Thank you so much for playing this. Elvis was one of a kind. He had his own style, his own look, his own way. He was one of the only ones who could do live like this. You hit the nail right on the head, singers don't do this today because they can't. So much manipulation goes on in the studio today, it's really hard to appreciate any singer's true voice. And note, Elvis sang live with 50-year old equipment. Can you even begin to imagine what he'd sound like with today's technology? And he sang from his heart, from his soul. That can never, ever be duplicated or imitated.
OMGOSH...Sometimes forget just how phenomenal Elvis was after long periods of time not hearing him. REALLY THE KING OF ROCK and don't give a damn about his race or color since he grew-up with the poor in the black neighborhood. Soul isn't something following race and Elvis had tons of it. Every time I hear him, I pray for his suffering soul as his life really wasn't that easy. Thank-you for this Black from the Past...And, yes; many of us DO remember where we were and what we were doing when hearing of Elvis dying. THAT is epic.
I love that Elvis dosnt take it so seriously He has a laugh about him loosing breath and forgetting the lyrics. Then he picks up where he left off and continues After watching alot of his live performances, I love his humour 😂😂
He was just plain good so good that no one will ever come closer to him handsome full of charisma and a voice. No one could talk. We love this man for 90 years well since 1956 anyway.
Happy 90th to EP... the King.. This concert was so good... I could watch this over and over .. and I have.. I was 1 when this came out.. yes I'm old.. but Elvis never gets old. He's just so good. Love him more for playing with the crowd.. and that's were he shined.. playing to a live audience.. he fed off the crowd.
I saw him twice in concert once around this time period and once the year before he passed. I’ll never forget it! When he passed I drove to Memphis to pay my respects at Graceland.
I went to Memphis with my sister and cousin after he died. Sat on the side of Elvis Presley Blvd in 95 degrees just to watch the procession drive past. Still love him and miss him to this day.
Elvis loved to joke and fool around, never took himself to seriously except when he did his Aloha concert. That concert was probably the most important concert in his career. Broadcast live via satellite to over 40 countries with over 1 billion people seeing it. Elvis sang 22 songs to perfection. God rest his soul. Elvis will live on forever as long as people keep listening to his music. Thank you to you and channels like yours that are going back in time to rediscover the music from the best of the best. "Lord, You Gave Me A Mountain" is one of his best and most emotional songs.
Thank you for covering this. We, who lived in that era, remember him this way. He was extremely human and accepted all of that. I was always interested in anything he did, but my mother? My grandmother? ...... Wayyyy more than me because they understood the "sexy" of him. I was too young.
If you like his "scream" in this song, you need to check out the song "Trying To Get To You" from this same 68 Comeback special. It will blow your mind!
Thank You for Celebrating Elvis's Birthday with us !! Elvis use to play around with the Audiance to lighten things up, it was his way of Humanizing himself and I think it's how he broke the ice, so that everyone could just relax and enjoy themselves and we Loved him for it. ❤❤❤
Great song choice!! It was 23 degrees yesterday here in Memphis yet so many came to Graceland in honor of Elvis’s birthday. Many from other countries. His music will live on forever. ✌🏻❤🕺🏻
Did you know the bass singer from the Oak Ridge Boys ( Richard Sterban ) sang back up for Elvis prior to joining the Oak Ridge Boys. He was part of the JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet who was Elvis’ back up singers .
I believe this is from a TV Special he did as The Beatles were dominating the charts to show that he still had the goods. He did another in the 70s where he was dressed in a stark white suit solo on stage. That version of "In The Ghetto" became the stuff of legend.
My first 45 was Jailhouse Rock from the late 50’s and have been a faithful fan since then. I saw this broadcast on tv a long time ago. The whole show was great, the real Elvis.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to Elvis Presley; the best there ever was or ever will be. It's very hard to not like Elvis if you see his actual performances. He always gave it everything he had & it made him a fun, genuine person. His personality always shone through along with his incredible voice. Thanks for helping Elvis fans celebrate his special day.
Perfect video to review - shows Elvis comfortable with his buddies, small enough audience that it wasn't really a "performance". His spoofing himself was a riot. It's a shame that he didn't do more of these - might have kept him grounded in reality.
Check out this whole TV special, it's amazing! Yes, aloha from Hawaii is tremendous!! Another song to check out is Separate Ways which is a beautiful song! Any live performances from the 1970's will do no wrong as well!! There's nothing wrong with celebrating his birthday cause it recognizes a talent that helped build music we love ❤!!
I agree with you Sebs. I love seeing him have all of this interaction with the audience. He jokes around and we get to see more of his personality. I love it! I hope he's up there singing in heaven!
90 yrs old Before he passed He did So much Famous quote by : Elvis Someone asked him Do you support the Draft Quote : Honey I'll like to keep my personal thought to myself { I'm just a entertainer} That today you can't find {I'm just a entertainer } ! Look at what he did in 22 yrs . Best friend as a child was a kid who's name Sam Bell Now has a Bench in Tupelo MI
If you ever see the clip with his lead guitarist scotty moore Who talks about when he 1st Met Elvis He was called in the studio & the rest is Music History Scotty moore & DJ Fontana Were in alot of his movies Look up scotty moore & its good because He was called in to get a better Guitar player - Elvis Name is what was funny & scotty reaction to when he heard the name : Elvis .
He IS incredible! My favorite from the ‘68 Comeback Special is “Memories.” A gorgeous melody and tender lyrics that Elvis delivers beautifully. Check it out.
Happy birthday to the king!I've had the pleasure of going to graceland a few times amazing place u can feel his presence there!on one will ever come close to the king!pure raw sexy talent he had rizz before rizz was a thing!
Happy 90th Birthday to one of all-time favorite performers. Elvis has been part of my life since I was a child. My Uncle Sam White and his band The Cut-Ups performed with Elvis & Jeannie C Riley. I have a picture of them all together in Vegas.
Just found you on RUclips the other day and love watching you see Elvis and others performing. I'm 62 years old and have been a huge fan of his as long as I can remember. Keep enjoying the music I grew up on. Nothing like it!
The "Come Back" was in '68. "Heartbreak Hotel", his first #1 hit on the RCA label after Sam Philips (owner of the legendary Sun Records) sold Elvis' contract to RCA, was released in '56. Thankfully, RCA had the smarts to use Sam's iconic "echo" effect on their production of Heartbreak Hotel. The song, by the way, was co-written by Mae Axton, the mother of legendary singer/songwriter Hoyt Axton.
Como não amar esse ser iluminado que veio ao mundo com uma voz tão marcante e uma beleza estonteante sem igual ETERNO ELVIS PRESLEY THE KING FOREVER FOREVER ❤
Elvis, apparently, was much better looking in the flesh than he already was on screen and in photos. Hard to believe. So many women and (heterosexual) men openly said he was the most beautiful human being they'd ever seen. Also that he was one of the nicest people one could imagine. Just watch these clips of various celebrities talking about Elvis: ruclips.net/video/1dOfpXg6on0/видео.html various people about Elvis Goldie Hawn 8:33, ruclips.net/video/aznpMRCvK6s/видео.html BB King, ruclips.net/video/oE2CrArkatY/видео.html Nancy Sinatra (Frank Sinatra's daughter), ruclips.net/video/2jY-sS6rFDc/видео.html Kurt Russell (who acted opposite Elvis age 10 and who also played Elvis in a movie), ruclips.net/video/1FhGY_sVsfM/видео.html kurt russell, ruclips.net/video/-69L_0f2en4/видео.html Jerry Reed (who wrote and played guitar on Guitar Man and who starred in many Burt Reynolds movies), ruclips.net/video/mzuTA5ES9fA/видео.html walter matthau richard egan jerry lieber jerry schilling (Walter Matthau played opposite Elvis in King Creole, Richard Egan played opposite Elvis in Love Me Tender), ruclips.net/video/qN6dBTlT3HA/видео.html Ed Ashner (played opposite Elvis in Kid Galahad and Change of Habit), ruclips.net/video/hWFA29tOul4/видео.html Harry Morgan (starred with Elvis in Frankie & Johnny), ruclips.net/video/ywsuK3sRtLI/видео.html Mac Davis (singer songwriter who wrote In the Ghetto), ruclips.net/video/ASofKyyYTlI/видео.html Joe Namath (veteran football player), ruclips.net/video/N-KDZ7E3S7A/видео.html Bruno Kirby (actor and fan). It's crazy to think that Elvis has been dead longer than he has lived, yet his fandom is still growing. Passed away at 42 and now gone for 47 years. The fun part of Elvis was his smirk. That wasn't because he was full of himself, but because he remained baffled to some degree that people were going so crazy/hysterical over him. In the 1968 Singer (later dubbed Comeback) Special there's a moment when he's delivering a scripted line and Charlie Hodge interrupts him to pick a piece of tissue off his cheek. Elvis had just wiped the sweat off his face with a tissue a girl in the audience gave him and a little piece got stuck on his face without him being aware of it. Charlie got the piece of tissue off of Elvis' cheek and gave it to a girl in the audience who then, seriously, proceeded to PUT IT IN HER PURSE!!!! Elvis saw it and was both amused and embarrassed and said "Never ceases to amaze me, boy, I tell ya." while shaking his head in embarrassed disbelief.
I am 66 and when I was 14, I had tickets to see Elvis live in Atlanta and he had to cancel. Man, I was so disappointed. And let me just say, dang those high cheekbones of his 🔥. He was so good!
You should look up some of the Country's Family Reunion its about old Country stars sing and sitting around telling stories...The Malpass Brothers are fanyastic and they opened for Merle Haggard for years.
Hello sebs&Ali happy New year to you both and hope you have a wonderful anniversary at Vegas . And hope Ali pregnancy is doing well please keep us updated ok.
This is actually an excerpt from the ‘68 Comeback Special and I know you’ve reacted to a couple different things from it but you really should watch the whole special in its entirety. It’s awesome from beginning to end I think. Happy birthday Elvis!! I believe you and Dolly are 2 spirits that will forever!! 💖🦋
Thank you, I love your channel.I love your Elvis reactions. You might want to consider. It feels so right from the Elvis bag album.Supposedly it was the hardest song he recorded and the highest note recorded in the studio😊
Elvis was 33 for the 1968 T V special. He died at 42. Look at later photos of him and realize what a horrible waste he made of his huge talents. He and I share the 1/8 birthday . Value your life!!!!

There will never be another like him
Elvis was an entertainer! His incredible voice and charisma was so unique… There will never be another Elvis!
Greatest of all time. By a landslide
Elvis has that Smile. When he smiles, it makes you want to smile also. Beautiful man.
I think you’d enjoy “Elvis, that’s the way it is” it’s a rehearsal/ show documentary. You’ll see Elvis’ personality and sense of humour.
I love that Elvis dosnt take it so seriously
He has a laugh about him loosing breath and forgetting the lyrics.
Then he picks up where he left off and continues
After watching alot of his live performances, I love his humour 😂😂
Saw him 5 times. In 60 years no one comes close. This special showed how special
He really was. Most handsome singer ever. He had fun when he sang.
Happy Heavenly Birthday my King. Imagine, he hadn't even played live for 8 years at this point. Amazing. This man could do no wrong in my eyes xxx

ELVIS ... 90 or 900 years, he is immortal!! ... A singer for eternity!!! … Happy Birthday Elvis 💖💎✨ 🕺🏻🕯 Thank you
I really like the more relaxed informal setting. I enjoyed this video very much. Elvis was immensely talented and simply gorgeous !
This was an outtake from the 1968 special. It was in the valut for 20 years before being played on MTV and MuchMusic.
If you like his "scream" in this song, you need to check out the song "Trying To Get To You" from this same 68 Comeback special. It will blow your mind!
Quinntessential Elvis!
Saw him in concert a few years before he died....the charm, charisma, magnetism, the "presence" was still there!

I didn't know today was his birthday. I saw him a few days ago at Chick-fil-A. He didn't look a day over 60.
From the same performance check out “One night with you.” He makes the ladies crazy.
Check out what you want me to do, 68 comeback special
Elvis was 33 for the 1968 T V special. He died at 42. Look at later photos of him and realize what a horrible waste he made of his huge talents. He and I share the 1/8 birthday . Value your life!!!!
This was my Elvis. Too young for the 50s, but the charisma and the talent is soul shattering
