    UPDATE as of 12/15/23: If you are experiencing connection issues: It is a known issue but also random. I would make sure your earbuds are updated AND I would DEFINATELY send a message to Bose just in case. The update fixed some issues but not all. If you have more issues, you will have a record. Bose will be more likely to send a replacement if you notify them everytime you have these issues.
    Update is here and you can check inside the Bose Music app if the update installed and which software version you have.
    QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds software versions
    Released 16 Nov 2023 (China: 20 Nov 2023)
    Earbuds version: 1.7.6
    Bluetooth connection and stability improvements
    Fixed some instances of the earbuds not playing the welcome tone when put into the ear
    Fixed an issue where the earbuds may stay connected to a source device after being put into the case
    Improvements to ‘auto-reconnect’ when earbuds are quickly taken out of the case
    Additional bug fixes and general stability improvements

    Bose QC ultra if you're in a loud environment suck. I drive a semi truck and everyone I talk to on them complain of background noise sounding like either a jet engine or metal scraping on the ground. Found changing the modes from quiet to immersive lowers that sound a bit. And going to ambient mode even more. But you can't hear anything on ambient. They sound amazing but if you make a lot of calls and are constantly in loud environments be ready for people to complain.

    I happened upon your channel & really enjoyed your review, like your style so I'm now happily subscribed. I'm looking for a new set of buds to join my current rotation and for me it was down to the Bose, Jabra Elite 10 & the new Sony's....... I've spent some time researching and I'm leaning towards the Jabra Elite 10's, they seem to me at least anyways to do more things right than the others in terms of comfort/fit, sound, looks, feature rich & durability. I would appreciate your thoughts on this & sincere thanks for a excellent video & review of the Bose....... have a great day!

      I was honestly quite disappointed by the sound. The Sony XM5 sound a lot better. These are way to hard on the base. Also, yes we want multipoint and the Bluetooth connectivity issues have been a nightmare. I was ready to pull the trigger on the Sony's in spite of the insane case size but Bose upgraded me for free to the ultras when my earbuds two broke in warranty so I guess I'm stuck with Bose for a while longer. Thus far no earbuds on the market come without weaknesses. Bose has a long way to go.

    I too am a strong supporter of Bose But since I switched to the earbuds vs the around the neck ear plugs, I’ve been disappointed.
    I’ve had to get a replacement for the earbuds 2 and now looks like I’ll be getting a replacement for the ultra’s because of the volume issues on the right ear for both devices.
    Starting to rethink the earbuds and may go back to the around the neck ones.

    • @mcamca1947
      @mcamca1947 7 месяцев назад

      @@TheFrenchGlow It’s the same update that I had for the previous pair 1.7.6. So I’m thinking that the first pair had a louder noise floor. The replacement pair are definitely quieter. Which then explains why so many industry reviews never mentioned white noise as being an issue (but not all). Maybe a quality control needs to be stepped up. I still think Bose would benefit from a further update to give the user the option to turn off NC completely.

    How can you see the percentage of battery for the case ?

  • @florian-schmidt
    @florian-schmidt 9 месяцев назад +3

    I am surprised nobody in any review of the Bose QC Ultra or QC-2 ever mentions the stupid decision of Bose to only include a single LED to display the charging level of the case. In older models like the Bose Free Sports they had 4 LEDs to show charging levels of 0 - 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% which is very useful. The new models have only one LED that shows some patterns of white or amber, so first of all you need to learn and memorize which light pattern and light color corresponds to what charging level. This alone is already ridiculous. But then you realize there are patterns only for "below 10%", "10-30%", "30%-99%" and "100%". Really, Bose? So a charging case that is 31% charged shows the same pattern as one that is 98% charged? WTF? Are LEDs really that expensive that you couldn't afford 4 of them? And did you really think people would not be interested to know the difference between "near empty" and "almost fully charged"?

    • @TheFrenchGlow
      @TheFrenchGlow  9 месяцев назад

      You are right! Bose still hasn't added wireless charging to their cases even though the cases are huge compared to the Sony 1000xm5 and airpod pros. I would not hold my breathe until the bose ultra 2 to fix these issues.

    Terrific video, production and presentation. You are so right about connectivity between the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds ll. It was pure torture connecting the Earbuds ll.
    After complaining, Bose customer care replaced them with the Ultras. Connectiving is now 100%. The Ultras are great earbuds.
    Another added accessory is the XL and XS band kit. The left large earbuds was always falling out. After speaking with Bose customer care, the sent me--for free--the kit. I believe it's nearly $14.95. Now they are secure, even with running.

    But sound wise they are amazing and superb ANC also.
    Just wish they were abit more polished against apple also and that they could show up as my ap2s so i can see the battery status on buds and case.

    I’ve been using Bose products for over 15 years, started with the radio. I purchased a set of the NC QC II buds in early December. Kept having connection problems,
    1. establishing BT w/iphone, and
    2. maintaining the connection when on rural bike rides when the devices pick up interference from passing cars, knocking the signal out.
    Bose replace them with the new Ultras. Nothing has improved.
    Reestablishing the connection without the case has half the time proved impossible. So carry the case, yes, but that’s a nuisance, and neither problem exists with the $170 Sony buds that I own. Sound is not as good, but compared to no sound, the Sony’s are infinitely better.
    Sony’s little buds are also much better in the simple task of removing from the case to use them. A gentle 0.2s tug and in my ears they go.
    To remove the Bose buds from the case is a job that practically requires a pair needle nose pliers. I don’t know if it’s just a tight fit, magnets(?) too strong, or if my case is flawed in some way, but the struggle often takes more than 30s, fingers slip off the buds, and pinching hard results in squirting them into my lap … or worse.
    So, the signal is often bad, I regularly experience complete signal loss with full charge, and I have a heck of a time unseating them to use for their intended purpose.
    User friendly? Not in my case.

    I love my bose QCII's, WHEN THEY WORK, but 50% of the time i am fighting with connectivity issues and constantly sticking the buds back into the charging case to re-sync with the phone. if they are sitting on my desk and a call is answered from the phone itself, the earbuds grab the call! Sometimes even in the case they grab the call. And the worst part is that if you happen to need to adjust them, press them inwards to fix the fit or lightly touch them during a call, you pretty much hang up on the caller as you manipulate the buds. The Bose people in Manila are neither understandable nor knowledgeable. They are high level courteous and determined, but ineffective because of the language.
    Going to the CHAT for support, the heavy accents disappear, but the knowledge level is the same … not good.
    The Bose people in Massachusetts, the Foundation. I phoned them and they sent me to the second support level to fix my problem with the Ultras, and accent was British, so good. But the lady who actually solved my problem … solved by an exchange, not a reset or firmware fix … just couldn’t wait to get off the phone. Problem fixed, good, politeness and showing concern or interest for my satisfaction as a customer, bad. Certainly she was one of those one-offs.
