The more I listen to this group, the more I wish I had spent time with my dad. Something I will regret for the rest of my life. The more I miss him. Two of my first albums I bought when I got into metal was The Power and the Glory, and Denim and Leather. Awesome band.
La verdad que los ingleses son los majores......que buen heavy rock..... En todos los generos del rock y sus vertiente son los numero uno...Saludos desde Argentina..... Amamos a saxon!
@@vicfame3171 There was plenty of heavy metal/hard rock albums available in Yugoslavia on LPs and cassettes in the 80s, under Yugoton, RTB , RTVLJ or Jugodisk releases... I still have many of them... from Motorhead, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Saxon, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake... It's harder to get them now than back in the 80's
@@69ifix Probably because there were communist committees regulating which record is fit for public consumption and not clashing with the communist agenda. Saxon never had any truly edgy lyrical content, occult, violent, pornographic, gory etc. Unlike say Mercyful Fate or W.A.S.P.
A friend loaned me this album on vinyl in about 1987 and to date it's still the album I see as the highwater of British metal. Fantastic album and full of great tunes.
this was my first introduction to Saxon in about 1991. Still this is my fave Saxon album (along with Solid Ball of Rock), and remembers me my golden teenage days. Missing those...
Because of that political incorrect Album Pictures (Front and Back) and title Saxon got executed in german mainstream media. They could not safe their sinking star even with their nice Cover of "Ride like the wind", and Yes: This album is totally underrated.
Where the hell do you people hear Def Leppard? Light years ahead of Leppard. My first Saxon ( bought new on cassette) Loved it then and still love it. The young metalhead in me ( I was 15 then) still drools over the girl on the cover too.
I can understand the superficial comparisons as some of the guitar work has Leppard vibes but these guys are definitely more metal as I’ve always considered Def Leppard a rock band.
@@lankestermerrin267 I get it but despite being.a massive Saxon fan for years and years and enjoying even these more poppy albums I only just noticed the other night Biff's singing is more Def Leppard with those big gang chorus type backing vocals make it a little Leppard to me. I can't stand Def Leppard btw so that's what makes this even weirder for me to say this 🤣. I even hear Def Leppard on Solid Ball of Rock and that was then firmly going away from the poppy stuff. Again just on the vocals. Kinda sickens me a little now ffs.
Na minha opinião, este álbum junto com o Destiny, são os mais fracos do Saxon.Nesta fase mais hard curto apenas o Rock the Nations.Foda é o Power and the glory, wheels of steel, Denin and Leather, strong arm of law, crusader. E do Forever free para frente, só peso.

I wish the same. Shame he didn't really want to spend time with me. Oh well.
I don't listen to Saxon a lot but when I do I'm always astonished how good they are. I always forget
Don't.

This album is a must have and "Broken Heroes" just THE song !
I have this on vinyl
So do I
On late night TV metal hour, the video for Broken Heroes would play all the time. Still one of my favorite Saxon tracks all-time.
In Poland under communism it was one of the few heavy metal vinyl records available. Everyone listened to this LP :)
same in serbia

Thanks for posting it with a resonable volume, because my PC's maximum volume is low. Go with God and Mary!!
Altough this is pure noise.
Best songs on this album in my opinion:
1. Broken Heroes

3. Rockin' Again
4. Call of the Wild
5. Rock 'n' Roll Gypsy

Innocence Is No Excuse is too pop for me, but still have good songs like Rockin' Again and Broken Heroes.
YES, it's tho poppest album Saxon ever made.

My favorite is Denim and Leather, but this one, as "Crusader", is really cool too.

The album where Saxon tried to sound like Def Leppard.
I though the same
What about their first album? Can you load it for us who want to rock for life?thanks a lot .
So ganz gut....bloß die verpisste Werbung mitten drin muss nicht sein!!!😈
Yep! A woman but the apple fist.
And WTF WITH THE FRIKKEN COMMERCIALS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF SONGS!!!!????????!!!!!???
An apple is the least sexiest fruit you could slap on an album....
@Bob Salt Green is young and innocence while red is adult and perverted. And you couldn't see young girl lips.
Bob, if it was red, you wouldn’t be able to see the Saxon logo clearly.
Perhaps a young girl chomping on a banana on an album titled "Innocence Is No Excuse" was a bit too on the nose?
Охуенно👍👍👍
Glam Metal?
I wouldn’t go that far. A bit more mainstream for the time, but not glam.
I haven't ever been this band fan, althought i had solid ball of rock on LP once, i don't know but Saxon maybe isn't in my taste.
