Chevy Impala cam phaser failure

This is a quick video of what cam phaser failure sounds like on cold start up. Bad cam phasers will and can cause all kinds of issues and it can cause the check engine light to come on.
This something to lookout for if you are looking to buy a Chevy Impala.

GM learned from Ford... how to mess up a perfectly good engine by putting junk phasers on the cams... Ford leads the way.

I am curious if you were able to replace these cam phasers with the engine in the car with only the valve covers off? Or did you have to drop the engine out of the car to get the front cover off to do the job?
