I love how you explain shoe lineups, like you did for the Puma deviate Elite. With so many options it can be hard to keep track for if you are trying to do a shoe brand for a marathon training block. You explain it so ik what a typical lineup of shoes would look like in a marathon training block. Very helpful!
It is pretty normal that in one year a famous shoes have a low weight and the next year it gains weight and gets less versatile, but gain more comfort. And vice-versa. I'm sure that next year the Triumph 23 will lose some weight and so the Pegasus 42, Gel-Nimbus 27 etc. While a few will lose weight. Just normal for every brand, including shoes like a Mizuno wave Rider that gains or loses some weight every year. Almost the same shoes but with tweaks to make it either faster or more confortante and so gains a bit of weight.
@@elijahdouglas1560 I had a similar feeling of what has happened from the Triumph 21 to the 22th version with my falei l favorite Gel-Nimbus of an tube, the version 24 (lightweight and it was almost as nimble as a Pegasus 36 but with the comfort of a Ultraboost). The Gel-Nimbus 25 was awesome, anyways, but it went intui a way too diferent direction ... anyways, the Nova Blast 4 it Gel-Cumulus 26 are almost as good and versatile as the old Gel-Nimbus 24. Great video! I really like my Triumph 22s. I agree with your comparison to the Nimbus 25 IF you leave the 7mm ortholite sock liner in this shoe. I think a lot of people want the Triumph 22 to remain a “cushioned daily trainer” versus a max cushion shoe. The antidote for them is to buy the Ride 17, which features a full PWRRUN+ midsole like the prior Triumph shoes. The antidote for ME was to replace the ortholite sock liner with a PWRRUN+ sock liner. The shoe has been “giggles” fun since then.
Triumph 20, best shoe I’ve ever had so far (running since 2007). 1000km on them (long, tempo, threshold runs), still very comfortable, bouncy and looking like new
I’m pretty sure new version changed for the worse in terms of durability of foam resilience …. Beaded tpu foam in prior version is longer lasting than peba blend in this new version.
I didnt really like my T20s that much, they felt heavy n clunky, not that bouncy either, although I appreciated it could pick up the pace on them, they always felt abit cumbersome, for me they always felt abit firm n stiff. It had so many good reviews so maybe I was expecting them to be abit more fun, also, the 10mm drop was a bit too much, now that I’ve put on nearly 500miles on them, they finally feel broken in n like them a little bit more. One time I took out the insole n they felt much lighter but the midsole felt even firmer, but one thing for sure, they r built like tanks
As a lightweight heel striker, I was in store to find some cushioned shoes and I tried exactly these 3 pairs (More v4, triumph 22 and nimbus 25) alongside the brooks glycerin. I ended up going for the nimbus as the Brooks and Saucony felt unresponsive/firm to me and when trying I immediately liked the ride and toe-rocker of the nimbus 25 more. The shoe was more lively than those 2 previous shoes to me while being slightly more stable than the New balance. Great video thank you for the review !
This shoe surprised me, as I don't usually go for so much cushion, yes so different to 20 and 21, the Ride more like the triumph now. Certainly plush and cush. But I found I was still bobbing along nicely 👌
It really seems like most shoe companies don't pay attention to summer running in recovery shoes. Just because it's max cush it doesn't have to be so warm.
Mentioning the Triumph 17 finally convinced me of giving the 22’s a shot. That was my favorite version. I got the 18’s after and didn’t like them. The 19’s were the next best thing and I’ve ran in them since. Seeing and reading the reviews for the 20-21’s didn’t make me wanna give those versions a try. Now with a full bed of Powerrun PB and a new midsole design, I think I’ll give this one a try.
Awesome video, was hoping you'd compare it to the Nimbus 25 during the video. Glad to know how they stack up to each other now! I might actually go for the Triumph 22 once I retire my Nimbus 25 down the line as I probably won't find any more Nimbus 25's since I'm skipping the 26's for the same reasons you mentioned about them.
I eagerly awaited the release of this shoe and the weight and especially the non breatheable upper disappointed. The powerrun PB feels nothing like my Endorphin Speed 3’s. Bought the lighter, more breatheable and versatile Triumph 21 on a discount and it’s the best shoe I own. Love it.
Triumph is my top 3 shoe next to hoka mach 4, and pretty much any new balance tc,rc,rebel, beacon, impulse, propel also saucony speed 2 top 5... brook ghosts is the better for all around walking where triumph to me gets a little bit more comfortable on slow jog speeds , but its comfy to walk in but ghost still feel better all around for a beginner i recommended all those though ❤you kofuzi!
A good reason not to update my Triumph 21 with 1300+ km. Outsole holding Up great and midsole feels fresh as new. Upper still fully functional...I will try to get 2000km in 21 instead of going after 22
Interesting comparison with the More v4, especially as I’m awaiting delivery of the Triumph 22. The More V4 was great for up to 150-200 miles, but the fresh foam definitely loses the freshness much quicker than other foams, and the outsole was appalling and completely worn by 230miles. Really hope the powerrn pb lasts longer as I loved it in the endorphin pro 3 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I enjoyed the way these felt under foot but after 50km I decided to sell them because of the upper. I should’ve gone half a size down from my usual as I just couldn’t get a good lockdown. Plus, it was simply too warm to use in summer.
Why? Why? Mess with another line that was a monster of a shoe (Triumph 20, 21) for long runs, my last pair went to 400 miles plus and was solid. Very disappointed, but I am so glad we have professionals review these new models, updates, so we know what to buy and for what purpose. I am really enjoying how you’re incorporating the whole line review for us runners!
Park closed? Not for Mr. Fuzi! 😛Interesting idea to give your entire lineup race-calibre foam. Will have to see how the market responds. I still have a pair of Triumph 18's that I never wear because they're too slow and heavy for me. (My idea of a recovery shoe is NB4. 🤷) I only bought them because they were a gorgeous shade of teal. I know. I'm dumb like that. I do like how the entire Saucony line shares a design language now. I might be tempted by a runshield version of this shoe.
I’m 200lbs to me shoes like the nb 1080v13 or the Nimbus 26 are too squishy they deconstruct to much under every stride so I enjoy that shoes way more feels more responsive
@@jimperry4420 well I have way too many shoes but right now still loving my Triumph 22 of course + adidas boston 12 and endorphin speed 4 as training speed tempo shoes and I love my Brooks Hyperion Max 2
Great review 👍 is the Hurricane model good ? If you had to choose one shoe take on vacation to walk around alot what would you pick ? Like a everyday shoe
I just bought the GTX modle for a 16 mile trail race with this shoe let's see how it goes and I have alot of feet issues so hope this helps me in the long race in the woods.
I think the slower response, while having something to do with lack of plate, is mostly due to the super thick ortholite insole. If you put endorphin pro insole in it, the shoe will feel much faster.
Hey, I recently switched from the Nike Invincible Run 2 to the Asics Novablast 4, and I've been experiencing pain on the outside of my feet. Is this normal, or should I give the shoes some time to break in? Thank you for your advice.
No love for the Saucony Tempus in the line up? I use it for my daily trainer and it’s great imo. Lighter and more responsive than the Ride but more relaxed for slower/longer runs than the Speed 4 (which I use for faster runs).
There are certainly a lot of runners who enjoy the Tempus. When I do a brand explainer, I usually don’t include the stability shoes. But they tend to either/or options. Instead of the Ride, you’d be looking at the Tempus. Instead of the Kinvara Pro, you might consider the Endorphin Shift.
I would recommend you ask Doctors of Running. They have a deep familiarity with the stability shoe landscape. I avoid running in stability shoes when possible
I loved the RFGs (and the 21's...they're the same, right?) for daily training. Not sure how I feel about this being a max cushion shoe now, but there are other shoes in my rotation that can replace those when I retire them as trainers. Curious about the Nimbus comparison bc I also love the Nimbus 25s for recovery and "pampering" of my feet after a hard session haha. Prob my fav of the nimbus as I've worn quite a few versions of it. Thanks for the review Ko!
On my 2nd pair of the Triumph 21. I like it as a trainer. But based on your suggestion, I will give the NB More v4 a try and it may be a good transition shoes while the Triumph 22 comes down on price or NB may win me over. Have you review the Nike Alphafly... ? Thanks for what you do.
I just bought this shoe because I want to do good times in the 100m and 1000m. I wonder if I made the right choice or could I find something better for this money But it felt good on my foot when I tried it on and I'm in a good mood.
I love and still have the Triumph 20. Seems like this is a departure. Have you tried the Hurricane 24 Mike? Many shoetubers seem to be gravitating that way for versatility over this model.
Outstanding review Mike thank you. I’ve been a Triumph fan since V17 and the 20 has been my favourite. I’m on my 2nd pair and with just 200 miles on them I’m not convinced that the £160 price tag for the 22 to upgrade is worth risking. I think that maybe saucony are experimenting with the design and make up of this shoe and hopefully some of the faults that are well documented about it will be ironed out in V23. Just hope my 20’s last til then! Thank you. Ian 🇬🇧
Saucony hasn't sent the Ride for me to test, but I'm personally thinking that it makes more sense for the Ride to be like what they were trending with the previous Triumphs while creating more of a distinct max cushion experience with the new Triumphs. That would give all types of Triumph fans something to enjoy in the lineup.
@@sheldonjanuary4058 hopefully he will make a video about it. The community is intetested to know since this shoe has recieved loads of critisism and the novablast rates skyhigh. I personal don't believe there is such a big difference between the two but a review would be awesome.
I got this shoe, honestly my least favorite triumph. Its ok, but I get pressure spots on lateral pad of my right foot. It genuinely hurts. (Hopefully it'll go away with wear?)... Then the colors... The men's colors are so plain and boring. Nothing like the previous cool colors before. Overall I feel like its super clunky, which I'm sad about, cause I was super excited for this shoe. Maybe the next version I'll like better. :)
They’re pretty different. If you want a max cushion relaxed experience, go with the Triumph. If you want a lightweight daily trainer, go with the Rebel. imo, each is near the top of its respective class. They’re just in different classes.
I don't think you can propose More V4 as an alternative to Triumph 22. More V4 has a much lower drop that to me even feels negative due to the channel under heel. Even though Triumph 22 has 10 mm drop and the foam might be a bit more squishy, I still don't think they are comparable to each other. If someone comes from Triumph 20/21 and switches to More V4, they will have a bad day. People said that Nimbus 25 was an oven in terms of upper and you say that it's still better than Triumph, big Saucony yikes! I feel that it might be even better to compare Triumph 22 to Ride 17 that has taken over old Triumph design, foam and made it a bit more stable. They are comparable in terms of weight and Ride has only 2 mm less stack on paper even though it's PwrRun+ vs PwrRunPB. It's a shame you didn't have that model on hand. Thanks for the review!
This is a testament to the recommendation I frequently give people: Find a reviewer who likes the same things you like. Other reviewers may experience things differently to you, and it's not wrong. It's just that different people have different feet and different preferences. I completely disagree with just about everything you say. I'm not saying you or I are wrong. I just suspect that the shoes you love are not the shoes I love. And the shoes I think are soft are likely not the shoes that you think are soft.
it only further exemplifies what I said in the video, that "it's a great time to be a runner" there's something for every person and every preference right now.
@@kofuzi Fully agree. There are so many shoes right now that you should be able to find a specific model that works for your biomechanics. I believe that you're more (late?) midfoot to forefoot runner so More V4 might suit you better than me since you would most likely just skip the heel and go directly into rockered front of the shoe. In Triumph with its high drop I feel that it mostly caters to heel strikers who enjoy higher drop with more foam to compress in the heel and More V4 in that case is the complete opposite. In Triumph you have to press the foam more for the bounce while in More you will fall through the space in the heel if you try the same running technique. I'm also jaded towards More V4 as I had high hopes for it after many reviews but they just didn't work for me: ridge/space under heel combined with low drop and soft foam, too wide/loose for TTS or too short if sized down, short tongue that didn't hold me properly and failed to protect from stiff collar that would rub against the front of my leg. One of the only shoes I had to runner knot to make it work. Nimbus 25 makes more sense to me from your suggestions so I just wanted to relate what might motivate someone towards picking one over the other. I can't wait to hear your feedback about Ride 17. The changes sound great but I'm just a bit wary about the eyelets formed out of a lace which one of the reviewers tore on their first try/lace-up. I hope Saucony will do their typical stuff and release a newer model with sturdier eyelets and reduced weight in Ride 18. Cheers!

Эти или nimbus 26?
These or nb rebel 4 ko??
They’re pretty different. If you want a max cushion relaxed experience, go with the Triumph. If you want a lightweight daily trainer, go with the Rebel.
imo, each is near the top of its respective class. They’re just in different classes.
You need to review the Ride 17 Kofuzi... I hated its ride so much I threw it in the garbage after 3 runs [about 13.5km each]. Slappy and just awful.
yeah. totally sounds like something I should review
I got the white, and immediately spilled diesel fuel on them 😢

My guy , don’t build us a watch. Just tell us the time.
ironic that you'd use an oblique metaphor to admonish me to be more succinct
This is a testament to the recommendation I frequently give people:
Find a reviewer who likes the same things you like.
Other reviewers may experience things differently to you, and it's not wrong. It's just that different people have different feet and different preferences. I completely disagree with just about everything you say. I'm not saying you or I are wrong. I just suspect that the shoes you love are not the shoes I love. And the shoes I think are soft are likely not the shoes that you think are soft.
it only further exemplifies what I said in the video, that "it's a great time to be a runner"
there's something for every person and every preference right now.
Cheers!
Low drop kills my calves.
BONDI 8 best shoes running ultra soft of the history.
Thanks HOKA .
I'm glad you've found something you enjoy!
Yo, what’s going on!!!
