I do it too and I'm not really sure where I got it from but hey, you're not alone! Really helps my playing alot.
I got it from synyster gates and then i saw that jake did it too but now ive kinda adapted to the hetfield style
i do it now mostly cause i have big hands and i notice i can play easier when i do it and it does kinda add some sort of stabilization

NIL6300 they guys in BVB are really good guitarists
NIL6300 jake and jinxx use profiling amps to get a virtually perfect tone
It's recorded directly from the Kemper Profiling Amp, so they can get studio similar tone without having to bring their entire setup with them. It's sounds really good, because you're not hearing any background noise, interference, etc., which you might've heard had they mic'ed the cabinets without being in a studio. They play pretty good, but any decent player can actually sound this good if they buy the Kemper and the stuff needed to record with it.

2:31 I think Jinxx's top guitar string was a little out of tune.
He was pressing too hard when palm-muting the string those triplets riff
If you noticed, Jinxx's style of playing is more aggressive than Jake's (the insane and fast down-picking of Jinxx playing is so hard on the 1st verse with that riff due to the string skipping). Jake is relaxed with a nice control of hand dynamics (even though their pick-ups are active), he uses a lot of alternate picking (usually common because of the pick slanting)
