The chuckle is Hongjoong's rapper signature. You will often hear it (if not always) before he starts rapping, just like Mingi says FIX ON before starting his. Idk if you listen to Monsta X, but Jooheon and I.M also have their own little signature. I dont remember Jooheon's one exactly, but I.M. says I am what I am.

I'm glad someone else had the same feeling while listening to New World: so much going on, but no more words to say! 😂After all the heavy and intense theming, New World has a really interesting texture that is both desperate and hopeful, describing dystopia and utopia at the same time with heavy instrumentation that is interrupted by the light syths and "This, New, Wold" before each chorus. We're almost a week into having this album and I'm still trying to find words to describe it!
Guerrilla and Gorilla are pronounced the same. One is a style of warfare based on small surprise attacks and then fleeing and the other is the type of ape. Guerrilla warfare was really common in Vietnam as well in the early/mid 1900s. It benefits smaller armies on their home terrain that is especially difficult to navigate for their enemies like the dense jungles and swamps of Vietnam for American soldiers who are used to plains, deserts, marshland, less dense forests, and mountains.
Hongjoong’s laugh/chuckle is his thing before his verses. Like how Mingi says “Fix On” (which he’s said is like saying fix on/pay attention because he’s about to go off)
Of course we'd like to see more ATEEZ content on the stream, duh. ;) But truly, sorry I missed your twitch start to watch this review live! I was blown away by this album, Cyberpunk is my jam from this one, and I am so overwhelmed by how really amazing, cohesive, and hard-hitting this album is. It's fascinating that it never goes TOO far, always just bumps up against that wall (break the wall!) and then backs off a hair so as a listener we're not having to make a particular commitment to any one sound, if that makes sense. The fact that Sector 1 uses a section of music from a video made 2 years ago and finally brings it all forward now!? Ah-maz-ing. The fact that this is alllll planned out is a mindblower. Also, one of the lore-TINY types suggested that the time frame of each MV is shown in the end snippet, as to where it fits in the world timeline, and that kinda has me scratching my head and thinking a bit too hard.
I'm glad you enjoyed this just as much too! This definitely my style because of what I listen to outside of kpop but I was wondering a bit how it would land for everyone else. Also I can't imagine the amount of lore there is to unbox right now 😰

I think this album is similar to Treasure pt 1. I mean, the songs from that first album feel like they're connected and i feel the same with this album. As if each song is telling us a part of a story.
