This video is a real gem. Truly bittersweet. I always knew in the back of my mind that the final trailer park was long gone and demolished. But seeing it like this was almost like getting closure.
Netflix was recommending me this series for years and I kept rejecting it. Finally I gave it a chance and discovered the best show every created. I don't know how many times I have watched all the seasons over and over again, and all the films.
This is so damn cool but it almost makes me wanna cry. The show is so old now. John dunnsworth died. I wish I could go back in time and experience trailer park boys back when they were actually filming.
I cant believe i never seen this show until this year (2020). Came across it on netflix when we were on full lockdown here (in Ireland) because of Covid 19. Watched every episode and all the movies and fell in love with the show. And was saddened to only hear this year of the great John Dunsworth's death 3 year ago in 2017. Thanks for the video. Am watching ever season of TBP all over again.
Thank you. I've heard about the existence of this video and I've finally found it. I saw J-ROC's trailer (3:30). I too get emotional over this. When I watch episodes, I so much want them to be present day, not 20 years ago. My favorite TV program of all time. I can't say it is the BEST program of all time, but the "Trailer Park Boys Theme" is. A long time ago I saw a video explaining how they came up with the brilliant harpsichord infused "Dangerman" theme. A video on the TPB Theme would be just as informative-- the greatest intro theme of all time.
I dont think that episode was filmed in an actual trailer park. But the wernt aloud to actually film in the park so the had a place bored off on the outskirts of the park remember when Ricky had the wall made that said keep the fuck out
@@jerrydinn6821it was filmed in the S4 park in Eastern Passage, they just used the wall and added a few extra trailers so they could do most of the filming on the edge of the park
Nope, I assure you, Seasons 5-6-7 'The Big Dirty', the Xmas special and parts of 'Countdown to Liquor day' was done here. When Lahey was smashing the old trailers, it was them ripping down the park in the process.
It's crazy how in the show they make it all look so far away from each other. Like the jail and the dump but the reality is that the jail and the dump are right around the same lot as the trailers. It's all in that one area but the way they film makes it look like it's miles from each other. Man I love this show and now that area is all just grass and field. It's all gone now.
This video really got me feeling sad, nostalgic and happy all at once. I hope this property is still here with everything intact. Would be such a shame to see it go or be demolished
I'm from Dartmouth and seen them numerous times. Weirdest was when the first movie was in theatres and walked in Mcdonalds to see Julian pumping his ketchups.
I remember walking up the main driveway with some girl i was on a first date with. We were just driving around at night in the winter and figured we would explore. It was pretty light out being that it had just snowed, was weird. This was probably 2005ish. Everything was still there at that time.
By your October 3I, 2006 film date, they must have just concluded filming for Season 7, the last season in that location. It would still be used for their movie, "Countdown to Liquor Day", and their short, "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys". a few years later (20II), "Hobo with a Shotgun" would use it too.
Idk if anybody responds because this video is so old, but does anyone know if they tore down the park with the vehicles still in it or if they scrapped them and then tore down the set?
Yes it's no longer there. This the fake Trailer Park on Bisset Road and it is no longer there. Even that old yellow rehab hospital that closed in 2002 is gone. It burned down in 2010. I saw it around August September 2008 too (as in this video in September) about a year after Showcase last filmed there and it looked like this. But now I know why it was still there as they were filming it the way it looked here in 2008 for the beginning of 2009's Countdown To Liquor Day before they went over to the new park.
there is nothing on these grounds from season two of trailer park because season 2 of trailer park was filmed in the bethel street trailer park in north end dartmouth ... the set that they built here was for seasons 6 and 7
I would have loved to work on this show...I was gonna do bg on the 3rd movie they shot downtown Ottawa, but I couldn't get out of my day job that day. My brother ended up being bg on Parliment Hill, blink and miss him haha. This is still one of my favorite series of all time.
@MrBGreener420 Everything is gone now, the entire building has been torn down, the city is still cleaning up the property, its just a giant empty lot now.
@deathkeeper5000 Nah, the shitmobile wasn't there. Though once I seen Julians monte carlo with the hockeystick spoiler, tires were all flat though, and I seen Laheys camper trailer there before.
Weird. I went a few times. One time a news station was filming there on that building, i was just chatting with them, they didn't care. Another time there was like 8 other people going around taking pics. Hell, one time I even got inside the old buildings, but I seen some dude outside walking around and got out and bolted into the woods. hah!
@420judaspriest I'm not sure where "Lahey's Trailer Park Haven" is located. Sadly, there is no new movie/shows, they're done as far as I know. The main cast may still do guest appearences at shows etc, and theres a spin off comming out called "the drunk and on drugs happy fun time hour" go to trailerparkboys. org its a fan based site, they may be able to answer some other questions.
At the end was the station wagon Jim and Randy used to stalk Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles from the movie "Don't Legalize It". Lol, Jim Lahey coked out on "white liquor"!
@CHRYSLEROUTBOARDS The trailers were removed a year+ beofre the back side of the hospital got torched, however, the city is in the process of ripping the rest of it down (was planned)
Man I went last summer and the entrance was gated up, my buddies cousin lives in dartmouth so when I visited him I asked em to bring me to sunnyvale and I couldnt even get in :( I shouldve snuck around the woods like you did!!!! Good job bro Im gonna try and get in as well and check out all those wicked scenes! your such a lucky fuck tho
@420judaspriest It was just a small part of the old hospital that got burnt down. Some punks got in and did it. Right now the city is in the process of removing all the asbestos from the old hospital and taring the whole place down. Soon it will just be an empty plot of land.
Keep in mind there was about a 6 year gap between the initial end of the series and the revival with Season 8. In that time, the city tore up the property (I imagine the boys couldn't agree to a lease), so they couldn't use it anymore.
