- For the first time in years, Naruto receives a mission that will keep him out of Konoha during the Bon festival. Even though he knows it's unnecessary, Naruto worries about not being by Sasuke's side as performs the remembrance ceremony for his deceased relatives.

Lately and by that I mean to this very moment, I noticed that most of the videos I've posted are kinda sad or emo if I were to base this uncanny fact from comments like: 'This is so sad Q.Q or i cried DX or This reminds me of my pet goldfish who died a year ago from a jogging accident TTnTT /wrist.'
I'd like you guys to have a little break from all the drama. So today I got out of bed, determined to bring forth humor and joy to my videos that'll soon to come.

so basically naruto's worried that he'll die on his mission and so to keep sasuke from suicide he gives him the tomato plant basically to remind him to take care of himself. i guess naruto dies on the mission and that's when sasuke is about to kill himself that he 'visit's' him (either spirit, subconscious, idk) but anyway naruto reminds him that he has to take care of the plant, and not to give up on life because of his death, and sasuke responds with 'as if i know anything about growing tomatos' which means he has no purpose in living. :"(( It took me two times to get it, so sad and deep and beautiful. :"""")

But Sasuke's solid in his belief that it isn't real because Naruto doesn't love him. 'If I'm here than I don't exist.' His disbelief... 'I won't be reflected in blue this blue anymore.' Sasuke is talking about himself being reflected in Narutos eyes.... But because he thinks this isn't real and Naruto doesn't love him, he lets himself slip into death. ..... Yup about it. I rest my case that both of them could have lived but only Naruto did. Naruto could've tried to die in the same lake after but we'll never know

"As if I know anything about growing tomatoes" is a line a think symbolizes that Sasuke is willing to live on, but just seems like it's being exaggerated.
Naruto did notice the ninjas. That's why he cut Sai off in the middle of the conversation and said "let's wrap this up", as in, the mission.
Also, Sasuke says that if he "stays here' (in the darkness with his dead relatives) he won't be reflected in the blue (of Naruto's eyes), because nothing else exists in the darkness. He has to leave that darkness to be with Naruto.
I don't think it's meant to be up to interpretation, as it's pretty much spelled out in black and white exactly what happens.

So we never really know either Naruto died or not, but from my perspective I think Naruto's still alive, because Naruto said "Let's wrap this up" when the others ninja ready to attack them, I think it's because Naruto already know that the enemies will attack them at that time, so the enemies never catch them off guard... And he's arrived in time when Sasuke thinking about dying and stop him, well that's my opinion, but who knows?

I just thought that Sasuke was being his regular emo self and in a moment of weakness tried to chase someone dead (Itachi), and Naruto happened to arrive from the mission at that moment. So Naruto just reminds him that Sasuke has to stay to take care of the tomato (to be with him).
I think you guys are just reading too deeply into it. :D

Naruto doesn't die. Naruto is worried about Sasuke because he won't be there to go to Bon festival with him, and he's worried Sasuke will like, kill himself. So Naruto takes a tomato plant (Sasuke's favourite) for him to watch over; like giving Sasuke a reason to live, basically, to take care of the plant.
Sasuke freaks out a bit during Bon festival and Naruto arrives in time to stop him and remind Sasuke that he has something to live for (tomato plant).
Now does it make sense?

Ella Wofford i had the same idea...but i like to say that naruto died during the mission and is telling sasuke to not go suicidal so he can 'take care of the tomato plant' and live on with his life.

I thought they were just in a friendship/ borderline romantic relationship and they visit the Uchiha graves every year only this time, Sasuke wants to go alone and Naruto worries that he might leave the village again like he did before. Thats probably why he was saying "you can't go Sasuke you can't go".

naruto died because the people ambushed him and sai. and I think the little light thingies were floating on water and he was in the water watchiing them...and he went to chase one and them naruto's spirit saved him..or something..I didn't know naru died..I just thought he came back..i read he died on comments..
