I would definitely try this if it was available near me. It looks very relaxing. I would not enjoy finding all that volcanic sand in personal places though, even if you're wearing something. 🤣

I’m assuming the spa reuse the same sand on clients so I’d be concerned that rinsing it in 60c water wouldn’t be enough to kill all bacteria etc. It is however a very interesting treatment, I’ve never seen anything like it before.
If it's soaked long enough it will be fine. Bacteria can no longer grow at 60 c, and the population will die out. That being said, it would be much better to get over 70 c. At those temps, bacteria starts to actively die. Obviously 100 would be the best, only needed about 30 seconds to kill all bacteria in the while systems.

Because there are strict sanitary rules when it comes to places like this. Leaving other peoples dead skin in it is a direct health code violation and can cause a business to be shut down

It’s reused, but the dead skin cells are drained into a collection tank and then later processed at a nearby chemical plant to produce Soylent Green, a delicious food substitute. 😉
@SUBVA most of the weight he lost was probably water weight from sweat. F1 drivers can lose up to 10 pounds in one race just from sweat. The same thing for combat sport athletes, the try to sweat off as much as they can since it’s the fastest way to lose weight.
