Thanks for sharing this, I moved away when I was a kid in the late 90s. It's amazing to see how much has changed and how much has stayed exactly the same!

The best time of my life was being in mountain home and I didn’t even know it. I can’t wait to go back and visit 2006-2010

I miss this place. I ended up having to move back down to impoverished Louisiana when I was a teen.

I’m curious on the outlook of this town in say 5 -10 years. With Boise expected to continue its growth, it really can only begin to grow eastward towards Mountain Home. So I ask myself do I buy my home in MH and make the drive into Boise for work and possibly lease office space for my Fiancés Nail Business or do I take a shot at opening her business in MH and hopefully she grows as I’m sure MH is sure to do in the next 5 years? I have to move and by this coming fall. I hate being an adult sometimes lol

Might as well buy in Boise, bus has long left the station on inexpensive homes in MH. Looking at more expensive home costs than if you were in Nampa, Meridian, or Boise.
Also, the drive to Boise from Mountain Home is easily 40-60 minutes depending on where you live in town and where you are going in Boise.... and thats in the summer. In the winter, easily a 1.5 hour trip each way. And there is literally 3 exits on that 40 mile stretch of road in between. No towns, no gas, no nothing and very very windy. If you are looking to spend $350k+ on a 3 bedroom 1,500 sq ft home with a single car garage...MH is the place for you. But you can do better in Boise.
Full disclosure, I like MH, I own a home there. Just kind of hard to justify buying a home there right now just to commute to Boise daily.
