I think Dan surpasses Will in being the best player. I don't think Will could have done as well as he did in Season 2 if the Veto was available and I don't think he could have survived All Stars if Janelle and Boogie weren't there for him to latch on to.

Just by Ian's obvious disbelief and re-uttering of the word "what" shows who should have won this season. Dan orchestrated the move that saved Ian's life in this game, and despite the end result it was still the best decision in the scenario he was in. Shane was definitely not taking Dan to final two but Ian and Danielle would have done so in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, Ian still would of been my second pick to win, but next to Dan second place should have been set in stone. Unfortunate a bitter jury had to come in the way of making history and giving the crown to the rightfully deserved.

Dustin Gabe He definitely was not going to beat Shane in the jury, and there was a slim chance he would beat either Danielle or Shane in the final HOH competition. Even if Danielle won, she was most likely taking Shane, not Dan. That’s a 1/3 chance of making it to Final 2, not 2/3. With Danielle + Ian in Final 3, he’s basically guaranteed to make it to the finale. You have to be a moron to think this is a bad move.
Ian won because Brittany was going around the Eviction Household telling people that Dan was a snake and Ian deserved to win. It's kind of like when the loudest and most persuasive trial juror convinces a group of undecided jurors to go one way. They shouldn't allow the jurors to discuss who should/shouldn't win (just like the HOH can't explicitly say who is going on the block). Either that or just sequestered them individually.

At 5:21 the music that plays in the background for Dan has played for only one other houseguest in BB history: Dr. Will. Even the producers knew what they were watching this season was legendary.
Anyone who denies Dan being the greatest player of all time after this move is just biased/doesn't understand Big Brother. He has a power of persuasion unlike any other. I have watched all seasons. Dr. Will is awesome, charismatic and entertaining as hell but that is the only area in which he beats Dan. Derrick was also very good and played a quiet, strategic game but we'd have to have him on a different season to gage his skills on the same level as Will and Dan.
Difference is that will played against the best players ever in their prime while dan played against idiots who never watched the show. Will is the original reality TV villain. Without Will, BB is probably drastically different

Yasmine Xo Well Season 2 was the first real season of BB so no one really knew how to play. They recruited people to play in season 14, Shane, Willie, Danielle, Frank, Jenn etc. They have been recruiting people to play for a while now. Yes Boogie, Janelle, and Brittney were vets, but Boogie and Janelle were past their primes.
Season 2 has a very underrated cast. A lot of players played like Will, Nicole, Monica, Hardy, Krista and to some extent Jeff Kent and Mike Boogie. Season 10 did not have a lot of smart players, but season 14 was even worse. Most of the newbies in s14 were recruits who had never seen the show before, and most of the newbies were either actors, or were applying for a different show. Dan beat a bunch of people who had no idea what they were getting themselves into.
Dan is the greatest player of all time. won his season, got 2nd on this one. AND, by playing completely different styles of game in each season. nobody can touch him, not even Dr. Will. Derrick too.
That wasn't even that big since they told him he was going. Season 17 better have playing people. It just irks me to think that someone who hasn't won one competition (The veto was GIVEN to her), may win $500,000.

When i was watching this season I was totally rooting for Ian but now that I look back, Dan should've totally won this. He was the genius behind *most* of the evictions and he back stabbed a lot of ppl to pull them off
Ian's Jury management was 100x better than Dans though. He volunteered for so many things and people always loved him for it, and he had a strategy coming into the game and he stuck with it the entire time. I will always say he deserved his win.

Looking back on this season, it is a travesty Dan didn’t win. Ian is great, but Dan is on another level. His game play is absolutely ruthless, strategic, thinking two steps ahead, just a masterclass. This jury was SO bitter, and yea I get it, jury management matters and is the reason Dan lost, but my god if they looked at this from a game point and didn’t include feelings, Dan would have won unanimous.
I loved this season. This season got me back into BB. I loved Ian and I was cheering for Ian to win when I was watching it but looking back on it, Dan should've won. Dan played a crazy game in BB14. I felt bad for Shane because I really liked Shane but this was an awesome blindside. Danielle's reaction made it so much better. It sucked that Dan lost looking back on it but if you really think about it, Dan didn't play to win. I mean he wanted to win but his gameplay wasn't winning strategy. Dan played to make it to the end, not to win. Kind of like Russell Hantz on Samoa and HvW. Ian played to win because he had better jury management skills. The most important thing is jury management skills. While Dan played a better game (his BB14 game is one of if not the greatest games ever), Ian played a smarter game. (Not smarter gameplay, smarter winning gameplay because of jury management skills + taking someone extremely hated). Dan played to make it to the end, Ian played to win. Ian played a good game, it sucks that people discredit his game because of how Dan lost.
People discredit Ian because there were various jury members who confessed that they didn't vote on who played the best game, and did more so out of spite/ bitterness. IMO the only thing you can discredit Dan for was not making people "like him enough while the knife is going in" when he stabs them in the back or does whatever he can to win. Then again I don't necessarily watch this show continuously and don't know if its _normal_ for the jury to vote on who played the game better, or against the person who got _them_ evicted in the first place. If you want a valid consensus on who played a better game, you would not have a SINGLE person who participated in that season voting, that's just plain stupid and there's always going to be some influence on who they pick based on their experience. They should replace the jury with avid fans of said season, or round up previous season players so they make a judgement without (ideally) any bias and on who performed better. /RantEnd

I can't believe Danielle was dumb enough to buy into Dan's plea to pull him off...after trying to evict Shane during the double eviction, how could she not think that he'd try to do it again? I don't know, I guess she wanted to prove some loyalty to Dan but removing him because she thought maybe Shane would evict him, but still, idk. However, Dan makes a valid point in that no one would vote for him in the end because he played so cutthroat and ruthless...this was pretty much the move that sealed his own fate as runner-up...with Danielle, I think Dan would've maybe got 1 or maybe 2 votes (probably Ian and Joe's)...he'd never get Frank, Britney, Shane, or Jenn's vote cause he screwed em all over. But at the same time, Joe, Jenn, and Ashley were wild cards and heaven knows which way they'd have voted had it been Dan and Danielle in the finals
Exactly, if it was Dan and Danielle he still would have lost. Britney would have voted for Dan and Jenn would've and Ashley maybe would've too depending on how he answered her question (I don't think she liked Danielle also). Frank, Joe, Ian, Shane would for sure vote for Danielle. Dan would have only gotten 2 or 3 votes anyways.
My favourite moment of that season. The funeral was good, but this was so awesome to see another legendary Dan POV speech along with Danielles jaw drop and Ian have a panic attack.
Here's the key difference between Steve and Ian. Steve was more aware than Ian. Ian was caught with his pants down numerous times, he was manipulated by Dan the entire season, and after Shane was blindside; he had no idea what the hell was going on. While Steve did vomit and get very nervous, he did those things in private. While he followed Vanessa and did whatever he wanted her to do, that was apart of his strategy. He knew Vanessa was a strong player, and could get him far, and the reason he did whatever she wanted him to do was because he wanted her to trust him, and wanted her to not seem him as a threat. Also, when Austin was blindsided; he pretty much knew Austin would be blindsided. The Shane and Austin blindsides were very similar. However, Steve pretty much knew Austin was going, while Ian had no idea Shane was going on. Ian had trouble breathing.
and it was steves plan to lay low the first half of the season. when that one hot girl that got hit by a train said he wasnt making moves and nominated him he said he knows and that was his plan to lay low the first half of the season. ian made dan look good in the finale but the jury was just so bitter. i dont think ian is one of the worst winners or anything because there has been some really bad winners but youre right ian was clueless as hell.

Deserving winners of Big Brother: Dr. Will, Evel Dick, Dan, Hayden, and Rachel. I'm glad the people who think Dan is a horrible person or a selfish money grubber are not in the game. The game's definition basically goes like this: lie, cheat, steal, backstab, etc. to win $500,000. The game is a social experiment and the interesting aspect of the game comes into play when players like Dan or Will can manipulate emotions and render common sense useless to the average houseguests. It is a shame that the houseguests aren't the only ones who can't tell that the show is just a game and not a reflection on personal character.
They are often - not always, but often - interfering with twists that are designed to cater to whomever the nebulous majority of viewers likes. I am not assuming. It's not an opinion. The evidence is right there in most of the post-All Stars seasons. I'm not saying that it's outright cheating, but yes, production does allow some contestants to have advantages over others, and they don't have to admit it because it's obvious. They did it last year with Elissa, whom I actually liked a lot.

I mean dan in this most recent season just wasnt impressive to me. he fooled a bunch of idiots that didn't even watch the game. will vs dan would be cool but i hope it doesn't happen. they would instantly be the targets and no matter what they do or say i doubt they can get out of it. just look at janelle and boogie when they played there third season they didnt even make jury.
All sympathies aside for the players, the reason the ending to this season was so epic was both because of how blindsided Danielle got, and then, how Dan didn't even win!

Shane had the only vote and would have sent Dan packing. Dude your lucky they kept your ass that long.
The thing is as well is that there would be no way that Shane would have taken Dan to the final 2 if he won the last HOH and whilst there was a chance that Danielle would have done I think she would have gone with her showmance partner if she was given the choice. Getting rid of Shane did keep around Ian who was a massive jury threat but at the same time it also guaranteed Dan second place regardless of who won the final HOH
Looking back, it was a bad move but that's only because we get to see that Shane would have evicted Ian, or at least the edit really made it look that way. Dan had everything working for him to keep Ian. He made a deal with Ian to take a dive in the first comp and for Danielle to dive right after him. I just think Dan could have done better in round 3. Those were some easy questions about the other houseguests. I don't think Dan could have won against Danielle or Shane either. Both of them were well liked and had jury friends that weren't bitter. Dan should have really played up the fact that his back was against the wall the whole time and he did everything he could to get to the end. Instead he just talked about his competitiveness and how good of a player he was knocking out everybody or something like that.

I think Dan surpasses Will in being the best player. I don't think Will could have done as well as he did in Season 2 if the Veto was available and I don't think he could have survived All Stars if Janelle and Boogie weren't there for him to latch on to.

Just by Ian's obvious disbelief and re-uttering of the word "what" shows who should have won this season. Dan orchestrated the move that saved Ian's life in this game, and despite the end result it was still the best decision in the scenario he was in. Shane was definitely not taking Dan to final two but Ian and Danielle would have done so in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, Ian still would of been my second pick to win, but next to Dan second place should have been set in stone. Unfortunate a bitter jury had to come in the way of making history and giving the crown to the rightfully deserved.

Dustin Gabe He definitely was not going to beat Shane in the jury, and there was a slim chance he would beat either Danielle or Shane in the final HOH competition. Even if Danielle won, she was most likely taking Shane, not Dan. That’s a 1/3 chance of making it to Final 2, not 2/3. With Danielle + Ian in Final 3, he’s basically guaranteed to make it to the finale. You have to be a moron to think this is a bad move.
Ian won because Brittany was going around the Eviction Household telling people that Dan was a snake and Ian deserved to win. It's kind of like when the loudest and most persuasive trial juror convinces a group of undecided jurors to go one way. They shouldn't allow the jurors to discuss who should/shouldn't win (just like the HOH can't explicitly say who is going on the block). Either that or just sequestered them individually.

Anyone who denies Dan being the greatest player of all time after this move is just biased/doesn't understand Big Brother. He has a power of persuasion unlike any other. I have watched all seasons. Dr. Will is awesome, charismatic and entertaining as hell but that is the only area in which he beats Dan. Derrick was also very good and played a quiet, strategic game but we'd have to have him on a different season to gage his skills on the same level as Will and Dan.
Difference is that will played against the best players ever in their prime while dan played against idiots who never watched the show. Will is the original reality TV villain. Without Will, BB is probably drastically different

Yasmine Xo Well Season 2 was the first real season of BB so no one really knew how to play.
They recruited people to play in season 14, Shane, Willie, Danielle, Frank, Jenn etc. They have been recruiting people to play for a while now. Yes Boogie, Janelle, and Brittney were vets, but Boogie and Janelle were past their primes.
Season 2 has a very underrated cast. A lot of players played like Will, Nicole, Monica, Hardy, Krista and to some extent Jeff Kent and Mike Boogie. Season 10 did not have a lot of smart players, but season 14 was even worse. Most of the newbies in s14 were recruits who had never seen the show before, and most of the newbies were either actors, or were applying for a different show. Dan beat a bunch of people who had no idea what they were getting themselves into.
Dan is the greatest player of all time. won his season, got 2nd on this one. AND, by playing completely different styles of game in each season. nobody can touch him, not even Dr. Will. Derrick too.

Ian's Jury management was 100x better than Dans though. He volunteered for so many things and people always loved him for it, and he had a strategy coming into the game and he stuck with it the entire time. I will always say he deserved his win.

Looking back on this season, it is a travesty Dan didn’t win. Ian is great, but Dan is on another level. His game play is absolutely ruthless, strategic, thinking two steps ahead, just a masterclass. This jury was SO bitter, and yea I get it, jury management matters and is the reason Dan lost, but my god if they looked at this from a game point and didn’t include feelings, Dan would have won unanimous.

I loved this season. This season got me back into BB. I loved Ian and I was cheering for Ian to win when I was watching it but looking back on it, Dan should've won. Dan played a crazy game in BB14. I felt bad for Shane because I really liked Shane but this was an awesome blindside. Danielle's reaction made it so much better. It sucked that Dan lost looking back on it but if you really think about it, Dan didn't play to win. I mean he wanted to win but his gameplay wasn't winning strategy. Dan played to make it to the end, not to win. Kind of like Russell Hantz on Samoa and HvW. Ian played to win because he had better jury management skills. The most important thing is jury management skills. While Dan played a better game (his BB14 game is one of if not the greatest games ever), Ian played a smarter game. (Not smarter gameplay, smarter winning gameplay because of jury management skills + taking someone extremely hated). Dan played to make it to the end, Ian played to win. Ian played a good game, it sucks that people discredit his game because of how Dan lost.

People discredit Ian because there were various jury members who confessed that they didn't vote on who played the best game, and did more so out of spite/ bitterness. IMO the only thing you can discredit Dan for was not making people "like him enough while the knife is going in" when he stabs them in the back or does whatever he can to win. Then again I don't necessarily watch this show continuously and don't know if its _normal_ for the jury to vote on who played the game better, or against the person who got _them_ evicted in the first place. If you want a valid consensus on who played a better game, you would not have a SINGLE person who participated in that season voting, that's just plain stupid and there's always going to be some influence on who they pick based on their experience. They should replace the jury with avid fans of said season, or round up previous season players so they make a judgement without (ideally) any bias and on who performed better. /RantEnd

I can't believe Danielle was dumb enough to buy into Dan's plea to pull him off...after trying to evict Shane during the double eviction, how could she not think that he'd try to do it again? I don't know, I guess she wanted to prove some loyalty to Dan but removing him because she thought maybe Shane would evict him, but still, idk. However, Dan makes a valid point in that no one would vote for him in the end because he played so cutthroat and ruthless...this was pretty much the move that sealed his own fate as runner-up...with Danielle, I think Dan would've maybe got 1 or maybe 2 votes (probably Ian and Joe's)...he'd never get Frank, Britney, Shane, or Jenn's vote cause he screwed em all over. But at the same time, Joe, Jenn, and Ashley were wild cards and heaven knows which way they'd have voted had it been Dan and Danielle in the finals

Here's the key difference between Steve and Ian. Steve was more aware than Ian. Ian was caught with his pants down numerous times, he was manipulated by Dan the entire season, and after Shane was blindside; he had no idea what the hell was going on.
While Steve did vomit and get very nervous, he did those things in private. While he followed Vanessa and did whatever he wanted her to do, that was apart of his strategy. He knew Vanessa was a strong player, and could get him far, and the reason he did whatever she wanted him to do was because he wanted her to trust him, and wanted her to not seem him as a threat. Also, when Austin was blindsided; he pretty much knew Austin would be blindsided. The Shane and Austin blindsides were very similar. However, Steve pretty much knew Austin was going, while Ian had no idea Shane was going on. Ian had trouble breathing.

Dan, in my opinion, is the greatest Big Brother player of all time he's the only person to be in the house twice and never be evicted he's amazing at manipulating people he deserved to win this season! I think Ian is a good player to but people were just bitter because Dan got everyone out and didn't vote for him even though he deserved it.

The game's definition basically goes like this: lie, cheat, steal, backstab, etc. to win $500,000. The game is a social experiment and the interesting aspect of the game comes into play when players like Dan or Will can manipulate emotions and render common sense useless to the average houseguests. It is a shame that the houseguests aren't the only ones who can't tell that the show is just a game and not a reflection on personal character.

They are often - not always, but often - interfering with twists that are designed to cater to whomever the nebulous majority of viewers likes. I am not assuming. It's not an opinion. The evidence is right there in most of the post-All Stars seasons. I'm not saying that it's outright cheating, but yes, production does allow some contestants to have advantages over others, and they don't have to admit it because it's obvious. They did it last year with Elissa, whom I actually liked a lot.

Shane had the only vote and would have sent Dan packing. This season had problems but Ian was nothing more than a weird giant child who fell into a victory just like Andy who also won out of spite from people who lost. BTW will someone explain why Adam Poch is giving his thoughts on BB16? Adam you and Jen City are a joke...you didnt win anything, you did nothing all summer then were all upset about being 3rd? Dude your lucky they kept your ass that long.
The thing is as well is that there would be no way that Shane would have taken Dan to the final 2 if he won the last HOH and whilst there was a chance that Danielle would have done I think she would have gone with her showmance partner if she was given the choice. Getting rid of Shane did keep around Ian who was a massive jury threat but at the same time it also guaranteed Dan second place regardless of who won the final HOH
Looking back, it was a bad move but that's only because we get to see that Shane would have evicted Ian, or at least the edit really made it look that way. Dan had everything working for him to keep Ian. He made a deal with Ian to take a dive in the first comp and for Danielle to dive right after him. I just think Dan could have done better in round 3. Those were some easy questions about the other houseguests. I don't think Dan could have won against Danielle or Shane either. Both of them were well liked and had jury friends that weren't bitter. Dan should have really played up the fact that his back was against the wall the whole time and he did everything he could to get to the end. Instead he just talked about his competitiveness and how good of a player he was knocking out everybody or something like that.
