On a serious note, you totally may have helped me and a lot of people.. I will take a closer look at my front end. I never knew what you have shared.. that's why you're awesome 👍
Such a great video. I personally think that a nice tight suspension is more important than making more power. How a car handles to me is the most important aspect. I can’t wait to start upgrading the suspension in my 89 GT. Thanks for the inspiration my man!!!
I've lowered numerous Fox bodys and SN95 'Stangs over the last 30 years...and I have to admit, I never ever thought about the end links. Thanks for sharing! Great information!!!👍👍
Thanks. I lowered my car with eubacteria springs many years ago and never to this into consideration. I’m planning on upgrading some suspension pieces and I will definitely correct this.
yeah those plastic things are the factory nut holders for the swaybar. The nuts are molded into the plastic but when the time comes to remove the bolts because you want to upgrade the bushings the plastic is so brittle that it shatters as soon as you put a wrench in the bolts!
If you order a complete suspension kit (no sub frame connecter) from companies like MM for under $7K, & tune it correctly. It will ride like a BMW and perform like a Porsche. One of the biggest problem was the stock short wheelbase & rear hops, & unibody body rolls. With a set of custom weld inner sub connecters you can even cruz home with a flat tire. Best investment I ever did, & was much more useful & fun than buying HP.
Just ordered a set for my '93 Cobra. Eibach springs since the car was a couple of years old, stock links the whole time. Handling isn't bad, hopefully these will make it better. I've actually wanted to do this for a long time, I always suspected the tipped up sway bar wasn't ideal.
Unless the car is collectible--or used for drag racing--the most important suspension factor is replacing the factory 4-link with a torque-arm/panhard bar (or homemade 3-link). The reason NASA allows this modification in the CMC (Camaro/Mustang Challenge) class is because the Mustangs were at such a disadvantage to the Camaro. It completely transforms the handling.
Good video and thanks for the good content. I somewhat disagree on being most overlooked. I believe the most overlooked item is a good front lower control arm bushing. Switching Polyurethane, del a lum or Delrin at the lower control arms is probably one of most effective moves you can do to stabilize suspension geometry. Most Mustang guys unfortunately chase down aftermarket control arms before improving the factory control arm.
So, putting Sn-95 frame brackets and end links don't hurt the handling. It moved the sway bar away from the front drain plug, less oil drain mess is why I did it. The bar ends are parallel with the lower control arm.
Interesting! My ASC/McLaren is lowered from the jump and has an upgraded sway bar BUT appears to have the factory blue away bar link bushings. This leads me to believe they reused the factory links. I'll have to do some measuring. I may need to swap a part
Great information, could not agree more, changed both links and sway arm bushings over the summer on my new edge gt, they are almost same from end as the foxbody, it pretty cool how similar they are.
Good video Gary. Lowered my 86 Gt and 89 notch recently. Completely over looked the difference in lengths of sway bar end links. Embarrassing to say I replaced them with stock ride hight. Appreciate the advice.
I imagine you had a few words whenever it was that you smacked your finger. The great folks at LMR have designed a repair kit for the front bar mounting hardware when those OE plastic sections fly apart like that. Cheers!
Basic but overlooked important tech. I'd love to lower my 95 but between bad Maine roads and driveways and having 265/35r18 on cobra reps with wheel spacers dropping it much if any is nothing but bad. And as much as I don't like the idea of spacers I love the look of some wheel poke, I get compliments on the stance so often. I know this is a mainly Fox channel but us lowly hated 94/95 sn95 guys can use 75% of the fox tech. It's a tough year to fit in anywhere The fox guys turn there nose up at em and the OHC guys look down at em, personally I think there the best of both worlds, i love the looks of the 94-98s and as much of a nightmare they are to work on some day i want a 96-98 32v cobra that will walk bolt on coyotes.
Do you think this could effect the tracking of the car, by this I mean following the grooves in the road? Mine has been lowered converted to front cobra disc brakes, I didn't do this so don't know if it's sn95 spindles or what was used, everything done to it seems to be quality but was done quit a few years ago. I have put a bump steer kit in it and had a front end alignment, although I don't know if they properly adjusted the bump steer spacers. I also run 255 tires up front.
No, typically that is due to mis aligned tie rod ends. Have you seen my bump steer videos? I've done two of them in the last couple of months 👍. If you have a bump steer kit installed then chances are it needs more/less spacers to correct the alignment. The 255 tire won't do you any favours in this department either but if you're really noticing it tracking all over the place I would lean towards checking your bump steer kit
@@KASLCustoms That's where I was looking but figured I would ask from what my research tells me the spacers don't look right, definitely not parallel to lower control arms. I'm going to watch those videos thanks. It's driveable just wouldn't mind it a little better and yes I hear wider tires can contribute to this.
I don’t mean to doubt maybe just need a little more explanation, I thought a sway was to prevent body roll by almost acting as a torsion bar so I don’t understand how a slight change in angle would change its effectiveness
You are 100% correct however in a misaligned scenario, as one A-arm moves up or down, it improperly corresponds a torsion affect to the other A-arm. Sorry, it’s easier to show then to explain with words 😂👊
Your video provides an excellent explanation of the how’s & why’s of sway bar installation…..Perfect. Thank you
Thank you
I just did this over the summer with the Prothane links, also went with Eibach sway bars to match my sportline springs… Man what a difference!!
Hell yeah buddy!
On a serious note, you totally may have helped me and a lot of people.. I will take a closer look at my front end. I never knew what you have shared.. that's why you're awesome 👍
Thx buddy! Glad it helped 👊👊👊
The plastic retainers are the stock pieces, I had the same thing on my 86.
Yup, 94 they went to rivnuts in the frame and eliminated that stupid nut and bolt system the fox used.
Such a great video. I personally think that a nice tight suspension is more important than making more power. How a car handles to me is the most important aspect. I can’t wait to start upgrading the suspension in my 89 GT. Thanks for the inspiration my man!!!
Never knew I'll keep this in my tool box for when I do my suspension.
👊👊👊

Yessir!
Thanks. I lowered my car with eubacteria springs many years ago and never to this into consideration. I’m planning on upgrading some suspension pieces and I will definitely correct this.
Right on!
Gary, changed mine out to Prothane bushings, makes a big difference. Great video of possibly common knowledge that has been lost over time.👍
Nice! Thanks buddy!!

Plastic was already brittle 20 years ago
Another fella mentioned that and when he did it brought back memories. Yes, you are correct 😂👊
Awesome work Brother! I need to check mine now....
Thank you sir 👊👊👊

Love the longer videos 💪🏻
Thx buddy!
Thanks for the video. I am actually dealing with that problem myself right now.
Yessir!
Great video, also love how clean and organized your shop is👍
Thx dude!!!

Years ago I able to get my hands on a Herb Adams Sway bar. I has adjustable spherical rod ends for end links.
Very cool!
Thanks this is something I’m about to tackle.
Yessir! Glad it helped 🍻
Going to check mine tomorrow, thanks!
Yessir!
Good video and thanks for the good content.

Interesting - I want to know what you find out!
Great information, could not agree more, changed both links and sway arm bushings over the summer

I did the same thing on my 90 vert. Now i got a winter project
Yessir! Glad I could help 👊👊👊
Hahaha - sorry, I’m not trying to add to anyone’s “list” 😂👊
Hey , how do you expect me to watch this sway bar tips ?
I can't stop looking at the new rack and pinion!!!
Hahaha! Not sure if you caught the video on that but I just released it last week 👊
I did all of this to my sway bar and brought the relocation sway bar kit.
Nice!
So does the cars wheels should be in the ground so the bar can be parallel or on floor Jack's be ok
Yes, load the suspension prior to tightening any bushings.
Thank You😇
You bet!

Oh yeah buddy! That was a doozy…. Oh wow I didn’t know that - thx for the info 👍

94-95 had some nice color options
You won’t get any hate from me buddy. I love the SN cars 👊👊👊

I have an 86 Gt .. Does your information apply??
Yes

Yah probably would be easier to understand seeing it. I love learning about some of these more technical things. Keep up the great videos 👍
I’m pretty sure that plastic piece you cracked was original. The OEM police are crying right now…..lol
Come to think of it I believe you are correct 😂👊
Looks like you have a bump steer kit, but you're still on the wrong side of good. What is the solution?
The video I just released before this one was all about the rack and bunpsteer instal if you’re interested in having a watch
Get some new impregnated bushings....tight AF
Why did you tske out the old ones then film??
You must have missed the video I released before this one, they came out when I changed the rack
You got no roll centre correction. Forget sway bars
fram orange oil filter is a NO, NO!!!
