As a Catholic the last supper represents a lot to us. It is the very first Christian mass conducted and also Jesus is giving his body and blood to us as sacrifice, for worship to God and the forgiveness of sins.
This is gonna be a legendary scene.
Possibly my favorite of the entire series!

I like it how in The Chosen you can see the apostles and jesus having dinner together for several nights throughout the show, and the "Last Supper" will literally be the last supper
helps the audiences connect to the last supper way easier.

Jesus is eating at a meal in a house with his disciples when many tax collectors and sinners join them
It's not. He eats multiple times after his resurrection.

My local church has always dramatized the Last Supper as part of our Maundy Thursday service. As a kid it was a nice way of learning the story and imagining what it would have been like to be in that room.
I would have loved to see a dramatized scene of the Last Supper in church. That surly would be cool!
My heart breaks a little more every time I watch season 4 and any of your videos.

Meaning….she who holds the Lord dear and with reverence shall be praised. The word fear doesn’t mean scared or frightening. Many people misread the term fear.

The Last Supper room in the Chosen looks like Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper.
Actually it doesn't. It looks more like a Jewish feast, where the table is sectioned with two tables turned lengthwise from the center table. DaVinci's passover was one long table stretched across a very big room.
My theory is that episode 7 will be about the first part of the Last Supper: the Jewish rituals of Passover, then the body and blood of Christ, the washing of feet, and ends with Judas leaving to betray Jesus.
Episode 8 will continue the last supper, now without Judas, and will have Jesus teaching and answering the disciples' questions, singing the hymn, praying (John 17) and going to Gethsemane. It ends with Judas approaching with the guards.
I could see that for sure. Though I do think we’ll see the betrayal as the climax of the season. It just makes more sense than starting season 6 with it.
Perhaps the man standing in the room is that "certain man" from the Gospel?

I think these moments will be my favorite of the entire series. The washing of the feet, the introduction of communion, the announcement of Judas betrayal. Sooo much to come.

I would be surprised if Dallas does the last supper with stools and them all sitting up because as you say people reclined in that time period and till now Dallas has been so authentically perfect in how things were back then for example the length of their hair and robes and the many Jewish traditions however if it’s done as the video then it must be for a good reason!

This is the upper room. It looks like the place in Jerusalem which I was told had been built in Crusader times. Maybe it was rebuilt but the arches are the same. In Jerusalem it is above King David’s “tomb”
Well, historically, it wasn't. In fact, Golgotha was the garbage dump outside the city. The tomb would have been carved out of the rocks in the mountainous area.

In Luke's gospel, Jesus tells Peter and John to go see the man with the upper room. Mark's gospel also gives the same details of looking for the man with the water. So I can see that John Mark could be the man with the upper room since he is the writer of that gospel.
Brandon, do you think it would be more difficult to film the last supper with pillows and lounging instead of tables and stools? Since they filmed Herod's banquet that way I would think they could also do the last supper that way.
We’ve seen tables and chairs used before, especially for important meals like Shabbat.
Maybe it will be easier to show the washing of the feet with them elevated above Jesus. Liked Jesus was when Mary anointed His feet.
Jesus gives His body & blood at the Last Supper, this is done at the table. The table is necessary bc the table is the altar.
Yes they used tables, but they were low to the floor for them to lounge around. IDK for sure - I'm no expert. I'm just repeating what the "experts" have said.

Probably not, there's no real evidence of Luke until about 20 years or so from now. He was also potentially a gentile, so he wouldn't be here during that time. He's mainly a companion of Paul and didn't ever see Jesus himself.

What do we know about the Gospel writers for sure? Do we know when Luke was actually born? He was a Gentile physician, right? Greek? Roman? Old enough to be aware of Jesus & then being emersed in Him by Paul later on? 🤔
That would be great for a study on Snipe Life! Episodes about who people like Mark, Luke, Timothy, etc were, what's known about them, how they became followers, who they worked with, where on the map they traveled, who may have spread their writings, and so on! Many people know OF them, but not about them. And new converts probably know nothing. 'Twould be great! ❤

It doesn’t say the exact location. Just that it was in someone’s upper room that was furnished and ready for a Passover.

Where are the women? So far, Dallas has gone to great lengths to be sensitive to the hearts of women and really elevate their stories and their roles in Jesus' ministry. And yet, the first clips we have of the Last Supper look pretty male-only. Are you telling me Jesus wanted to have His final meal with just the 12? No Eema? No Mary Magdalene? No Tamar or Joanna or Eden? What Jewish Passover excludes family members? WHERE. ARE. THEY. In the kitchen doing the dishes? I think not. Did they suddenly all have a hair appointment? No way. From its very beginning, The Chosen has dared to challenge traditional interpretations and they've done so respectfully and beautifully. I'd hate to see them suddenly jump on the "women are secondary" bandwagon because that message HURTS half the world's population and it collides in a big big way with everything the show has expressed previously. And also, if we're gonna get all "edgy" with the chair thing, then why be so restrained with the guest list? For those about to say that the NT doesn't name any women at the Last Supper, I realize that. However, that doesn't mean they weren’t present. The scholarship in favor of the Last Supper including far more disciples than just the 12 is readily available and it makes total sense. In other words, there is room for differing views and Leonardo Da Vinci shouldn't be the dude we base our theology on. Sigh. Maybe the women went for take-out or something while waiting their chance to *stay with Jesus through His entire passion while the men hid/denied/betrayed Him*. 😢

I am not sure if you are trying to show the video clips or do we really need to focus always on your face? Might consider trimming your face video and making the videos your describing A LOT BIGGER... AGAIN... A LOT BIGGER than your face. just my two cents
