Just a random question. Currently in live, the more you skill up fishing, the more fish it takes to level up. So like 1-400 is fairly not too bad. I did it over a few 10-15 minute sessions. In the new format, is fishing in each new "Expansion" easy from like 1-25, then 25+ gets harder? Or is each expansion like on different average fish per skill up. Classic 1 to 2 fish per skill up. Outland 3-4, Northrend 5-6, etc ? I'm just wondering how independent expansions consider your total fishing for determining skill ups? I feel there would be the potential for improving fishing on previous expansions to be much faster than it would be to get say 700 to 800?

That is a solution but it isn't a good one if you don't like being spammed by constant notifications and alerts. I like to view content on my own terms. WTBGold is the only channel with this hideous outlining in the thumbnail and of course he can design it however he wants but I'm merely presenting an argument as to why it might end being more of a negative than a positive. One thing to note. early in the vid you point out redtail loach is a freshwater fish. Later when breaking down the mats for the bountiful captain's feast, you say it's a coastal fish (via captioning the image as such). other than that minor detail faux paux, great vid!

Oh, as far as supply? That's a great point! We don't have to worry about ganking in BFA, but there will definitely be servers where you'll have super cheap loach and super expensive perch.
It feels like the "on use" ability on the midnight salmon is a trap for those who do not know how valuable they are. As for the fish oil, I have been buying stacks of 10 fish oil for 2.5 gold off the brutosaur mount vendor. I don't see a reason to turn fish into fish oil unless it turns out there is one type of fish that has no use for crafting.

I wasnt sure if I should continue level it up or it would be greyed out. Im definitely going to stop now though Im not grinding for all the barrel fish pools. obviously the traits are more important

Great video. I have to say however that in the small pond above Boralis I have been fortunate enough to catch midnight salmon at 11:18 am, 15:20 and somewhere around 17:30. Maybe this will change in the future but as of last Saturday it was such.
They should have kept fishing like it used to be. If you didn’t already have ridiculously high fishing when a new expansion started, you weren’t catching shit. Make people go back to the Vanilla starting zones if they want to level up and be able to make fishing gold. 🙂
This makes me happy because fishing is my favourite way of making money. It was amazing in Warlords of Draenor since you could fish anywhere. It sucked in Legion cuz you needed to look for schools -_- Question though. Will Nat's hat and artifact fishing rod still work? Those give +25 to fishing right of the bat.
I havent seen anyone else mention it - 5 Catfish and 5 Sandshifter per day to be used as transmute to gems if you're an alchemist. I got 8 green level gems and 1 blue level (i.e not the gem type) from one transmute.

I caught the mount first cast near the piggy farm in alliance territory. I caught a second one before I maxed and traded it to the person fishing next to me.
How? By fishing and selling. Why? Cuz' it will bring you more gold at the start of the expansion (2000*500(maxprice. maybe?)= 1.000.000 Gold) what for? For selling in the Auctionhouse. They will Buy them for Feasts! :D
Not sure if you played back then, but that teleporting thing was extremely useful back when they did the booty bay fishing extravaganza... doesn't seem like they do them anymore, which sucks.. but winning those have nice fishing gear. Wish they'd make the gear BoA...
So a couple things. Midnight salmon has a 1% during the day and 3% at night. FISH OIL can literally be bought at a vendor! It's a waist to make fish oil.
You're idea of using the fish to teleport and getting a bonus for using it is an idea I like. I don't know how many times I have gone fishing and while fishing enemies have aggroed on to me. What if you use that fish and you got 5 or ten minutes of aggro reduction while fishing? Don't you think that would be useful?
So about 2:45 in everything goes black leaving only audio. When I get a chance I will lose this vid on a desktop PC. Perhaps it's just a glitch with my android POS. Until then, I will be fishing in Cape of Stranglethorn
Umm not sure if just beta thing but u can but the fish oil on ah mount and a vendor in Zal for 2 gold 50 for 10 or 25S each so that makes so thats a hell of a price cap on fish oil/fish

WTBGold gotcha, I never copied a toon over. Just started a fresh 110 and lvl'd it to 120. Sp the find fish isn't on my map. And I'm at 150... oh btw it took me only about 150 casts to get the water mount. And since it was just beta I put it on AH for 9 mil.. SOLD
There are a bunch of items like that, hunters can only tame black widows at night, and there are a few pets that only appear in the summer and winter. Just rejoice whenever you get to play at night or have a long weekend. :) If this item is well received though, then they'll be probably do more things like it in future patches.
it toke me around 750 cast to go from 1-150 sins it drastically scaled down at around 125 for 1 level it toke every around 10-15 cast but before that around level 50-75 it was like every 1-3 cast from level 75-100 it was around 3-5 cast and 4-6 cast from 100-125
Hey sorry probably a dumb question - But what is the benefit of fishing out of pools vs just open water, I seem to be catching the same fish regardless? So why would I run around looking for pools now?
It's 7:45 am server time and I'm getting midnight salmon. 7 in the last 30 minutes. Also screw you lol getting from 139 fishing to 140 took me 12 casts
They changed it with launch. 3% drop rate at night and 1% during the day. Keeps the night fishing feel but without punishing people who can't ever log in then.
What about the u'taka and rasboralus fish? I know they're mainly used for an achievement right now but the game does say they're crafting reagents. On the other hand, they vendor for 50g each, so I don't really know if I should hang on to them for a future recipe or just trade them in for free gold.

Thanks. Yah, you can usually find a group for "silithus monk farming." The way they do it now is with 5 max level monks. The most geared puts his statue in the middle, and 4 others get naked and put their statues equidistant and 25-30 yards away. The statue taunt is AP dependent so the center one pulls off the perimiter ones. Everyone takes chi orbit and stands in the middle for a loot pile. i.imgur.com/AITivqD.jpg There are two mob types there. The ones on the outside are normal level 54-60, but the geomancers in the middle scale to your level. It's just so much faster with the monk strat that it's worth it. Thousands and thousands of kills per hour.

I only used teleporting to the pools to go up waterfalls so I didn't have to run around to it

I've always been a little unclear on whether the giant bobber actually helps anything or just makes it easier to see.
The giant bobber does increase the hit box of the fishing bobber, so it's easier to click.
the teleport fish might be cool to escape a pvp battle or something

They changed it with launch. 3% drop rate at night and 1% during the day. Keeps the night fishing feel but without punishing people who can't ever log in then.

I don't know if you can fishing the or not, but there is apes Oasis in bolden with a pond in the middle.
What about the u'taka and rasboralus fish? I know they're mainly used for an achievement right now but the game does say they're crafting reagents. On the other hand, they vendor for 50g each, so I don't really know if I should hang on to them for a future recipe or just trade them in for free gold.

Thanks. Yah, you can usually find a group for "silithus monk farming." The way they do it now is with 5 max level monks. The most geared puts his statue in the middle, and 4 others get naked and put their statues equidistant and 25-30 yards away. The statue taunt is AP dependent so the center one pulls off the perimiter ones. Everyone takes chi orbit and stands in the middle for a loot pile. i.imgur.com/AITivqD.jpg
There are two mob types there. The ones on the outside are normal level 54-60, but the geomancers in the middle scale to your level. It's just so much faster with the monk strat that it's worth it. Thousands and thousands of kills per hour.
