What? I'm not following. Do you have a factory bumper or one of ours? The mounts of bumpers and bull bars are designed to absorb the impact so the chassis does not have too.
This is an awesome build video but you've skipped over some details... How were the tracks mounted on the roof? Did you correct any diff-gears to ensure the speedo was accurate given the wheel size was increased? Did it have to go over the pits to certify the vehicle lift (not sure what it's like in VIC; WA is restrictive)? Cheers
@@offroadanimal thanks for confirming. I was looking at the Front Runner system which is bolted. There's a few horror stories circulating on YT and 4wd forums with riveted roof racks. The rivets are fine, it's just the steel they're going through isn't thick enough for that application

Yes our Toro bars are identical to the predator bars from below the top, it's basically a predator bar with hoops added. Only 7" round lights max on this bar due to the small grill

The vehicle has a reverse camera. Also every single truck (like semi trucks) you see on the road has the rear blocked. It's normal. And not a problem unless you don't know how to drive
Most of the time no. Sometimes there’s a bracket on the rear that has to be cut out but that often depends on your individual build. You are however going to need at least a 2in lift. I have a 22gr sport with a fox 2in suspension lift and the aforementioned 285/70r17 with 17x9 rims. My set up has had no problems whatsoever.
@@darcyshaw6308 No, just removed the mud flap and pushed the wheels forward with castor adjustment during wheel alignment. Trimmed the wheel well liner too
Can you post the dobinsons suspension part link? I want an adjustable lift like this, but when I rang dobbinsons they just gave me a standard quote, no adjustability and no remote reservoir. Did this suspension also come with a GVM upgrade?

I might be from the bush and my opinion way be a bit screwed but this just seems very city, (all the gear and no idea) I’m used to 5 post bull bars, side rails and snorkel with a lift and that’s about how far I’d go with a new hilux, their already so capable without most modifications

Yeah we didn't touch the motor. Still went well, but yes a tune would be nice. I've heard of people getting like 10-15% gains with a proper tune

The tracks are just strapped on. No diff gears, we find the hilux fine with the 285s. Speedo now only out by 3% so we just live with it
