I think there is intentional irony in this song. The song is called Elegy (a poem/song dedicated to someone's death), and the lyrics of Hanifl's vocals are depressing, and even goes as far to say "God has let you down". The irony is that this song without lyrics is such an uplifting song that I feel the sensation of triumph/acceptance/rest, and also the female vocals/lyrics in the middle of the song are very encouraging and positive compared to everything else, and is most likely the voice of the person this Elegy is dedicated too. It really shows how we deal with death, with the ultimate result being acceptance (which leads to rest and triumph) in one's life.

WHAT a SONG! Totally revised my opinion on "Break From This World" tonight. And Barbossa, your fade to white was PERFECT.

Not so easy to understand the meaning, but absolutely magnificent for me. I dont know, perhaps my favorite sond at the moment. So perfectly composed, it inspires me so fully, it is like crying and loughing at the same moment. Thank you

I so want to love this song! But yeah a agree with you guys! It is so rare to have a song with such a beautiful melody and I can admire the Lyrics but at the same time I don't like anything depressing. Why couldn't this song have been about Jesus!! Such a shame! Kind of reminds me of the song "Hallelujah" beautiful melody but mocks God. Still gave it a thumbs up though.

I thought this song was describing God, but then is says God has failed YOU and God has fallen. So, what does this sing mean, and who is is talking about?

The song does indeed say, 'God has let you down.' But, it is normally mis-translated by people. It can really be interpreted in many ways. Though, when my friends and I discussed the song, we found it to be that the one singing is sad that the person who died is dead, and they are saying God let them down cause they died to early in their life. That's just our opinion on the song though, it can be translated as anything you want, as the song is not about anyone is particular, or anything in particular. It's just an elegy for someone who died. Hopefully this helps!

Daniel Decker Yes, that's also what I take out of it. I also think it could mean that the person died and discovered that there was no heaven, thus god let her down as in being a false idol... I could be reading too much into it though

***** It's a way to look at it for the most part. Everyone has their own way of thinking about it. It is a good possibility though, I can say that. And you aren't looking into it to much, I don't really think it's possible to do so really, as it is how you think of the song. Good thought though, very good thought.

great song. but Globus got it wrong near the end when they say God let you down. He has never let anyone down. He knows All and we most certainly don't. with our limitations we don't stand a chance of understanding His grand plan. we just have to have Faith in Him.

Um I think they try to represent how someone reacts to a persons death. He is unaccepting that person's death by saying that. When a close relative dies you refuse to accept that right? (Sorry if you actually have a relative dead)

This song only lost me at "Bury you with no goodbyes." perhaps it meant God knew his son Jesus would rise in three days so there was no reason to miss him.
