  • Paying for his recent crimes Dr Wily is finally apprehended and put behind bars. A time of peace and prosperity begins and Dr Light even builds a new lab assistant named Auto! But Wily always assumed this day would come and created 4 Robot Masters to simultaneously activate if communication was lost for more then 6 months. Time passes and the Robots activate assembling an army to reek havoc across the City and locate there master. Mega accompanied by roll and auto hit the streets only to find it in ruins. In the event they run into a new Robot that’s design is strikingly familiar to MegaMan named Bass and has a Canine companion as well named treble. After an exchange of words Bass Sets out to prove he is the superior of the two meanwhile The robot museum errupts and Wily breaks loose once more atop the city in flames !

    MegaMan 7 was a huge milestone for the series. Literally given 3 months to develop It was amazing seeing the blue bomber finally making the step to the 16-bit Snes. In my opinion this is the definitive art style for MagaMan. The game feels very progressive with the new in game features. Here we get an updated Rush adapter which is now a combination of both power and flight designs. And an all new Rush search that helps you locate hidden items buried within the stage. Auto has an item shop that lets u cash in bolts in exchange for power ups! The story and soundtrack takes off right away! I can listen to BurstMans theme on extended loop for days! Although moving into 16-bit does hinder that amazingly tight platforming of the 8 bit era the later half of the game gets pretty challenging specially the final Wily fight !

      That is awesome! I def believe 7 is the rarest game in the entire series. I couldn’t track it down anywhere when it launched and I think that’s why it always feels elusive to me. It’s a gorgeous game no doubt and I’m shocked they didn’t want to continue that art style into a mm8 or mm9 as well. They clearly made mm and bass so I mean I see no reason they couldn’t have made another sequel in the style of mm7

    Discovered your channel today through getting this video in my recs, and I found myself nodding along with everything you said. This game is my definitive classic MegaMan design, too - the only competition it has for me is in MegaMan 11. Love this game, love this soundtrack… it’s such an underappreciated gem that feels like a special discovery every time I go back to it. I’m looking forward to watching your previous MegaMan reviews and also seeing your next one!

      🙏 Thank you for the feedback! I have had a blast working on these and just connecting with other fans of the series has really been great. I was a bit skeptical on the design choice at first for 11 especially with the 2.5 D but honestly it’s grown on me a lot and the double gear system was a breath of fresh air. Wondering why we haven’t heard anything about a mm12 or any follow up I believe 11 was a pretty big sucess

    Mega Man Maker is awesome. I have used it to combine Mega Man amd Metroidvania styled gameplay on 8 "stages" that are each 200+ screens. Also, MM7 had awesome music and bosses. Freeze Man's taunt, Spring Man's ceiling slam, and a rival that also had a dog-suit-combo were my particular favorites.

    But after finding out it's secrets, WHOA!
    This game's it's own beast, and one of my favorites in the franchise. Made me even look at 11 in a new light. Smartly designed, but different flavors of the franchise.

    I would love to See Capcom rerelease all the classic series with an engine that Alows you to select if you want to Play nes, SNES, psone or mm11 style Game for the graphic and music with the possibility of selecting the Weapons from which Game and the type of Buster with hidden unlockable and a Megaman maker

    A polished gem... Which was made in 3 months. In a crunch session so mad other Capcom employees got seriously concerned for the team.
    I'm still not sure if game had an immovable release date or if team forced itself to meet that release date no matter what.

    • @RockinKatReviews
      @RockinKatReviews  2 месяца назад

      That is honestly a really good question and I wish I could find more interviews on it . From the interviews and info I managed to find I believe the 3 month window was more or less an average time frame. With it being a bit more than the 3 months. I found many of the team members just really got invested in the project so I feel it possibly was them just really embracing it and getting it out. I think there were ideas and concepts left on the table they wanted to flesh out like with the hidden versus mode. But I believe the core ideas more or less are there they wanted to implement

    • @arciks11
      @arciks11 2 месяца назад +1

      @@RockinKatReviews I don't believe it was normal Time Frame. X3 had like 6 months of development and that was them using a preexisting engine of X2.
      This was made completely from ground up with no asset or code reuse in half that time.

      I def agree with you on the X2 hunt I think if they didn’t randomly switch up the Zero armor locations constantly it wouldn’t feel as tedious but it def gets me too far out my comfort zone. I do like the 3 X killers but I think they get a little too much having to face them twice.. @@RockinKatReviews I haven't read it, but one of my buddies was reading it, he found it... strange, it seemed so, Mega Man X was for some reason some incest pervert, and it had a lot cross overs and self-awareness. I had to translate for a buddy one long page left untranslated, the publisher of those comics wanted more original Brazillian stuff, of less inspirations from other countries.
