    It’s very strange because people ARE getting the wingard. Oddly enough everyone I’ve seen who has gotten barely play the game or only log in for dailies. Feels like there’s a system in place where the more hours you have in the game the less likely you are to get a rare drop, just pretty suspicious.

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      Indeed, there's no question that they were dropping. I can't really say for certain about what you experienced in regards to newer players getting it. As, a lot of people that I'm aware of that got Wingard drops, are people who play pretty regularly, if not every day.
      That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of default boosted rate on returning players as a mechanism to try to lure the individual back into spending more time on the game. Which would technically make sense from a business standpoint, however that's just all speculation and not really any hard data or evidence to even remotely back it up. Definitely worth a thought though.

    Great Video my dude and i fully agree. I simply cannot understand how Sega is not implementing a pity system. The concept of this exist in all kind of games. For example Final Fantasy 14, the Kamuy mounts have a 1% Droprate, but you gain 1 token each run. After 99 tokens, you can redeem those for the mount. Each DFD run takes 15 min. 50 Runs with no weapons means more than 12 hours play time for barely any loot.
    Also, The lack of transparency with PSO2NGS is simply frustrating. Why does Sega not state the droprate? Do they fear the backlash? If they do fear the backlash than the droprate is simply not fair. Since there is barely anything else to get from DFD, this feels incredibly time wasting. And since there is barely any new content, this feels like Sega wants to stretch out the little content as much as they can.

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed!
      Indeed, it's very surprising that some sort of pity system like what you mentioned hasn't been implemented yet. I will note though, that perhaps this is on their mind because they've kind of implemented a "pity" system for Seasonal Tickets before, as if you recall they introduced Vouchers, which does guarantee you get a ticket after 10 runs. On top of the chance of getting a ticket regardless in the LTQs. So perhaps there is already some sort of motion being moved over at SEGA in addressing this for highly rare items in these high difficulty fights that take up a lot of time for one run.
      While I'm all for having obtained a ridiculous amount of Add Preset Skill Level 1 Items, it definitely doesn't equate for like I said, not even one of us seeing a Wingard. As mentioned in the video, it wouldn't even be a big deal that I didn't get one. It's the fact that not even one of us got a single one, that's actually baffling. And in regards to the Drop Rate, very valid questions.

  • @Moe_Infinity
    @Moe_Infinity Месяц назад +1

    When they introduce a new weapon with a new rarity, it's usually best not to take it seriously. They did this back then too, like the Flugels. The drop rates for new rarity weapons are always atrocious as hell. Unless you have insane luck, don't expect it to drop.
    You're better off waiting for farmable weapons than expecting luck and miracles (or if you're really min maxing, just farm meseta and buy it)

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  Месяц назад

      Indeed! And make no mistake, while it was frustrating, I was well aware of the possibility that it could happen. I'd done 24hr streams before in the past for weapon drops. Namely, the Tisah, which had the worst drop rate we've seen (as the dev's admitted the drop rate for Tisah was actually unintendedly broken at release). Of course, never seeing one lol. So I'm definitely familiar & aware as to what to expect.
      In regards to Dalion in specific, it was just shocking that we didn't see even one drop in that amount of runs. Especially considering the amount of RDR. It had nothing to do with me, myself, not getting one. What baffled me was that none of us saw a single one.
      Nonetheless, I enjoy the grind. It's just naturally in my nature. So it's not overly bothersome to me. I'll never go over a limit that I know isn't reasonable, or put my health in jeopardy. Etc, etc. But it was definitely a mind boggling happening, that we didn't see even one! lol.

    I got 2 drops in leciel the same day with few flugs as well... my rd was only 160% and spent over 12 to 14 hours straight... through my play through I noticed that my drops got way better the better I played, I started clearing rooms by my self and to get hit less as possible by enemies, somehow when I dedicated to do those steps my drops started getting better like xovers and versh with fixas 4 and 5 and when I got my wingards came out with fixas as well... so I do think it really is on how good you play in Le

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад +1

      First and foremost congrats on your drops! Sounds like a super good day so I'm definitely happy for you!
      In regards, to it having to do with how good you play in LC, I highly doubt this is the case (aside from the obvious clear rewards increase from killing the final boss), as I love LC & have always run it like crazy. That being said, I've also gotten a lot of great drops & high fixa drops from Leciel. But I think I would account that more to simply how many times I've ran Leciel.
      At the end of the day though, I don't know for certain and you don't know for certain. I'm not even sure if SEGA knows for certain 🤣. So we should nonetheless just try our best in Leciel just in case that is the hidden string! Plus it helps everybody anyway because Leciel is always much more enjoyable when everyone's trying their best!

    Similar results here, and I feel the same way you do. Only got 2 reyaars in my 60+ runs. No flugels, so to hear Flugel drops in Dalion is actually kinda surprising, as crazy as it sounds, yeah.. I haven't seen a *single* flugel drop... At all. Most of my loot consisted of Tisah/Meleks, with a fucking Ajax occasionally here and there and I'm like "Why does this of all things drop here?". The add preset skill isn't a guarantee drop either, had a run where a friend didn't get one to drop, it's just a high drop rate.
    I don't know how to not sound ranty but I'll do my best to keep it brief since I've already talked about this with my alliance and friends ad nauseum. If it dropped stuff like Gladia Soul, Lux Halphi, Glan Gigas, ya know... literally anything else, components for them even, it would've made farming him sting less. I've burned by pso2 one too many times that quite literally in both games base and NGS, the loot I get has been equating to nothing where it has me like "What the hell is even the point, I'm just wasting my time". The loot needs to justify the difficulty, and it currently doesn't

      I 100% hear your frustrations and I just want to let you know that they are 100% valid. You weren't ranting there, and what you said was constructive & was of your experience & how things could be be better. I do agree that having even just some of those high value augs or their mats in such a fight would help make all the difference. I believe they (The NGS Team) responded to someone in a headline or in an interview before about a question addressing these types of quests having relevant drops (i.e., why is an ajax dropping, etc etc). So they definitely know it exists & surely is on their radar to clean up in the future.
      I 100% hear you though & your feelings are valid. You put the time in with 60+ runs the same way I did & had a similar experience. You're not speaking from a point of someone who didn't legitimately put the time in, so I 100% hear you.

  • @lordeclipse9069

    I know the feeling dude haha I don’t expect to get it myself since I know my luck (worst gaming experience I ever had was when I grinded *10,000 runs* for something on another game and never got the item (this was literally over about 2 to 3 years and no I wasn’t in the best place mentally haha better now though)), so I don’t expect to get anything personally, but it does feel bad when your friends get pulled into the lack of luck.
    I think I did roughly 20 runs of Dalion all with 1 group of friends, and those friends did 40 ~ 70 total. Fortunately, 2 of them dropped (one of them even dropped twice) while me and one friend dropped none; but that’s frustratingly the name of the game haha we know what we’re getting into.
    As the joke goes though, the true Wingard drop is the friends we made along the way! I hope your grinds are more fruitful next week haha always good to see another video dude

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      Oof! The pain! 10,000 runs 🤣. I'm glad that you're in a better mental state now btw!
      You definitely understand though. At the end of the day, we're fully well aware of what the drop rates are like & what to expect. So at the end of the day, we know what we're getting ourselves into. Sometimes things don't work out and it's definitely frustrating. Though of course, I would expect something more along the lines of your friends. Where they ran around the same range as I did and at least saw one. Some seeing two. So for none of us to even see a single one, after running over 200 collectively together, is genuinely baffling.
      Always good times though for sure, indeed! While sometimes you may not get what you want, it can be fun grinding it and putting in the effort with like minded individuals who are down for the struggle lol. Was even able to help some people out with their clears too, so that's always nice! But there definitely needs to be some sort of pity system or something of the sort to prevent these types of things from even being possible, considering these fights take 10-15 minutes to complete & a lot of focus.
      And thank you for enjoying my videos & supporting!

    • @lordeclipse9069
      @lordeclipse9069 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Spikesxu I obviously had more than enough time to learn how to optimise the runs perfectly haha so each one eventually became 1 min 30 but still besides the point!
      Yea still 200 runs collectively is very painful but not unheard of. It just feels like an extra slap in the face when there’s all the mention of rdr boosts and things like that + as said, seeing your friends also having the same misfortune feels horrible.
      As for making a pity system; I can agree on that… it’s always a painful thought, one which I came to with my previous game too, that a 10% chance doesn’t mean you’ll get it after 10 runs, it just means each time there’s a 1 in 10 chance of it which, as you know can be failed over and over. Maybe having that realisation is what keeps my expectations low enough to be unphased, but having a pity system would indeed make the whole thing feel more reassuring knowing you’ll get it eventually (I guess technically growthment and dread scales were supposed to be pity systems too though right? Surprising they didn’t really keep that going for this)
      I also kinda wish they’d make use of title rewards a bit more too, like making a weapon camo be available at 50 ~ 100 runs or something. Obviously make it able to be dropped from the quest itself but having that there would be a nice bonus haha _you can tell I’m also an old school grinder too hahaha_

      I've learned my lesson. In past events+pso2days+all the highest boosters, I had a collective ~500 to 600% rdr and got fuck all for the hours I invested farming for those chance drops.
      As a result, I'm never going out of my way to farm hours of my life and spend AC or SG on RDR boosters. Only thing I'll run from now on are the usual food/region/alliance buff and maybe those weekly free 100% rdr boosters given out whenever I remember to use them.

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      @@zero-jm7ok Yea i remember I did a few like 24 hour streams back when Mt. Magnus had new weapons. So I think, Tisah? The notoriously horrendous drop rate. Lmao. Of course, I didn't see a drop. I definitely learned my lesson though which is why I've never done a 24hr stream revolving around a rare weapon drop since lol.
      The fact that we have the weekly RDR boosters that last for an hour really helps though. In the past as you can recall, we only really had the option for the 24hr booster as a good go-to & bang for buck. So it was easy to get sucked into an unhealthy grind session.
      That being said, it's in my natural nature to grind. So sometimes it just happens. But I know what I'm getting myself into & have no issue stepping away from it if I get tired or whatnot. Like you, I 100% don't really "expect" to get drops. I just kind of hope for the best & expect the worse. But this one was honestly impressive. Not because I didn't get one (which was fully expected), but because not a single one of us got one. That's what was surprising to me.

    People might think the drop rate is disrespectful of peoples time but it's not any different in other MMO's, it's generally worst on other games
    NGS is actually better then some other games, so it's pretty fair already
    Sorry you've been left feeling this way though, I have almost 20k hours on PSO2/NGS Global and farm a lot and have only got lucky on good drops 2-3 times in the games lifetime
    So at the same time, I understand
    At least it's not OSRS where you hunt for 1/5000 item for 2-3months just to progress to end game and still never get it with over 40k+ kills

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад +1

      100%. PSO2 NGS is actually very generous, compared to other MMOs. And it looks like child's play in comparison to older MMORPG's, which is what I heavily originate from. I enjoy playing the game, and thus, I enjoy grinding & farming in the game. For instance, I have top augments & none of them were purchased off of the personal shop, except for of course the Exdi Augments. All were from mats I had from just playing the game. So naturally I do enjoy putting time into the game and prefer that method.
      I know what I get myself into with the drop rates on this game & of course knew what could happen with DFD. The thing that got me wasn't that I didn't get one. I'm not the type where, "it's all about me, me, me". The thing that got me is that none of us got one. Which is honestly pretty baffling considering the amount of runs we cleared, with the amount of boosts we had. For not one of us to see a single one, was actually pretty crazy. Especially considering that their drop rate honestly isn't really that bad.

      Well the thing about that is that NGS is a Vertical game, like most MMORPGs are nowadays (You can thank the success of WoW for messing that up). So your stuff is always going to become outdated eventually. They have started to implement Horizontal elements into NGS however, which is great. But Horizontal games have more or less been sliced under a rock ever since WoW became popular back in the early 2000s.

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      I wouldn't go that far. They have made these weapons easily obtainable. Reyaar and Xovers are super easy to obtain, so there's really no excuse to not have one of those. As well as them implementing LC augments & easy to obtain options. Overall, the NGS Team has done a great job at creating opportunities for the player base to engage. However, it's often one of those scenarios that if you give people free/easy things, they just want more free easy thing & end up not using what was provided to them. Then that cycle continues. NGS definitely has an issue with that in its player base, but I do believe it's gotten better.
      At the end of the day, most everything in NGS is actually really easily obtainable and no AC is required to do so. However, there just needs to be some sort of mechanic for things like Wingard in specific High Difficulty Quests where it takes 15 minutes to clear it & requires you be geared properly & have a team to run with. These types of quests highlight the item, and take the most amount of skill & time to complete. So a pity system of some sort needs to be put in place in those types of quests in specific. Whereas that pity system could be left out in other areas where it drops such as Leciel, etc etc. To reward those who put the time in & gear up to run these high difficulty quests in succession.
      Let me reemphasize though. I am not asking for handouts. Everything in the game is fairly easy to obtain, and the team has done a great job over the last year in creating more opportunities and balancing, to allow more players to participate in the higher level content. However, there are certain aspects that need some addressing.
      Also, in direct regards to Slayer (I slayer mained for a little over half a year I believe it was), Slayer did not benefit from Verschmelz, is all that was. Verschmelz was a step backwards for Slayer, and Neos Astrean outperformed it by a landslide for Slayer specifically. Whereas Verschmelz were great weapons for every other class & readily & easily obtainable. If anything, Slayers got the benefit because they were able to invest in & obtain high fixas on those Neos Astreans for much longer, and they still performed (for slayer) better than Verschmelz would on other classes.
      Wingard's aren't a "necessity". As Reyaars, Xovers, and Flugelgards are still great options. Wingard's (new tier weapons in general) should not be handed out when first made available. But when first released in these High Difficulty fights, where they have a higher "drop rate", so they're the preferred method of obtaining, there needs to be some sort of pity system. Even if it's 50 clears. Even if it's 100. There needs to be some sort of pity system for those in specific. To prevent being able to clear it as many times as I have & not seeing one. This also creates a goal for people who have geared up or want to gear up & want to run it. Knowing that if they run DFD 50 times, they're guaranteed one Wingard drop. etc etc.

      @@Spikesxu well, that's exact the point, Reyaar and Xover are exchange weapons, and in my opinion that's how the BiS should be. I don't care if they required 100 times the materials, I could work my way to obtain them, make progress with hard work and even build the preset. Wingard IS a requirement if you want to min-max for Arks Records or even TAing things, and will probably make a decent difference down the road with the new purple triggers. This system does benefit those who can just buy their way to the top, they will pull out a dps that is unachievable with the weapon I'm using. Also, even though you can clear anything with a 10* right now, there are situations like last years DF if you wanted to solo, and yes, I like to challenge myself in soloing difficult quests. Last year's DF required a fixa abandac 5 Flugel (at that time) to clear solo, so I could not do it while it was still relevant, I could only solo it when they added reyaar. and that's what I say, this year will be no different and I don't like it

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      @@karinhimesama Last year's DF was last year. I'm not the type to dwell too much in the past. I do hear you though about great options being craftable or exchangeable. However, we do have this. This is also the fixa enhancement system now. Wingard's are strong, but so are high level fixa'd 10 stars. In regards to Arks Records and constantly being #1 or what not on Arks Records, this is an extremely small population of the player base that actually cares about that. That also being said, Arks Records are notorious for people manipulating or exploiting classes, weapons, sub classes, or methods. They're also an RNG-fest if you're just gambling for crits. ARKS Records often aren't truly representative of the greatest players on the their respective servers. So don't get too caught up in that.
      While ARKs Records are great and all, the battle ones generally only come one or two weeks out of the month. As well as many times, being ARKs Records focusing specifically on a specific class. Also depending on the boss, certain classes will have advantages. As every class has their strengths and weaknesses, as they should. So you can't really revolve around that too much. As, a lot of the time most people aren't going to have a Wingard or the newest weapon for that specific class in the first place.
      I do hear you in that great weapons should be exchangeable/craftable. And the thing is that, they are already. That's what the Reyaar & Xover & Fixa Enhancement systems are for. Keep in mind, I come from an era of Horizontal MMORPGs. In FFXI, the greatest weapons were called "Relic Weapons". It took you a MINIMUM of a year & a half to obtain a relic weapon. And I'm not even exaggerating that number. A year and a half. And this was if you were getting lucky and having perfect runs throughout that entire year & half. So I 100% understand exchangeable & craftable weapons.
      I hear what you're saying, but what I'm saying is that ultimately everything in this game is achievable and obtainable if you actually want it. Even for a F2P. (I'm F2P, though I do have premium due to being an NGS Official Creator). Ultimately everyone shouldn't just simply have a Wingard. Especially when Reyaars, Xover's & Flugelgards are still great weapons.
      However, if you really want a Wingard, there are always paths to get it. Whether that's time spent, or if you want to whale (You can play the full game in its entirety without spending a dime, so they have to make money somehow. So I'm not too bothered by this ultimately). What I'm addressing here is the time spent portion in if you "really want it". I've done & do the time spent portions on the Reyaars on the Xover's. I have multiple Fixa 4-5 Reyaars & Xover's. Multiple. And I'm happy about them. However, I do believe there should be a mechanic specifically on High Difficultly Quests. Where you're required to have put the time into building your gear & learning strategies to efficiently run & clear them, where there is some sort of pity counter after a certain amount of clears. Even if this is a high number of clears like 50 or 100.

      @@Spikesxu I'm not sure in global, but in japan no one is using exploits in Arks Records, at best they some tricks that can be still considered legit. it used to be fun but my point is that now everything is pay-to-win, and those guys will always have an edge. I understand you're comfortable with a slightly weaker weapon, and it's fine, but I used to have fun being a min-maxer, TAing things, and the thing about last year's DF is the example, I bet the new battledia with starless gigantix will be very strict, and possibly soloable only with a good wingard weapon. also, even for a party, having the highest end weapon always helps obviously, but as I said this level of power will be reserved for those who pay for it, even if you make a lot of effort yo won't get it, and I find it too unfair

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      @@karinhimesama I'd like to first state that saying "everything in this game is p2w", is a huge stretch that is simply not accurate. I'm living proof of that, because I'm not P2W and am consistently one of the top players.
      With that being said, I don't find it as too big of an issue if as a F2P, a player can obtain 99% strength. But they then struggle to get the 1% that takes them to 100% top strength. I don't mind this because the game is F2P. The game could easily be locked behind a $15 month subscription fee to even access the game at all, like many MMORPGs have historically been. So I for one, take that as a blessing and am thankful for that. As, it allows many people to enjoy the game that is PSO2 NGS.
      Can people who P2W obtain purchasable items quicker than others? Sure. But that's ok, give them that option. Because at the end of the day, the game incurs fees. Server costs, employee costs, online shop costs. etc etc. And people have families to feed. So all things considering, with how massive & great of a game PSO2 NGS is, I'm personally perfectly fine with being able to readily obtain 99% total strength, but maybe have to go above & beyond to get that final 1%.
      The fact of the matter, is that, that 1% is often negligible in my case, because that 1% can often be offset by pure skill & mastery of ones class, boss patterns, mechanic understanding & positioning.
      At the end of the day however, I believe that if getting that extra 1% "easily" means so much to you, you should simply support the game by investing in it. All things are not created equal, and everyone shouldn't just be handed things. High Fixa 10 Stars are more than enough to do whatever right now ultimately. And Wingards are steadily dropping in price. Realistically if I actually wanted one, I could just buy it off of the personal shop. It's just that I personally like to farm everything myself because I like to play the game.
      It's not that it's not obtainable. With Dext Base as well, anyone could realistically "get" a Wingard if they wanted to. Dext Base farm can procure multiple millions of meseta per hour. If one was determined enough to want & purchase that Wingard but didn't want to grind fights, the methods are 100% there to do so.
      The game is no way shape or form P2W. Once again, I'll state that I'm living proof of that. However, I don't see a huge issue with letting people who want to toss money at the game toss it. Not only because it helps keep the game accessible & entirely F2P for everyone, but because in the current state of the game, it doesn't create any type of real imbalance unless the literal only thing a person is playing in the game is Solo Content like ARKS Records. Which virtually defeats the purpose of an MMO, as an MMO should focus the majority of its gameplay around doing things with other people.

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад +1

      The thing is, the drop rate isn't terrible. The drop rate is fine in my honest opinion. But there needs to be mechanics in place that benefit when certain amounts of a quest are run & cleared without seeing the drop. The weapons are dropping and there are people who have seen 2 or even 3 drops. Make no mistake, the weapon drops & at much better rates than we've seen in the past. It's also important to have weapons that are more difficult to obtain, whilst having hand-out weapons like the Reyaar & Xover series. Every weapon should not be a handout.
      I of course don't have an issue with working for something. But what happened in our scenario shouldn't be possible. So there needs to be mechanics that prevent such things from happening. Not seeing one personally, is one thing. But for NONE of us to see even one, is pretty absurd.

    • @Adam-bc1un

      They should make the collection weapon system like in base PSO where you fill up a Progress from killing specific enemies from specific quest and get the weapon after the progress is done

    • @Spikesxu
      @Spikesxu  2 месяца назад

      @@Adam-bc1un I think this would be a nice addition. However It would need to be tweaked to NGS standards. As mentioned before in my previous Wingard video, I believe it's important that we have easy to obtain (hand outs) weapons like Reyaar & Xover, as well as hard to obtains, like Wingards.
      If they were to implement a system that guarantees you see a super rare drop of that quest (In this case, a Wingard) after filling a certain bar, it would need to be a high number of clears, in order to keep the rarirty/scarcity of the item. Basically, you can still get lucky from RNG, but for the grinders who want & like to put the time in, it rewards you from the hours upon hours spent grinding.
      To further, I think this system should only be applied to Boss-Type Quests that highlight & specify these new sought after items. So, Dalion-MDFA-Solus type fights.
      It's a delicate balance. Because you make things too easy, you lose half your player base. You make things too hard, you lose half your player base. Which is why, to go full circle, I really applaud how they've introduced so many relevant weapon options for players, whilst having the Wingard the scarce weapon to chase after.
      It's not the drop rate that bothers me so much as it is the fact that you can collectively clear 200 times & no one see even one.

      Well the thing is that we do have weapon crafts in the form of Reyaar Xover's. They have continued to implement craftable weapons. But it's important that they do have weapons like the Wingard that are drop-only's. Honestly how they have it now is a great balance and allows for a plethora of versatility. All in all, what you need in this game is pretty accessible. And as mentioned in the video, the Rare Drop Rate isn't what's the problem in my eyes in regards to Wingard. It's simply the mechanics that they have that can allow a group to run it as many times as we have & not see a single one through all of us.
      To be clear, I don't want handouts. I like the grind. I think games that hand everything to you are boring & there's no point to play them. However, you shouldn't be able to run the hardest content in the game, that takes 10-15 minutes to clear per run. As many times as we did with the amount of boosters we had, & no one see even one. For me not to see one, is one thing and was very much within the realm of expectability when I went into it. But it's actually baffling that not even one of us got a single one.

      All around, everything in the game is fairly easy to obtain, but there are certain key aspects that could be addressed. It's important however to not hand everything out, but also important to create systems that benefit those who do want to put the time in grinding & not make it feel completely without.
