I was willing to listen to the Irish guy, up to a point, on Yugoslavia, but when he started blaming Russia for the war in Ukraine, I realised how little research he does, or how little real understanding he has around complex historical conflicts. Russia did not 'take over Crimea' as if they're some kind of evil empire. They were *asked*, no *begged* for help. Its population, like the one of most of Ukraine, even in the West, are on Russia's side. Trust me, I know. I have relatives there. Even up to this day, the vast majority in Ukraine is on Russia's side. And by the way, this guy is so wrong, Donbas terror and apartheid started waaaaaay before 2014. It started after the fall of the Soviet Union.
His a globalist so he more than likely supports it as part of membership of the EU which means nothing, 26 of I counties of Ireland was a free state under British empire rule, it has less sovereignity now under the Imperialist entity EU. He will go far because he is a self interest comprador.

Tariq Ali collected a decent book of essays on it. A few are too sympathetic to Serbs. The Oskar LaFontaine speech is probably the fairest assessment.
