There is another way to be an ALT in Japan, first enrol in a Japanese Language school in Japan. If you are already there, try to apply in a company hiring English teacher. All you need is a 12 years of education with a certificate coming from your school that the medium of instruction is all in English, except Filipino subject, of course. Expect an 45 minutes long interview both in English and Nihonggo, but don't worry, you will be asked an easy question like your hobby or any story you like to share.
Alexandrea Belle Alvaran pwede nmang pumunta pero kung mag aaplay ka ng ALT as tourist, napakahirap yata dahil maraming proceso para mabigyan ka ng working visa pero why dont u try?
Thank you so much Ms. Karla for this vid. It helped me a lot ug naa na pud ko sa JP karon. May your ALT life become more fruitful because you have been inspiring many people.
Hello, I’m still on Grade 11 pero sure na ‘ko sa ipu-pursue ko na ‘yung Secondary Education Major in English na course. Sana maging ALT Teacher rin ako like you someday! I’m still binge-watching all of your videos hehe, it kinda makes me excited & nervous for my Future at the same time.
Thank you so much for this informative video! I'm really hoping to see you soon. Can you give me some tips on how to ace the interview? I've heard it's quite hard daw po, although the director told us not to worry about it. Hehe. Thank you so much, Ms. Candy! I'm so glad that I've come across your channel!
Hi miss candy,Im a new English teacher here in Vietnam but I want to land a job in Japan as an English teacher din. .Im not an education graduate but a degree holder and holding a TESOL certificate.Am i still qualified to apply?
Hello po. I'm interested to apply din po. Kaso native-level speaker of English po ang requirement... Does that mean, you have to be a native speaker of English language po?
Hello Maam ☺️ Need na education Major ka if mu apply ka as ALT in japan? Or any bachelors degree will do? Looking forward sa imong answer ☺️ Thank you and more power sa imo YT Channel ☺️
I am a fresh graduate and I'm also planning to teach English in Japan, but after watching this, I think it isn't easy after all lol. I'm a graduate of BS in office administration and years from now, I am planning to apply as an ESL teacher in a Japanese tutorial school here in PH. . Do you think they'd accept applicants with an experience in teaching English to Japanese students (via tutorial school) but not a graduate in English Education?
Hello, miss candy! I'm glad I found this video of yours. It's very informative and yeah you're right! I read their alt advertisement and it's really challenging! Hahahah! By the way, I have a question. :) Do you really need to have a driver's license before applying? Do they really require you to study basic Japanese beforehand and submit to them the certificate as a proof? Thank you so much, miss candy! ❤
I think it is a requirement now to have a driver's license before applying. During my time I already had a license before applying. I studied basic Japanese before applying as well but you can study while you are on the process of application.
hello po, this has been a great help. question lang po, so even if, for example, i do manage to get an ALT job asides from Interac/Amity/Jet, will it become invalid because of POEA? i recently applied to two companies that don't have philippine offices 🙂
Hello Ate! I love you video and I plan to work and live in japan too. I have a question. How do they view piercings there? Piercings as in just an extra piercing on your earlobe. Would it affect your work or professional life there, taking in to consideration that you can just remove it while you work.?
piercings are okay... just don't wear any earrings at all to work. Because in Japanese schools, students and teachers aren't allowed to wear one. Though I'm an ALT (and can be exempted from school rules at times), I opted not to wear so as to belong to the school community. But if you work in another industry, I think it's fine and you can wear it to work :D
I applied at Amity directly and I was told to submit my application to BISON since it was their partner Agency in PH. I just don't know how to submit my application to them though :(
Hi, I'd like to go in Japan and teach there, however I am afraid if i am qualified as I have scar in lungs, Am I still possible to teach there despite of scar in lungs and fit to work certificate?
Thanks! Im from ph and just about to study in college. And it is my dream to teach english in Japan. I wish you could make a video about the everyday life of an english teacher in japan. arigatou guzaimasu! kiwo tsukete!
Hi! Thanks for sharing informative videos. On #3 in the list of competencies (3.) THE POSSESSION OF A PHILIPPINE NON-PROFESSIONAL DRIVING LICENSE AND BEING A CONFIDENT AND COMPETENT DRIVER OF A CAR) -- do you have to submit this along your initial submission of your CV/resume? Also, how long did it take you from the initial resume submission to the day you were notified you got hired? How about the waiting time from that point up to the flight date, how long does it normally take? Lastly, would you consider uploading a model video of your demo? :D Thanks a lot! :)
it's okay if you don't have the driver's license now. The process will be very long anyways. Like 5-6 months, so you have time to get one at least three months before departing to Japan. Just be sure that after the orientation, if you think u're pursuing the application process then you should plan on getting one asap :)
Hi Ms Candy! One of Cheshams requirement is a driver's license, what if po kung wala? Is it necessary to have one po ba? Thank u in advance po sa reply.
Hi! The video was good! In my case I already have a visa in japan. How and where can I send my resume? I am interested in applying for an ALT. What are those certificates they needed for english proficiency? Help! Help! ❤️
I am a graduating student of bs in secondary eduction major in english, just wondering if you know where you can get tesol or celta certification? Thank you

hey candy! do you recommend me to sign up and try at chesham? Im half filipino half british, but I only have 2 years of college under my belt but English definitely is my native language but my passport is Filipino, hoping to get some advice from you for my situation!

Hello what are the possible documents Chesham will be asking from me. I actually applied for the position and currently I am in the process of getting my non-pro drivers license.

Hello, yes. Chesham is the only agency in the PH that recruits ALTs for Interac. Borderlink is another dispatch company here in Japan. Although I do not have enough knowledge about borderlink, you can try applying from them directly? or I don't know if may agency sila sa pinas?
