and won they would be credited with it.
Underrated point. Rich trying to argue that Jerry doesn't want his ego from the past to cloud his personnel decisions when Jerry's ego puts him front and center every year
Lololol I think you’re right
Because choking in the playoffs is a Dallas tradition since 1996.
Like in a bad marriage sometimes it’s just cheaper to keep her! 😂😂😂
A lesson I never learned 🙄😀
Number 1 offense against losing teams.
2024 is McCarthy's 5th year. He went 6-10 in 2020 in his first year.
Thank you for correcting the record. Rich is becoming more addled by the week.
Next year his show will be called "Grrr... you kids... get off the grass!"
I forgot he had a losing record his 1st year!
Dallas - "We're were within an inch of winning the superbowl, (they weren't) we'll run it back with the same coach and QB and next time it'll be so different." It won't be any different.
Dallas and Steelers are in similar positions. Failing to meet expectations and stuck in mediocrity.
They’re too comfortable with the way things are
The problem with Dak is that he buckles under pressure in pivotal games because he's too self-conscious. He doesn't play to win but plays not to lose.
We cowboy fans must learn to be content with being just a play off team… nothing more
I think the reason he kept McCarthy is more basic: Jerry Jones wants to prove his decision to hire McCarthy was the correct decision. In other words, it is all about Jerry Jones being right.
Unfortunately not a good take Rich. Staying in a relationship cause you’re unsure what’s out there but knowing your partner always comes up short with your expectations is a toxic dynamic.
Here’s why: 1). The Cowboys are still making a TON of money; 2). Everyone still wants to talk TO Jerrah; 3). Everyone is still talking ABOUT Jerrah; 4). Everyone will continue to talk about the Cowboys, because there’s no such thing as bad publicity when it comes to making money. Pockets lined, ego fed, narcissistic personality satisfied
One would think a jets fan like rich would respect winning seasons and playoff births
It's the Cowboys. Everyone gets to rub salt in the wound.
Who cares about regular season wins? I’d rather be a jets fan than a cowboys fan. Jets are taken seriously if they make the playoffs, cowboys are looked at as an easy win.
@lucrative6477 if my team was losing with no chance contending most years I don't think I considered that overperforming
As a Niner Fan, i love it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Give Dak a 6 year extension while your at it Jerry
LOLH
As a Niners fan, I'm so glad they kept McCarthy 😂😂😂 Thank you Jerry!!
I don't blame you. As a Cowboys fan, I congratulate you! 🙂🤝 And good luck in the Super Bowl!👍🏈
Let’s do the exact same thing next year and the regular season and then let Cooper Rush take over the team in the playoffs. Let’s see how that works.
Jerry wants to make money more than win a SB. Call it as it is.
This is a bad argument because look at what happens to every team that wins: they make a shitload of money.
@@geordiejones5618Exactly! He wants a SB win but he also wants credit for the SB win. His problem is his ego. Let it go. Hire a GM. Let the GM and head coach make player decisions. Let them get you to a SB and be a proud owner.
The Cowboys have been flopping in the post season long before McCarthy showed up
If you can't learn from your mistakes . . . PERPETUALLY . . . your success becomes dependent solely on your luck.
The problem is Dak, not McCarthy
Dak makes 60 mil next year, lol.
I agree with all your points, but yes Dak has an awful contract.
The part you are missing:
you either have a HC that calls all the shots & therefore you MAY have a Championship Team
OR you have a HC that is cucked by the gm/owner at every step & it is IMPOSSIBLE to build/win a championship TEAM...
The man is 81 years old, AL Davis#2
PERFECT COMP- and worse Davis actually did know what he was talking about but again tho you either have a HC that calls all the shots & therefore you MAY have a Championship Team
OR you have a HC that is cucked by the gm/owner at every step & it is IMPOSSIBLE to build/win a championship TEAM...
CANNOT HAVE A CONTRADICTION... CAN...NOT...DO...IT...!
I appreciate Jerry Jones dedication to coaches but sometimes you need to go for it all.
No rich, it’s a terrible decision. Jerry Jones talking about regular season wins instead of playoffs success. Jerry Jones is the problem.
Yet you voted for 9 of his players to the pro bowl. Cant you see how ignorant your comment makes you sound?
Steve Young said much the same thing.
Essentially, Jerry exercises so much control over the team, the coach (regardless of who it is) is essentially emasculated.
Young also pointed out that Jerry has focused so much on the team's BRAND that when a player becomes a Cowboy, he feels famous. Nothing is earned.
All these pundits who are using stereotypical cures for a team's woes (fire the coach, draft a quarterback) completely ignore that the Cowboy's owner/coach/players/fans dynamic is unique in the league.
Jerry is the problem, and he is only getting older.

Until Jerry is no longer the owner the team will always have problems pulling great coaches and will never get over the hump.
Cowboys have gone from among the most prestigious organizations in the NFL to a joke. Now they are memes for futility. And it all goes back to one man - Jerrah.
This is a sick groundhog day
I'm just over here laughing that the Cowboys moved on from Romo who was 2-4 in the playoffs but was a regular season monster. Romo gets hurt, Dak takes over, and here we are 7 years later but now Dak is a regular season beast and is 2-5 in the playoffs. Time truly is a flat circle.
Well put
Cowboys need a tougher schedule
They woulda been 8-9 and out of the playoffs altogether.
They need a TOUGHER TEAM
If Jones did fire him, how long would it take for the next coach to start winning?
If Belicheat like the next second obviously but belicheat is exactly the ONE THING Jerry can't tolerate
Jerry Jones has made huge money for himself and NFL. However as a football GM, he has been an overall failure.
I remember when the Panthers went 12-4 with delhomme, DeAngelo, smith, Stewart. To lose to Arizona in the first round. Arizona went to super bowl and I was sick. Sucks to be hyped for your team all season and it comes to a crashing haunt
Sure does. Sucks
Great piece.
Who I am as a man , what does that pertain too coaching I believe all coaches reach a plateau he has reached his . He couldn’t get it done with Arron Rogers how can he die it with a lesser Quarterback in Dak prescott
Nah Rich, Jerry Jones is settling with mediocrity because he doesn’t want to give away power to a HC with a strong personality.
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They wont change a thing and next year we will be right here again just like before. over and over. Jerry goes around. Love Stephen A!!!
Groundhog Day indeed
Jerry Jones is old bro. He's thinking that starting over might mean never seeing a championship.
I fired Jerry Jones the day he fired Jimmy Johnson! Jerry is dedicated to losing with coaches that are subservient to him.
If you want to win in the playoffs you have to change ; insanity is doing things over and over again expecting different results
Jerry is all about Jerry he is not going to hire a coach that would take any of the spotlight.
Harbaugh could've gotten them to a SB in 3 years i believe
Man I don't believe anything from this team and ain't expecting anything from this team and y'all are absolutely right a billion trillion 100% 1000% in million percent accurate and what you're saying about Dallas in Jerry Jones
Because they will never sniff the NFC championship long as Jerry is alive.
better go check the schedule for dallas next year its brutal...they will be lucky to be 9-7
Mike is like the NFL version of doc rivers. Great floor raiser that’s about it.
I think that is a pretty solid comparison
Both coaches only have 1 ring each while also having top 3 rosters every other year. It’s crazy when you think about it, but it makes sense.
Trey Lance should start and bench Prescott!
Jerry Jones.... Bought his way to the HOF.
He's not as Savvy as He sells himself to be....
So happy! Looking forward to another one and done crash next year for Dem Boys!
First time I have ever agreed with Dan Eison...Holy Crap, You're absolutely correct and what I was telling everyone and they kept saying "Fire,Fire,Fire, Trade,Trade"...we have a huge foundation and there is the fact it took Mike 5 seasons...to straighten things out
Deion NEXT Year.
The buck stops with the owner, & this one hasn't gone to the show in nearly three decades.
If the Cowboys regress next year (which seems likely), this decision is going to really look bad.
But for the rest of us, this is just hilarious.
Wow the Dak denial continues. Who are the Packers receivers? Put Jordan Love on the Dallas Cowboys and we are instantly Super Bowl favorites
So blessed my Steelers have the
Rooneys.
You should get Larry David on the show imitating your cohost. That be HILARIOUS. thank me later.
I am not a cowboys fan in the slightest but if Jerry was worried about losing a coaching candidate to the falcons panthers or raider because they interviewed first then he needs to sell the team. The cowboys, with the roster they have and that brand, should be able to sell anyone on the job.
Cowboys are in cap hell. It’s not a good job. Going to be a major rebuild with no cap space.
All they have to do is watch their own film and switch up tendencies and make plays that use their tendencies to catch teams off guard. The offense and defense is too simple and doesn’t give players any advantage. Shanahan doesn’t just roll his team out and run the same plays every week.
The qb also falls off a cliff every playoffs
@@hightide7662 Ok? It’s on the coach to put the players in better positions instead of just relying on the talent. That’s why they lose to good coaches badly.
Rich also said Dallas would ROFL stomp Green Bay on Sunday morning countdown last week... so of course he enjoys the few times he's right.
Pretty much everybody picked Dallas
@socalgolf9978 yep.
And now all the same people are saying that it was obvious Dallas would lose because of how the Packers matched up against Dallas.😂😂😂
McCarthy had Rodgers for 13 seasons & won 1 superbowl. He is not a good coach
Chris is so right on this
Life long Cowboys fan...this is terrible. More spare football to come.
Jerry must've found out that Belichick is already headed to Atlanta, or somewhere else. I'm sure there's something like that behind this move.
I “was” a hyper Cowboys fan… now I am just a fan along with other teams equally. I have two teams still in the playoffs that I will root for this weekend and hopefully one will make it to the Super Bowl. Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans. I don’t lose any sleep on the Cowboys anymore.
