I'm a newly converted SUPER FAN!! GHOST is just..... MARVELOUS!! Why have I never gheard of them!?! I'm 42!! Anyway, I am in love with Papa, and enamored by this album, and older songs too! Just AMAZING!!
I also just discovered them about 3 months ago. Great addition to rock music!
Only heard of them a couple of years ago, but absolutely love Papa and all the gorgeous music he brings us
OK, I admit at first I didn’t like the song but after realising what the lyrics are about and the fact that the melody grew up on me I can say that now I’m obsessed by it. Hypatiaaaa…
Their songs always makes me cry they touch so much. No other band makes me feel that way

yeah, it's weird to call them a "swedish heavy metal band" and then people are like "heavy metal?"
If you ask me, changing genre is what Ghost does. Opus Eponymous was black metal, infesstissumam was more rock, Meliora was metal sometimes and rock sometimes, Prequelle was techno, and Impera is sort of 80's rock.

Also, agree. Alot like Rush. The bass, the guitar slides, the lyrics remind me of something early Rush 2112 era. Ghost is a hot band! To me getting better every album!

The fact that "Choir boys en suite" sounds like "choir boys are sweet" makes that line extra skin crawling.

I know “Handmaid’s Tail” is the actual lyrics, but if you don’t think that it’s a double entendre for “A Handmaid’s Tale”, then you probably haven’t watched the series or read the book.
The whole song is about how evil this “holy” religion can be, and in the book/show, the reasoning for the dystopia is Christianity. The stripping away of rights and viewing people as nothing more than tools to be used in the name of God.
Fits in well with the story of Hypatia and her murder by Christian zealots in the Caesareum (Kaisarion in Greek) of Alexandria.
@@Oppetsismiimsitsitc exactly, that’s why, at least to me, it’s obvious it’s a double entendre. Fits more than “handmaid’s tail” imo.
I've been a Ghost fan since 2018 ... I think Tobias is super talented but, he's un/mis-informed about American politics and it shows... The fact that he's obviously watched Handmaids Tale makes me think less of him. It's Hollywood non-sense aimed at the low IQ crowd.

@@orion7873 Ever read the book? It's one of the most impressive and disturbing dystopian novels I've ever read. For me it plays in the same league as 1984.
By the way, the song gives a new interpretation to the book title since the Christian church refers to herself as the "handmaid of Christ". In the Song the justification with a righteous dogma hides the satanic tail, the inner beast of the church, fanatical zeal it is.
