    0:58 I don't know if the animator did it intentionally but the walking animation of that character resembles that stiff cadence the NPCs have in the original game. This looks awesome!

    Fantastic work! You did an amazing job! It captures the essence of the original, as well as faithfully fleshing it out. Do those emperor parasols featured towards the end of the video not have any textures yet or are they just supposed to look blue/grey? Would love to see another render with different variations of the weather, too! Great job!

    • @proletarianx_art
      @proletarianx_art  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Dan! Good to hear from you! Thanks for the kind words - it's been a pure pleasure to work on this project even though it felt too ambitious sometimes. You will understand :)
      The parasols are definitely weak points, they are textured alright but this lighting setup does them no favor. Already had no juice left for retexturing when I decided to change the lighting from day-light. Even went for simple emissive decals to light them up real quick instead of making proper emissive textures.

    • @DanKoetter
      @DanKoetter 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@proletarianx_art Haha I do understand how ambitious it is and I respect the time and detail you put into it while honoring the original. That's a shame about getting to the texturing of the parasols, but I totally understand! Those are such an iconic element to Morrowind that it's imperative to get those looking good, and something I still need to make from scratch (I'm still using a combo of paid assets for mine as placeholders). Are you still working on this or is it in a kind of limbo state like mine is? (It was fun to work on and get it to an early demo stage, but not sure what point there is to continue since it's not an original IP, though I still try to tinker with it every now and then)

    • @proletarianx_art
      @proletarianx_art  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@DanKoetter Well I never intended to make more of this project than just some renders. Plus, to push UE5 to its limits and see what it's capable of realtime. So no further plans, except relighting somewhat later in the future wtih newer versions of the engine. Meanwhile working on some other environment projects for VR. Really liked your demo, it inspired me back then. I hope you will finish it if only for the joy the process of creation brings in and of itself. Cheers!

    • @DanKoetter
      @DanKoetter 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@proletarianx_art I totally understand. I never intended to work on that Vivec project in the first place even haha, so I get it. It's just a quick passion project that just kind of "happened" lol. And thanks man, I'm glad it inspired you; that was actually totally the reason I even posted the video at all! I was hoping somebody else would take that idea and run with it (preferably at Bethesda though haha), and do it even better, and you did, honestly! And likewise, I've got some VR projects that I'm focusing on currently. Best of luck to you!

    I love what you can do in Unreal 5 so much. Glad I picked it.
    It can be super realistic, but personally I prefer a wonderful stylization you can pull off with it too.

    • @proletarianx_art
      @proletarianx_art  8 месяцев назад +2

      Unreal is amazing and it will only get better.
      If you're asking for a link to a demo, I'm afraid the sole purpose of this project was making some renders only. I guess I'll make more variations over time.

      почему Беседка так и не задумалась о ремейке игры? очень многим бы зашло. Морра это единственная реально годная часть Свитков. Обливион и Скурим скучные, нет в них той волшебной атмосферы и сюжета. А предыдущие перед Моррой совсем примитивные по графике и интерфейсу.

    I'm making Balmora in blender, more like a cinematic, concept of a realistic huge trading city. I think google knows everything I do on my computer because I didn't look for this video lol.
    Did you sculpt the houses with remesh and then remesh them somewhere like in ZBrush and then just procedural UV them? I spent months trying to get what I want with SubD modeling so I can UV them right after, but now I just roughly model them and then remesh and don't care about UV, I just use Triplanar UVs and that works great. Sorry it's late night I don't know if I made any sense

    • @proletarianx_art
      @proletarianx_art  3 месяца назад

      I personally modeled the houses coz I knew I would use trim textures on them and needed clean UV’s. But if triplanar projection works for you - go for it! Really looking forward to seeing your work!

    • @woodoyoy
      @woodoyoy 3 месяца назад

      @@proletarianx_art the problem is that the houses are so smooth and there are a lot of arches like on the windows and doors that have to have smooth transitions. Modeling it with bevels or subdivisions was just impossible for me. Your transitions look quite smooth where I can see them, did you use some techniques or modular approach?

    • @proletarianx_art
      @proletarianx_art  3 месяца назад

      @@woodoyoy No particular techique, just regular subdiv modeling. I first made some low poly base meshes that I later used modularly for making house variations along the way. The transitions were quite easy to model in subdiv tbh.
