    A nice touch on the KSP’s arpeggiator is to hit record and it’ll record it into a sequencer pattern. They’re a good controller (once Arturia sorted out the atrocious midi timing 😉) enjoy 👍

      @@praticle Make sure you have the V2 firmware installed. I was hoping it would do this when I initially bought mine when they first released it but it took a while for them to implement it… Have fun ✌️

    Hi Polarity, as I now saw a couple of your videos, I even started to create my first tracks with Bitwig (coming from 10 years Ableton). I have to say yes! It is better and it is fun fun fun!! Number one tip, pink noise matched equalizing and all ya stuff for generative midi .. very useful. Thanks a lot! Keep on working like that!

    Thanks! Do you use a mixer to bus the audio? Or a multi-channel audio interface? I'm curious how you record everything. Bitwig makes external insts so easy, though I still have some crashes do to unintentional feedback loops if I'm not careful. Would love a video on your workflow, how you improvise and create using this setup.

    In anybody having troubles with the cv outputs of KSP? when using them with my DFAM or my Sub-H sometimes some keys fails to trigger, not al them and sometimes it changes wich key fails.

      @@degstep9968 best I could do was in the Bitwig Synchronization settings, Sync Method to off, and I turned on first three orange buttons for Keystep Pro MIDI OUT. I think XNB has since done a deep dive video into KSP, with correct settings for Bitwig.

    Great! I'd like to make a pair of questions...
    I got a Keystep Pro and a Mother32, but always connected them with a midi chain, with a Moog Sub37, an Akai Remix16 and a TR8S by Roland, all receiving clock from an old but efficient Ableton Live 8.2.
    But if I want to make something like this, what about the Keystep Pro CV configurations?
    Does the Mother need to be set up to receive/send the global clock signal?
    Thank you;)

    I'm stuck in a dilemma. I thought you could record hardware synths into bitwig into a single instrument track and record not only midi data but also the audio...just like when you have a soft synth and record into an instrument track where it captures both audio and midi.
    I changed my studio around 6 months ago and moved from a Focusrite interface with midi to a Soundcraft mixing board with an audio interface and now also a midi interface. As I have learned, when I record an instrument track into bitwig from a hardware synth I have to also have an audio track recording as well then go in and change the midi notes and rerecord the audio track to record the changes. Also I've discovered that the hardware synth is tied to the midi track in Bitwig so if I turn it down there's no audio from the instrument track.
    Is there not a way to record hardware into bitwig the same way you would record a soft synth into an instrument track and capture both midi and audio in the same track? I've been informed you can't do that but I thought I could back when I was using my Focusrite. Please any clarification would be great

    Hi great video as always... Id like some help, Im a beginner on this, I bought a keystep 37 to use with my Bitwig, but can't get it to work well. If someone can explain to me how can I have this connect in the best way, I appreciate a lot, really need this to work. Also I have a Maschine mikro ...and going to start buying some hardware synth next.

    Nice set up!
    Im thinking about getting a DFAM because I love the analog drum design aspect of it, but Im thinking about whats the best way to use it in my workflow and production,
    I dont use a lot of outboard gear, mainly in the box, and I use a Sequential pro 3 as my main synth, do you recommend arturias keystep as a good controller for the dfam?

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  Год назад

      just record it (dfam) and cut it in the box would be my recommendation. the dfam itself only really needs a clock pulse to work in sync with the daw, for that a keystep would be probably too much. so it depends if you want to use more features of the keystep or not. Korg SQ-1 could be a nice option for you. its cheap, has usb in, spits a clock out and you can use the cv outs to modify some steps on the dfam (which is needed imo). the dfam sequencer is quite limited and you want to have as many cv control signals as possible (later on) to make beats more interesting without recording to the daw first.

      @@PolarityMusic thx! sorry for the late reply, Ive actually got a keystep pro coming in because i use a virus ti2 as my main synth for production and sound design. Although I dont focus on live sound, I am still interested in gettin a dfam to create drum seqeuences wit the keystep and record into daw when i create something i love, Im jus really bad with connections and stuff. but this is definitely simple for u!

    Hi Polarity! It makes sense to buy the keystep pro without having any synth, just to use it as a sequencer for vsti and bitwig? Maybe for creating chord, arpegios, drum patterns and then send midi to bitwig? Thanks!!

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  2 года назад +1

      oh sure, you can probably do everything with software but if you like the haptics and the workflow of the key step then totally. It’s like having an hardware sequencer :)

    Hello, looking your video is very interesting. I'm interested to setup the same configuration for me.
    I would like to know if you can share a little bit more details about the patching for the clock between KSP and Mother-32 and DFAM and Subharmonicon which port IN and OUT from each element ?
    Also patching from KSP to Mother-32 which port IN and OUT for the track2 ?
    Is it possible to connect also track3 to DFAM and track4 to Subharmonicon, or it make no sense ?
    Thanks a lot in advance for your help, Best, Fabrice

    • @PolarityMusic

      bitwig -> usb -> ksp
      ksp clock out -> dfam adv/clock in
      ksp voice 2 gate -> subharmonicon trigger in
      ksp voice 2 pitch -> subharmnicon vco1 in
      ksp midi out -> m32 midi in (i use midi out for track 3 instead of the voice outs)
      i also use the seq from the subharmonicon for the dfam (seq1 out)

    Is it possible to have all 4 of KSP’s sequencer tracks output MIDI to control 4 Bitwig Instruments simultaneously?

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  2 года назад

      yes. you get the keyboard tracks as midi channels. and the driver in bitwig can send each sequencer to a different track
