Put em in my ve ss yesterday can't believe the difference in the sound. Its a big difference but a pleasant noise. Makes the car feel more tougher. Great vid 👌👍
Nice work on the spanner boys next time you use it with be when we take out the engine for a rebuild. Once the car is painted we have to call it the shadow.
Gday Dallas, what did you think of us cutting up a perfectly good 18mm spanner! Classic Fred and Frankie there! Yep, will need your assistance and guidance on the cam. That will be a big job! I like the idea of giving it a new name. Shadow could be an option!
Gday Andrew and Tim, costs for a cam can certainly add up. We are budgeting around $3-4k for hardware to do ours as we dont have to do DoD delete . Dyno tune will be on top of that. Lots of shops out there quote $6k+ drive in drive out with DoD delete.
You have to get a ppp piece from here n a ppp piece from there. Which will keep the Mrs happy, shake her down for 7K in one go and your askin for trouble.
Well I fitted the mounts and instead of using a chopped spanner I used all my 1/2" extensions and a universal to undo top nuts before I jacked it up 👌 doing the gearbox mount next then cam gets done Dec 14th 😊
One of my mounts has gone on my Calais. It’s not a performance car by any mark. You think I should change both while I have it in the air or just change the problematic one?
i need to remove an engine mount to get my starter out. I was thinking jack car up onto axle stands on one side, then place jack directly under sump as shown in this video. Will it be an issue if engine is slightly raised at an angle to get one mount out? Will the mount on the other side get stressed from the flexing?
Gday Big Al, just pinged Frankie to find out for you. He got it on ebay from Engine Parts Australia apparently. We still need to set up top breather hose to get it working properly. My Mishimoto can on the VF LS7 is working a treat if that helps?
G'day AusModified, no need to take off OTR as you are only lifting the engine slightly to take pressure off the mounts. We left ours on. Let us know how you go!
@@ClunieGarage took me about 4 hours to do mine, i struggled getting drivers side mount out but i eventually got it! Feels alot better and there is no play in the driveline now
Two dislikes there Fred, a couple of people must not like your haircut I reckon. Do you think me Mum would like a set of those engine mounts in her Caprice?
Gday Angry, always interesting when we get dislikes on our videos but no corresponding comments as to why the dislikes are there 😕 Anyways, I probably wouldnt recommend those engine mounts for mums car. However, it all depends if you have sneakily fitted a blown LSA under the bonnet and you are starting to break mounts with the extra torque flex!
Good work franky

Love your work mate. Hope the video helped you out. Ours really shakes now and we love them!
Get the tuff mounts for the gear box mounts too
Looks like Frankie skinned his knuckles there. Looked easy enough, nice work.
Gday Angry, yep he bled like a stuck pig all over my garage floor. He even decided to use an old rag with masking tape as a band aid!
Am hoping so! You blokes made it look super easy. Even bought myself a short handle spanner from Sydney Tools today!
I'm getting some for my daily thanks guys
Nice one Daniel. Did you go with tuff mounts? Relatively easy job. Just make sure you have a short handled 18mm spanner!
@@ClunieGarage might cut one with grinder hehe ,ordered some tuff mounts last night .vf is looking great ,

Love the Snot, I have a wags snot with mca purples OTR full exhaust and tune, want a cam but Mrs snot isn't 7k keen 🙄
Its not 7k to cam a car. 4500 max if you need a DOD delete. Less if you dont.
@@buckd1ch with stall double row shaved heads hiflow pump lifters etc etc and then add 1k for dyno tune 7k is about right

G'day, probably a good idea to change both at the same time. If you change one with a solid mount the engine will rock excessively to one side.
Nice work guys. Have got solid engine mounts on my go kart too! Lol. Never considered on a daily. Can only imagine the vibrations.
Gday Gary, yep she shakes, rattles and rolls now!!
Just ordered some tuff mounts for me Mrs' daily VE. Will let you lnow if she like them or not!

Great videos it’s looking good
Thanks mate! Snot box has come a long way!!
Love ya work Frankie
Gday Zach, Franky was in fine form today. He turned up in banana in pjs overalls and it went down hill from there!!
Love your work Guy’s
G'day mate, glad you like it!! We love the tuff mounts and hope the video showcases them well!
Frankie do you still have the orange coupe
Frankie ended up selling the orange coupe but he picked up a very nice black cammed VE. So much to catch up on mate!!
What brand is the catch can you guys fitted please? What’s your thoughts on it to?

How can you pick a broken engine mount please?
Excessive vibrations is normally a tell tale sign.
Awesome video mate! Got my set ready to install today, did you need to to take the OTR out before lifting the engine up?

Great video guys. Tuff mounts are a great product and you will be happy with them.
Thanks Brian, yes we are really stoked with these mounts. A bit of shake, rattle n roll!
What catch can is that Frankie?
Gday mate, it is from eBay from Engine Parts Australia. Brand is a China special. Nothing but the best for the snotter!
Wish my Ute sounded like that haha, too bad it’s a v6
Haha! You might need to buy some headers and fit an exhaust mate! Thanks for watching!
Looks good. What about the transmission mount though?
Gday Scotty, yep transmission mount coming next. Then she will really rock n roll!
