  • This lecture describes the behaviour of CD Nozzle when Back pressure is varied.
    Nozzle behaves ideal i.e., increase velocity/reduce pressure only if the designed back pressure prevails downstream of the Nozzle, otherwise it will act as a diffuser or Shock occurs inside the Nozzle.

    Query: in super sonic flow divergent section is act as nozzle so in this pressure is increasing and velocity must reducing thn why you said V increase and P decrease

      When Supersonic Flow passes through Divergent section, Velocity increases at the expense of Pressure, Please refer Area, Velocity & Pressure relation equation.

    Hi everyone, I am sorry, I still don't get the point what really happens if incompressible fluid flow through the CD nozzle? why the density change can affect the acceleration of the compressible fluid
