Great album and pressing. Sam’s vocals sound so good on here. Slowly becoming one of my demo albums. If you’re looking to expand your audiophile soul collection, pick up Bill Wither’s Greatest Hits, MOFI pressings. The tracklist is killer and the sound is sublime.
Sam Cooke is a LEGEND! I have a couple compilations including the portraits of legend like the one you have and a OG of the best of Sam Cooke also. I know I asked you about this Sam Cooke too lol, but definitely gonna cop this after my 2 kids Birthdays this month lol. Sam Cooke was, is, and will always be a soul legend. Great video as always brotha man, Much love.
Hi, thanks for the review. I will be happy to see more reviews of mid tier audiophile grade reprint...I actually bought this one after watching the review. That being said do you find Sam voice being pushed slightly behind all instruments. Especially for the first track on A side. The rest i feel are more balanced or maybe my ear adapted for this type of presentation but I felt that his voice should have been positioned in a more forward manner. To be honest the instruments sound amazing bit still...he should be the star of the show...or at least i feel so...
Absolutely essential album perfection 😍
I agree!

I should have talked more about the other tracks - the rooster track with Billy Preston is just killer.
@@PiecesofVinyl We always overthink after we post. It was a great video. Don’t sweat it!

I love this record man. I plan on doing more about Sam Cooke - I want to get all of his stuff. Thanks again for watching happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
@@PiecesofVinyl Happy 4th of July brotha man. Much love
While that compilation is indeed an excellent one, Night Beat is a work of art from start to finish. I’m glad to see someone discussing it!
I just got Mr. Soul as well - found a Kevin Gray from analog spark!
Love Sam Cooke and Yes 'Night Beat' is his best album. Try and get the compilation 'Keep Movin' On' from ABKCO . You will love
it 👏
Thanks! I will check it out for sure!

That might be in the recording?
