Extremely useful to me. Built an electric YZ250 and gives me a lot of ideas how to increase safety and functionality.

This is a great video series. Your method of presentation and the clear and concise way that you speak makes the subject matter easy to comprehend. Thank you!

6:00 Optoisolators are your friend for this application. Usually use a combination of 3 types of switches for HV Li battery arrays, a single use fuse for safety, a Mosfet for soft disconnect, and a heavy duty relay for enable and disable main power to subsystems. ❤

    great video!
In a low voltage system, cutting of the pack while discharging isn't too much of a problem due to low voltage low current.
Do you have experience of power cut off with contactor with high voltage systems? (400V-800V)
Will you have arching issues or di/dt spikes that may potentially break the contactor?
    Thanks!

Also a Pyro fuse can be used for to disconnect the system much faster than relay for 800V BMS

Yup those are good for large HV solar arrays 600A at 1200VDC is mighty hard to interrupt reliably with normal breakers as well.

Thanks a lot for the video. Can we connect modules in combination of series-parallel to get same power rating?

Not really. You don't want to expose your cells to too much current on charge or discharge. the configuration of the cells series and parallel depends on the amount of current you expect to push into or pull out of the battery.

Thanks a lot for your video, that's simplied and easy to understand. I am fairuz from indonesian, we have a rnd team. It focus on bms development for light electric vehicle. We have some issues about bms architecture with p channel mosfet. Do you have some reference or suggest about that issues? Thanks!
