Louis van Gaal had plenty of moments of brilliance during that World Cup. That flexible 5-3-2 formation put Spain into a lot of trouble, and then he made a few switches to use Dirk Kuyt and Daryl Janmaat to mark Alexis Sánchez individually against Chile. Then in the Round of 16 against Mexico, he put Huntelaar especially for the penalties, and it came in handy for that infamous Robben dive. And then this happened.

Their keeper was a lot better than ours, he was like early 40's but a real veteran, Allan McGregor type guy so I knew I needed to place the ball with power to beat him. He seemed to know exactly where everyone was going to put their shots so I decided to shoot with my weaker foot since I didn't exactly know which way I would go I figured he probably wouldn't either. You need to once get in the shooter's head and then watch knees and non striking foot position.
