I grew up and got to watch this show in my teens and a time in my life when i needed it, it was horrible when it was canceled because it was soooo good.
Sad to see that this was filmed right before the show was officially cancelled. .it was such a huge part of my life in 6th and 7th grade. Even though the teen characters were a few years older than me I still dealt with similar issues as they did when I was 11 and 12 years old. Kids in my school were starting to date, there was peer pressure to act and dress a certain way and that innocence we had in elementary school was gone. It was that awkward preteen phase where we were not really kids anymore but not yet teenagers and I knew plenty of Rayannes, Rikki s and Angela's. I remember when Mtv started airing the show and hearing that their was an internet campaign to try and save the show. .I didn't own a computer in 94 but if I had I probably would have participated. Unfortunately though Claire Danes wanted to move on to doing movies and that helped seal the shows fate. I would have been grateful for even just one more season! Oh well ..it still ranks as one of my favorite shows and probably always will.
I def didn't know anyone around that age sleeping around. We just signed a silly petition to keep Jared leto :/, my so called life around. I wonder if the ppl from the show ever received it.
What an actress A J was, would of been nice to see still on the screen, just looking how different she is from her character shows her how much depth she has as an actress. My word did I have a crush on her back then lol.
they all seemed liked they were so connected to and deeply cared about their characters i can't believe a show like that was cancelled especially back then when there were few great drama series airing
I got this show on DVD after hearing so many wonderful things about it. And it REALLY DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! Wonderful storylines, compelling characters all played brilliantly. And what I liked the most (something which I had heard before getting it) was even if you didn't sympathise with Angela all the time, you could sympathise with the parents, or Sharon, or Brian, or Rickie, etc. I recommend this to everyone and anyone.
they were all so happy. you can tell they probably thought this was going to be picked up. they were such a perfect cast and made this show so compelling.
A.J. Langer is a fabulous actress. She now is an English 'Lady' (having married a 'Lord') and she is an advocate for the funding of fibromyalgia treatments as she herself suffers from it..
@msclfan02, I was going to write that! Langer nailed that character. Her portrayal was flawless never once did I stop believing the acting. That has to be especially hard for such a character that could so easily be overdone.
I think AJ is a lot like Rayanne. They're obviously not exactly alike but you can't tell me all those little jokes and her high pitched voices doesn't remind you of Rayanne..
i was 6 when this came on tv im watching it now i just got the dvd in the mail im so hooked im mad they cancelled it but claire danes didnt want to continue on with the show so what can you do =/
Bess Armstrong looks absolutely fantastic. Hardly aged at all from her days on*Lace* as Judy. Seems to have held up much better than Brooke Adams (Pagan).
Once upon a time, there was this country called United States of America. Its people had the potential to be a great nation. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, the Americans, as they liked to call themselves, decided that they were so great that they did not need to have knowledge or to be corrected on anything. America was 'the best country in the world' so they decided they didn't need to know about the rest of the world. ...Sadly, it led to a widespread reputation around the world for
@xillfatedlovex claire danes didnt want to do it anymore they would of kept it going she was starring in that romeo & juliet movie with leo dicaprio as well
(part 3) facts (like how many states are in the United States of America, what language 'Parisians' speak, where the Berlin wall was located, why it came down and when, where to find Japan on a map of the world), and even how to write grammatically correct sentences, were all 'unimportant' compared to knowing what Snooki did in the latest episode of Jersey Shore. It took some time to realize that it resulted from the attitude 'I don't care'. But it was too late. They were dumb. Canada took over.
@littlefurballs Yes, but, it could be argued that, as the series progressed, it could've managed to get worse, if that was possible. I am okay with letting a series which I like be nipped in the bud, on the off chance I won't like it as much. Also (if you don't like any of the following, then sorry because there is no consollation), but MSCL still does live on, people still love and are influenced by it; we wouldn't have Buffy without MSCL, we wouldn't have Juno without it.
(part 2) being, well, less than ideally educated about what was going in the rest of the world and sometimes even in their own country. Some people invented this wonderful technology called 'RUclips' where people could post videos about anything and everything. It came to be that there would be countless videos about how uninformed these Americans were about the world and even sometimes America itself. It took some time for them to realize that it was a result of deciding that knowledge, such as
This show was SO ahead of it's time. What a masterpiece this series was, pure genius..
I grew up and got to watch this show in my teens and a time in my life when i needed it, it was horrible when it was canceled because it was soooo good.
You know you can really tell these people cared deeply about the characters that they played on this show. I can't believe it was cancelled so early.
show was ahead of it's time.....
all these seem so far away now .....

AJ is so beautiful! Still crushing and I’m in my 40s.
This tv show reminds me of my teenage years.. I could so relate to it.. its kind of a diary..
I can't tell if they're acting or is really doing an interview.
What an actress A J was, would of been nice to see still on the screen, just looking how different she is from her character shows her how much depth she has as an actress. My word did I have a crush on her back then lol.
She is definitely one of the very best!

I LOVE RICKIE! he is sooooooo sweet...
I got this show on DVD after hearing so many wonderful things about it. And it REALLY DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! Wonderful storylines, compelling characters all played brilliantly. I'm now older than Angela's mum?! Now I feel old.
I just bought the box set and have been watching it and thinking the same thing. 😢
they were all so happy. you can tell they probably thought this was going to be picked up. they were such a perfect cast and made this show so compelling.
weird to see aj with normal hair

I was 26 when the show was on tv and I loved it. Now that i'm 40, I can really relate to this episode and what Patty was going thru.
Bess was so right about the parallel between being 40 and being 15.

1) I wish Jared was there!!!
2) Ricky is quite cute, I wish he wasn't gay!
3) AJ Langer is SO pretty and cute in real life!
AJ seems moved...that's neat.
Thanks for posting this, unfortunately it isn't on the UK box set. :)
I watched it when I was 15 and now I’m in my 40s
This is great. Thank you so much for uploading.
DO YOU HAVE THE REST OF THIS?! (sorry for yelling :-)

@neveranormalgirl I have the BMG set that came out then got discontinued and it doesn't have any extras. Thanks for posting this.

Where's Jared in all this?!...
And where did you get this?!...
Its AMAZING!!!!
=)
@shinjiikarir lmao i bet the cast was like fuck we are out of work now!
I think AJ is a lot like Rayanne. They're obviously not exactly alike but you can't tell me all those little jokes and her high pitched voices doesn't remind you of Rayanne..

I'm sorry but at what point exactly is Claire Danes in the film "Lost in Translation"?
Once upon a time, there was this country called United States of America. Its people had the potential to be a great nation. There has to be some sort of conspiracy theory..this show should never have been cancelled...!
@statman88 It's because of Claire Danes. She didn't want to do another all over season again
@animaze86 I meant to say she was great in 'The Rainmaker'. I deleted my comment and reposted it to correct my mistake. Thank you for pointing it out.
Rayane was genial
@xillfatedlovex claire danes didnt want to do it anymore they would of kept it going she was starring in that romeo & juliet movie with leo dicaprio as well
@SUPERTOUCH777 really? how did you screw that relationship up?

Well to be fair, in the grand scheme of things, alot of things are unimportant. The states aren't even definite.
@bryanrockstar Yes. I'm sorry, I typed in the wrong film.
Yes I have. Many times. Nice try. No cigar.
@littlefurballs

I thought Patty was annoying as hell.
@SUPERTOUCH777 wow that woulda been cool if it'd worked, right? :)
you go to a theatre for a 'show'. This is a PROGRAMME!!!! The US - use the same words and spelling as the rest of the world. YOu need to change.
