Once again I humbly request you to please after this big battle, please do mention the comeback battles of marathas under general mahadji shinde which were battle of Delhi and maratha invasion of rohillkhand to take revenge from rohilla pathans as in my view it would be a fitting end to this series where rohilla pathans were punished for taking side of the invaders against India
Mahadji shinde wasn't the only one. the comeback was at an all India level. It involved the marathas facing internal disputes, the British, jats, rohillas, rajputs,Nizam,Hyder Ali and many other parties. It could get quite difficult to cover. Plus it lasted from 1761-1795. Let's see how this channel covers it. They are super creative
Series like these take months of planning and work. Content cannot be decided in runtime to be modified and updated. We will cover that part of the history but it will not be as part of this series.
@@Historiography well still i apreciate your work whole heartedly, and also please do try to make videos on campaigns of santaji ghorpade and dhanaji jadhav and on 27 year mughal maratha war it would be epic
@@Historiography yes we can understand, but pls see through it that a video on the campaign of visaji biniwale, ramchandra ganesh and Mahadji Shinde is also made soon.
I have been following Maratha history, especially the tactical aspects of their North India campaigns post Peshwa Bajirao 1 and the incidents which led to the Panipat Battle. In my opinion, Maratha Empire under Peshwa Nanasaheb Balaji Bajirao should have raised an army of at least four lakh soldiers, along with a large contingent of canons and musketeers. And 60% of them should have been deployed in North alone, given the complex political scenarios there due to a weak Mughal rule, along with the rise of Jats, Sikhs and Rohillas. Also English East India Company too was a big threat after Battle of Plassey. Although raising such a large army would have definitely put a pressure on Maratha economy, but this could have been a risk worth taken as Marathas could not only have unified the entire country politically after the downfall of Mughals, they could have also presented themselves a direct challenger to Durranis and Britishers. Abdali would have thought many times before taking on such a large, modernised and disciplined army as the act would have been seen as an open invitation for total destruction of his empire.
You're right. They needed a larger army given the big threats and huge area they had to cover. But unfortunately Marathas could never manage to raise army more than strength of 1 lakh. Still they were always in debt. Shortage of money was their biggest concern. Had they conquered Bengal - Bihar instead Punjab in their 1758 campaign - history would have been different. Bengal was richest province then. Since British captured it - they never looked back.
My humble request to Hindu mother's every day please must be add soya flakes in any veg recipe's now it gives both proteins and vitamins. Actually veg recipes are not give protien's so please be two tablespoon's soya flakes in any veg recipe's now it gives both proteins and vitamins.
For Pathans it can be understood that they are a warrior and tough race just like Turks and Mongols....Suri, Lodhi, Hotaki dynasties were all Pashtun by ethnicity in last thousand years......but I wonder how Marathas suddenly became warrior race in 18th century....was it because of Malik Ambar or mountainous environment.
That quality was already there in the Marathas just a capable leadership was required. From time to time if you go through annals of history you will see different regions of India gave rise to world class warriors from northeast to West and from Kashmir to the south so same goes for Marathas. People changes with time 😃
historical references of maharashtra or maharathi can be found even from BCE era. maharathi, marathi, maharashtri, maharashtra, maharatta, marhatta, maratha are linguistic distortions of same word happened through generations. maratha history starts from 16th century is misconception, for eg. mukane royal family of jawhar, thane district, MH had maintained their fiefdom even before mughals just like mewar rajputs, but no one knows that because one thing, lack of media PR, unlike punjabis and rajashtanis due to their proximity to capital delhi, the maharastrians have neither realized importance of PR nor given their share of importance in national history book curriculum.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the most revered icon of the Marathas who laid the foundation of Swaraj (self-rule) in the Indian sub-continent. The year 1670 was a watershed year when, on 4 February, a small contingent of sharp warriors selected by Shivaji climbed the Kondana fort near Pune in the most ingenious manner and attacked the heavily guarded fort, sited on a hilltop with cliff around it, taking the defenders by a complete surprise. A fierce hand to hand combat ensued, defeating the Army of Mughals. This significant success by a small contingent became a great motivation for creation of a larger force. The Marathas soon captured many forts in quick succession leading to the rise of the Maratha Warrior with Shivaji Maharaj as their crowned leader.
The Maratha society was "proud-spirited and warlike" as Chinese scholar and pilgrim Xuanzang described, around 1000 years before chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj lived. Since much of Maharashtra lies on the rugged terrain of the western Deccan Plateau, life wasn’t exactly easy. Since the land was not very rich, the societal rich were not very wealthy either. Those who were poor often joined the armed forces as that gave a good opportunity for people to climb up the social ladder.... The great Marathas 🚩🚩
the way of presenting is absolutely amazing it seems we are also a part of that army

@@Historiography I agree especially with this time period it's just way too complicated to do it in detail under less than six months
