I really like your step by step vids Alex, helped me out many times! Question: when resawing on the bandsaw, is it better to set the cut alignment nearer the fence, or on the outside of the board? In other words, off cut discard on the right or to the left of the blade. Thanks for all your efforts!
I prefer the thinner piece between the blade and the fence that way if there’s an issue you have somewhere to go and you’re not running your knuckles into the blade.
Great video! I am a longtime subscriber/viewer and first time commenter. I own this saw and I am having trouble seeing why the Carter guides are superior to the OEM? It appears that the adjustment mechanisms are basically the same?? Please help me understand the advantage of the Carter guides.
The Carter guides are easier to adjust and have higher quality bearings. They are also not a cam adjustment and are tighten with an Allen wrench so adjusting them is rare.
Kind Sir Alex...to my eyes, it looks like the Bandsaw's body, is slightly bowed; from top to bottom. Then I looked at my new BS; of my Powermatic like yours. And it is bowed too. Am I going crazy? Or do I need glasses? Huh? ❤ your videos always.
@@bandsawlife2660 I was afraid about that Alex! OK...IF you stand as your camera is...and look top to bottom of the BS; when the saw is straight up and down. Then look at the BS's Body. And to me it seems the body is slightly bowed.. I thought that maybe, "ALL BS are that way (to keep the saw on better. etc)". I don't know. Bur I Hope that helps now, dear friend.
