9:07 - You might wonder why the high latitudes remain cool during their summer months, given the long (if not continuous) daylight hours. The answer is the atmosphere existing and the relatively low sun angle. The atmosphere reflects off more sunlight when the sun is at a lower angle. If you're at a mid latitude, compare your midday summer and winter photos (outdoors when it's sunny). You'll notice the winter photos have longer shadows, but importantly you may also notice their lighting is a bit yellow. That's from the atmosphere reflecting off a very significant percentage of sunlight, because in winter the sun stays pretty low in the sky at mid latitudes - comparable to the poles in summer. If the atmosphere didn't exist, the high latitudes would in fact receive a lot more daily radiation than the equator around the solstice. The ice certainly helps, but the atmosphere's reflection plays an even bigger role.

is the declination the same as the magnetic declination when you set a compass to true north?

Thank you for the explanation..I'm here for this but I keep thinking, If people really use their hbrains it's pretty easy to figure out that someone out there made these systems for Mankind to live in. I believe in God!

6:12 What a dumb explanation. The reason is simple. There is more sunlight in Northern hemisphere. More sunglight more heat.
