Glad somebody posted this up as I was lucky enough to be one of the officials for the game and actually awarded the goal to Frank de Boer for the first equaliser. A great game from both teams.

The group was divided into the strongest three in Portugal, Ireland and the Netherlands, and the weakest three in Cyprus, Estonia and Andorra.
However, as we can see from the Dutch fight in this match, the Netherlands were slumping at the moment.
The Netherlands lost two ties and two losses against Portugal and Ireland, losing the qualifying zone, despite winning three lower ranked home and away countries.
As a Japanese, I was disappointed to lose the Dutch qualifying at this 2002 competition.
